Wow, Dr. Kristen really looked at everything, and had a hard time saying that maybe it was time to let that poor lady go. I like a Vet that isn't wanting to give up too soon, but knows when quality of life is no longer there. You can feel it through the screen. A very good Vet, and a keeper.

It’s unfortunate but some horses just can’t be “fixed”, you try and that’s what counts.
You give the unfixables (as I call them) a few good hours, days, months and they get to experience good things coming from humans compared to their previous life of abuse and neglect.
God bless all of you for what you do.

Thanks for all you do for the horses. It's sad to see the previous owners give up on their aging horses. I'm happy that you all give them a soft place to land. Why do people ignore their feet? We're on a 5 week trim cycle for my horses. My 18 year old gelding has laminitis and does great with glue on shoes along with a low sugar diet. He came to me with undiagnosed laminitis but I recognized it right away. He can now enjoy running with my mares. I'm sorry to Kylie go but Larry found a great home with her. Hes a cool horse.

Dr. Kristen is such a sweet compassionate vet not all vets are like her. She really cares about these animals wants to give them every chance that they can before anything drastic… I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Julie. I know she got adopted but if I live closer to you, I do come and got her. I know there’s something about her. I like she’s not the prettiest, but I think she’s a cute little horse. I’d like to know what breed she is. And Sunny is another one. I think she is just awesome. I had to take her to.. I live in Utah and we have so many mountains with bows and stuff. I would just love to get up in those mountains bare back with her just clump clump clump through the metal.

I read Pony Rescue's reply about Kylie leaving. It must impact on you all seeing such neglected horses and having to make life and death decisions. Especially when you have invested such love and care into them. Then you have to see them go to new homes. It must be with mixed feelings, happy for them to get new homes. Sad if you have looked after them for a while. I am so glad Kylie is taking Larry with her to continue his training.
Your winters are terrible too. We get bad winters in England but nothing like you get.
Last Saturday my eleven year old grandson had a riding lesson. The stables dont have a covered arena, and suddenly the sun went behind clouds and the temperature dropped to 3°Celsius. It was probably colder with the wind chill. Despite having many layers on and good gloves he started crying as he was so cold. He is a real toughie but he was frozen. The instructor is lovely, she asked if he wanted to stop and he did.
While he was warming up in the car with his grandad I helped untack the horses. I took my gloves off and after doing one horse I couldn't feel my fingers. It was so painful! I don't know how I managed to do the next three. I honestly thought of you all as I struggled. Then leading them out to the field, I slipped as it was starting to freeze.
You all dont have a choice like many people do in bad weather. You have to get up, check the water isnt frozen and that horses etc have food.
You all have my deepest respect and admiration. Good luck Kylie in your new job and thank you for all the wonderful work you have done x

I think hubby could make a slight ramp where the xray slide could fit in a slot next to the hoof. Just, on other channels too its always a task to get the horse to stand up on a plank to take the ideal coffin bone xray. I know it's new, but I bet he would think about it and maybe make something to help out that situation, just because there will be more to come. Idk, always placing the xray slide in a slight different direction based on the horses existing damage and turn out maybe a fixture wouldnt work...but just a ramped up area with slots the xray slide could fit down in.
Or how about a lift, two jacks under the front feet after they walk up on a plank... just like the front end of a car but... gently... and only a couple inches. More like the lift on a barber chair.

I’ve followed a lot of rescues on TH-cam but none of them actually show anything good and just use a lot of “at home remedies” in my opinion that’s not a real rescue. Pony tales has my mad respect and one of the only ones that shows the good bad and ugly. Being a horse trainer I appreciate the fact yall have the farrier and vet out religiously. This is what I think a true rescue should be. Thank you for doing what you’re doing.

With due respect, as a rescue, most horses are living their last, have multiple problems, and sometimes we have to allocate funds accordingly. The home remedies can be good interim techniques until veterinary intervention can be funded.
25k on a rupture after a food tube stuck in,
9k on a sick alpaca that ultimately needed euthanasia,
5k and counting on a lacerated fetlock, 2 cushings diagnosis,
one pending lame total assessment. farrier visits for 16 rescues, and this is all in 6 months. We are so dependent on volunteers and donations.
Rescues can be under regulated, but please take peace in knowing there are good rescues out there. The knowledge and facility here is enviable.
      Loved the vid☺️

Great job. I thought Paulie was going to buy that horse. It looked like the perfect fit for him. Have a Happy New Year.

Love seeing your extremely talented vet and farrier and your caring rescuers coming together to help these horses...I'm not a fan of pseudo science in some 'remedies' or 'treatments'. I remember the fake spring loaded spinal hammer gun that was promoted by animal chiropractors a few years back.

It is always hard for rescues when they lose valued staff. Trainers etc have to live too and when jobs come up that will be able to pay more one cannot fault the staff member for looking to improve their finances and continue with getting better at what they love. The fans will miss Kylie and your right, if not for her many of the horses might not have found their new homes. Best of luck girl, you go out there and improve your life and your skills and the lives of future horses that you might work with.

Question ❓ i hear that red light 🚨 therapy can help animals with alota of the issues at hand . Is that an option for the rescues?

I love this channel, especially how the doctors /vets diagnose their patients, these women vets know their stuff and help their patients as much as they can. I love how they give their opinions and advice on these issues with the horses, and how much they care for the animals they treat with their care in mind and not people’s personal opinions. They actually can feel their pain and suffering, I can see it in their eyes and faces with their concerns. They are very compassionate and caring individuals. My hope and prayers are that they will never deter from this goal with their patients and continue to stay the loving and caring individuals that they are. HIGH 5 to all of you for doing such a wonderful work in helping these poor animals attain the loving home and recovery time within their healing processes, and helping them have a second chance at life. 👍👍👍👍👍🥰👍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🐴🇺🇸

OMG! Kylie will be missed. She was so good working with the horses, knowing their sweet spots especially when Paulie the farrier comes. The one horse was so mesmerized by her scratches that I don't even think the horse knew Paulie was even there, let alone working on the feet. Maybe she'll be back to volunteer. Best of luck Kaylie!

lol Pauly’s always a riot 😂 he’s awesome and obviously cares for the horses even though he’s got the difficult job of dealing with hooved babies bigger and heavier than him who don’t want their feet worked on

I’m wondering given the through and through hole if it was a projectile rather than a car accident.

Dr Kristen, I love your work, and Pauley - you neeeeeed the Haffy - either you take her (?) or I will - though I don't have $26k for Quarantine and Flights to Australia, then a further $2k for transport f rom the Sydnew Q. Centre to me in Regional South Australia (Think middle of the country but when you hit half way you go across slightly down of that triangle in the centre - just 77km down the coast from the point of the gulf that is the centre there.... Maybe I should just get one off a lady I know who breeds beautiful Haflingers here in SA for riding, driving etc ... though shes slowed down now.
Love the delivery at the end :D thats awesome.
