Fun facts about this child is that his charisma and way to act correlate with Zhang Ruoyun's( the main actor) and that's just astonishing you really felt like it was ruoyun's younger self and vice versa therefore that's why I want to compliment the person who chose the cast along with the actors . 3rd time watching it and the feeling is like the 1st time nice job 👏

Ooooo.... that's a bold statement. JOL is a very good series, like NIF 1 and NIF 2.... so I guess it comes down to personal preference. This one gets the award though, for " best ending".
SAME well depends on how they wrap it up with the rest of the series I guess. I think in terms of looking at purely the plot, Nirvana in Fire and Joy of Life are definitely my top two

This is a classic. Would love to see it on US tv. I’ve become addicted to Chinese/ Asian series. They are wonderful. This is My favourite drama/comedy series. Love this wee lad. He is fabulous. The scenes with Master Fei are great. He knocks out his teacher, the grave digging, poisonings, great pair. But I Love all the characters, actors. The main actor Zheng, is gorgeous and terrific. Looking forward to the 2nd series. 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 24hrs series my top favourite drama also.

OMG, I absolutely loved watching this drama. Everything about it including the script, acting, cinematography ect was outstanding. It the first drama I watched with Ruoyun...what a fantastic actor, he's a really cutie. I love the scenes where he laughed too so nature ..I go the jokes. Thanks so much for providing English subtitles . I'm fairly new to the C-drama scene and I have to say so far this is one of my favorite dramas. Can't wait to watch season 2 hope it comes out soon!
He's a fantastic actor. I got hooked on C and Kdrama 2 years ago and haven't looked back. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend Nirvana in Fire. It's a towering C-drama classic, and perhaps the best drama I've ever seen anywhere. I wasn't drawn in instantly, it took the first few episodes, but the slow burn pays off later, because everything is being set up. Very cerebral drama. I rate Joy of Life second to it. Flower of Evil, Mr Queen, and Mr Sunshine are fantastic too. Happy viewing!

Finally watching Joy of Life, and even though I only became interested in this because I knew that at some point I was going to see Xiao Zhan, I was pleasantly surprised by the first episode. I loved his kid self and found myself laughing numerous times; I even had to look it up and see if one of their genres is supposed to be comedy. I don't think so, but that would've been fun. :) I'm looking forward to continuing with this drama and seeing where the story goes. I think I'll be able to hold out until your character shows up, XZ.

I've been away from C-dramas for some time now and only recently got pulled back into taking an interest. At first I put JOL on my watch list, because Xiao Zhan's acting stood out to me in the Wolf and the Untamed. And oh my! The reviews and high ratings for this drama are right on point. This is only the first episode and already I'm hooked by the intriguing story, the comic delivery and characters. I foresee the next few days will be set aside for "binge watching"...LOL!

Finn Han who plays the little boy in this episode is so funny and a great actor. He acts with his face which is very hard for an actor to do. Finn is playing against a seasonal actress (grandmother) and he’s not intimidated at all😇

This first episode was one of the best l have ever seen. I loved/enjoyed every minute, when l saw it the first time. By now it is my 5 time l watch this first season of JOY OF LIVE. Apart from the acting, l love listening to the dreamy music 36:26, which stimulates ones senses to be part of this past time, and suits the mood of the episode so well. I’m 10 episodes in and now rewatching from the beginning because I missed Haolin Han, young Fan Xian who’s only in a few episodes. He lights up the screen with his antics, I hope he gets major roles in the near future. The female lead character is typical and over dramatized, leaving me bored. Perhaps I might give it another chance and see if there’s character development going forward. Fan Xian younger brother, Fan Sizhe and his mother are good paring. I loved seeing them on screen together for their love for wealth. I tuned in for Ruoyun Zhang and he delivers, as usual.
I'm a big fan of this series. Very funny and cleverly written. I've read negative critical comments of the lead actor but in my opinion he is perfect for the role.
Even if one is not too fond of the lead actor and the chemistry between his love interest, the little girl/princess send back to the capitol in the first episode, there are enough charismatic characters to keep you on the toe, and the story is really written well, and there are lots of twists and turns, in my opinion. One should always judge for oneself, if something is attractive to watch, or not, as we all have different perceptions, and tastes. I hope you enjoy JOY OF LIVE, if not it would be interesting, why you did not like it. Cheers,

I agree, Korda. The only show beats it is Nirvana in Fire, but that's a classic. Absolutely amazing series.

This is my 3rd time watching this. Man I love this show so much. I cannot wait for season 2! It's what I looked forward to all 2023.

This first episode was one of the best l have ever seen. I loved/enjoyed every minute, when l saw it the first time. By now it is my 5 time l watch this first season of JOY OF LIVE. Apart from the acting, l love listening to the dreamy music 36:26, which stimulates ones senses to be part of this

I’m 10 episodes in and now rewatching from the beginning because I missed Haolin Han, young Fan Xian who’s only in a few episodes. He lights up the screen with his antics, I hope he gets major roles in the near future. The female lead character is typical and over dramatized, leaving me bored. Perhaps I might give it another chance and see if there’s character development going forward. Fan Xian younger brother, Fan Sizhe and his mother are good paring. I loved seeing them on screen together for their love for wealth. I tuned in for Ruoyun Zhang and he delivers, as usual.

I'm a big fan of this series. Very funny and cleverly written. I've read negative critical comments of the lead actor but in my opinion he is perfect for the role.
Even if one is not too fond of the lead actor and the chemistry between his love interest, the little girl/princess send back to the capitol in the first episode, there are enough charismatic characters to keep you on the toe, and the story is really written well, and there are lots of twists and turns, in my opinion. One should always judge for oneself, if something is attractive to watch, or not, as we all have different perceptions, and tastes. I hope you enjoy JOY OF LIVE, if not it would be interesting, why you did not like it. Cheers,
Very true, Judy. I think Nirvana in Fire may be the best drama I've seen in my life so far. The acting is inhumanly, insanely good. But I've seen reviews critical of it. People are different. Watch for yourself
