Tell me about it! What ones are you watching I might be able to tell you a few that you may have missed. Currently I am hooking into novoland two Eternal love season 2 and pet at dali temple which has to deal with a girl who turns into cat who turns back into a girl from the future. Pretty good the one i finished though was ashes of love it was good people keep telling me I need to watch Untamed but I can't seem to get into it. I really like Eternal Love though the first season I cried mid season and at the end it was that good. I not a crier but I find myself tearing up at the right moments and I love that.

This is my absolute favorite drama and therefore I'm rewatching it (and I rarely rewatch any show or film because I easily get bored), the acting and the story is absolutely beautiful and I really like that this drama isn't entirely focused on the relationship between the ML and rhe FL and that a really important part of the plot is the friendship between the main friend group as well as the scheme that's going on in the background and that we (the viewers) get an insight on all mysteries and get to "solve" them with the team and see how it all unravels while also often being taken by surprise by the plot twists. I also love how the plot, even if it is pretty complex, doesn't feel heavy at all. It flows very nicely and is very refreshing to watch while it also catches the viewer's attention and makes him/her want to know more about the story. I also really like how the FL isn't weak and even though her martial arts aren't very good compared to the ML's she is written in such a way that enforces her strenghts instead of highlighting her weaknesses. And said weaknesses as well as her sad backstory are portrayed in a way that don't make her seem a frail, helpless little girl but a strong young maiden that has kept her chin up despite having suffered a lot and despite not being perfect. And the side characters feel so real too, as an example it wasn't just the FL and ML who were strong and had many talents that could be helpful in the group's escapades, the other three members of the group all had their ups and downs and strengths and weaknesses. I especially like how Rushuang (second female lead) isn't weak and extremely girly or overly quirky as is often the case in many c-dramas as well as many western productions, she is genuinely nice to watch. The bad guys are also very well written and there's depth to their character as well. They aren't just evil and that's it, they also are people (even if they're bad) and this drama really does portray that very well. I haven't watched this drama in about two years but I still remember how much I liked it and how well made it is and I always suggest it to anyone who asks me about any dramas they should watch. In a world in which the conflict between men and women is still very present and in which feminism is often exploited to bring women up (especially in movies) in a way that either brings men down or just makes the women's empowerment feel fake and tacky this drama is very refreshing, I don't remember every single scene since it's been two years but I clearly remember how empowering and genuinely *nice* it felt to watch. The female lead is not perfect (just like all the other characters) but she feels very genuine and her strenghts and weaknesses are merged together in a way that make her very badass. Right now I'm 16 and I'm looking forward to working in the movie industry and I will always keep this show in my heart as a reminder of what island of art can be found among a sea that's full of works that exist just for the money. This series truly is a masterpiece. If I ever have kids in the future I will certainly show it to them. This drama truly deserves more recognition, I applaud the writers and all the cast.
Yeah he def is pretty 😍 but the most beautiful hero in my heart at this moment is the ML of Love and Redemption drama....I'm dying for him sooo muchh oh lordd 😭💖

If you loved a light weight, no love triangle, the ML respect the FL, little to no misunderstanding, cute side couples, friends, investigating kinda drama then yes! PLUS, the ML is so HANDSOME! OMG.

this drama was my favorite of 2020, i just keep finding myself coming back to it every month can't get enough of it. it's so underrated. everything is just so prefect, the cast, plot pace, cinematography and ofc the beautiful ost.

Zhang LingHe ~ is phenomenal in his first starring role! All the actors are amazing and the storyline is refreshing! Definitely a top 5 favorite for a less than 35 episode ancient c-drama series! Definitely a sleeper so far! Will recommend and strongly suggest a Season 2 with same main actors! ps: Shoutout to English Subbers!
One of my favorites and I am rewatching it again. FL has great acting skills and I really wish she can be given more opportunities to play a lead in other dramas. I am sick of only seeing the same FL in the 'popular' drama all the time.

Yep I agree Maiden Holmes is in my top 5 the best CDrama with Romance of tiger and rose, Dreaming back to Qing dynasty, A girl like me and The ethernal love (3 sezons).
There’s a happy ending! Great show, it was lighthearted with romance and palace intrigue. It wasn’t too serious or dark. The storylines kept me interested and continually moved along. There were no stupid or ridiculous moments or characters. There were 2 main storylines and episodes with crime solving. The main leads were absolutely wonderful. 💖 I loved the ML, he was adorable, strong, dependable, always took care of FL, beautiful eyes and more. He did a great job and this was his first drama as the lead. The FL was also a fresh of breath air because she was strong, smart, independent, beautiful, caring and more. It was wonderful not to have a FL that was annoying, whining and a turn off. They had great chemistry and were so comfortable with each other. They were very affectionate, holding hands, hugging, leaning on each other and best of all the kisses were abundant and real (they were not passionate but of normal sweet and affectionate kisses). The second couple were so cute also. Another strong female with the male being strong but not the brightest, they matched perfectly. I highly recommend this show. I’ll definitely be watching it again. There are times when you really need to watch a show like this.
Aww! There have been so many wonderful Cdramas lately. I think Su/Qi is the most realistic and healthiest CP for me. They bonded by working cases together and work so well together to endure and succeed throughout the drama. Organic love! The supporting cast is perfect as well!
If you are doubting this drama and coming to the comments for reasons to keep watching, we’ll all I can say is please keep watching you won’t regret it. It’s a great drama, there’s mystery and cases to solve, chemistry between the characters are very fun and sweet, the drama is not long but short enough to cover all the excitement. I love it and watch like 4 times already and still love it. One thing I love most is there is no separation or third wheel once the characters admit their love for each other there are committed to each other, love it!
This is a great drama to watch. I've watched it many times and will probably watch it again. The story is great and the chemistry between the ML and FL is amazing. He is so loving and supportive of the FL.
This drama is definitely much better than you think its going to be. The characters and story are both well written, misunderstandings are resolved quickly and intelligently. And since its only 32 episodes it doesnt drag in the middle for 20 episodes like those 60 episode dramas. The main leads and secondary leads are all smart, attractive, likeable people.

I absolutely love this drama! Prince Qi is such a tease and a flirt!! I love Zhang Linghe in this role and his chemistry with Sebring Chen is off the charts!! All the characters are wonderful!
This is a really good drama! I read the plot and didn’t think that it was interesting when I first saw it show up in my feed. Somehow I finally got curious in the weekend and click this ep and have since been hooked. Both leads have very good chemistry. And I still can’t believe it’s ML’s first drama! Hope to see them together in future dramas too 🙂

A must-watch. This is a combination of detective, unconditional love kind of story. I've noticed that they are neat and clean and kept on changing their outfit. ( unlike in other historical series the producer are thrifty in spending on their costumes). A big congratulation to all who participated in this series.

I love this series, good story, good acting and great chemistry between the main actors. This first episode introduces the characters perfectly, showing their motivations and difficulties (just first snippets that will be explained further along in the series). Prince Qi annoyance at having to play the dandy and subsequently Su's annoyance at that persona. I'm also wondering whether or not Prince Qi already suspected something was off with Su's gender when he smelled (seems so wrong saying it like this) her in the brothel.

For those like me that couldn't figure out why they titled this series 'Maiden Holmes' . Of course Maiden refers to her being female and 'Holmes' is as in Sherlock Holmes, the English Detective..............so "female Detective'.
Each episode is so Lovely and interesting. All misunderstandings resolved so quick, I guarantee all those who are new, its not heartbreaking, its worth the watch. I won't spill the cake for you but know its so perfect from the first to the last episode ❤

Was watching this while waiting for Love and Redemption episodes to be released. Ditched Love and Redemption (story became too melodramatic for me) and focused on this instead. Very glad I jumped the bandwagon. This series deserves much more acclaim. Into my 2nd watch, and I still enjoy it. On the surface it seems like your average idol drama, but there is something about it that gels together so well. The series, if broken down into parts, runs like a collection of Most Common Idol Drama Cliches. However, the mystery solving whips the story along, lending a pace to events that always managed to keep my attention. Despite the cliches, most of the emotional bonding scenes sought not necessarily to be original, but more to capture the feel of the moment, to make it look as organic as possible. I'm really impressed with that. And proof of this is seen in the BTS. To be fair, this production does have it's unique elements e.g. Su Ci's adorable recital of police hierarchy whenever she gets anxious. It's such a rare thing to see a human idiosyncrasy used to illustrate a character on screen these days. Later in the series, when Su Ci and Pei Zhao are formally a couple, attention was consistently paid to even their body posture (I will not spoil that with what I mean). The little things that may be missed but count the most, this series paid homage to. This series may be far from original, but it has been the most heartwarming thing I have seen this year.
I couldn’t agree more! You capture my thoughts exactly and why I love this drama so much. It’s really these small details and human touch that make the scene not so cliche but natural and specific just to this couple. This happens more and better later when they are a couple and their affection for each other is so well displayed in scenes where they are just openly speaking to each other about their past and their future hopes. No kissing or anything but nonetheless just as romantic and heartwarming. I just adore this drama and will be sad when it ends.

They do kiss tho haha and those certain moments when they do are veryy sweet and tender.....becoz the timing of those kisses are so meaningful and special. They aren't random or 'accidental' ones which is a common cliché in other dramas. That's why it's even more romantic to me....and I also love when they are simply being affectionate with each other because it just seems really natural and lovely overall without feeling forced 😍💘
@@itsmidtrib1569 Recently: My Unicorn Girl. Also starring Sebrina Chan. In the theme of Amanda Bynes in 'She's the Man' - less slapstick, more mild comedy. Has some interesting premises for conflict between characters. Nice twist to the ending. The best slomo romantic dance scene I've seen in a while. The Heiress. Disappointing ending. But the best performance in cross-dressing probably of this year. I love laissez faire behaviour masking an actually cunning and intelligent mind. Cdramas seem to be following a trend of poor quality ending these days. If The Heiress had handled their ending better, it would give Maiden Holmes a good run for it's money.

I got really tired of the cold, emotionless, "tough" male leads in cross dressing dramas these days. One of the other dramas that I really enjoyed that is probably just as good as Maiden Holmes is "fake princess". The girl can fight, there's double agents, and she's really smart. I have unicorn girl on my list! Any other drama recommendations?

Wow, they sure don't want to missed a viewer. They threw everything in this first episode, gender bender, cross dress, handcuffed, under water kiss, fall in a trap hole, childhood crush....LOL What are they going to do for the rest of the episodes? Will keep watching until it gets dull.

The only historical drama that has me completely hooked right now though is Love and Redemption....I've watched up to 27 eps soo quick already omg....each ep is just amazingly beautiful or heart wrenching in some way to where no other drama can compare or outshine it in my heart at this point. Prince Qi - Zhang Ling He looks like Kim Rae Won when he was young. Good actor even this is the first series he act on. I like this series, so far so great!
This series is really great. I enjoyed watching it through out and the ending is good. It wasn't rush and or not thought out well like other CDrama i watched.

I’m obsessed with this drama! 😍 I must have rewatched the episodes countless times already!! It’s so good! And it keeps getting better! And the amount of sweet scenes between the leads 🥰💕 ~ omg it’s just icing to an otherwise solid story, great acting, amazing chemistry and dialogue. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Yep I agree Maiden Holmes is in my top 5 the best CDrama with Romance of tiger and rose, Dreaming back to Qing dynasty, A girl like me and The ethernal love (3 sezons).

Great show, it was lighthearted with romance and palace intrigue. It wasn’t too serious or dark. The storylines kept me interested and continually moved along. There were no stupid or ridiculous moments or characters. There were 2 main storylines and episodes with crime solving.
The main leads were absolutely wonderful. 💖 I loved the ML, he was adorable, strong, dependable, always took care of FL, beautiful eyes and more. He did a great job and this was his first drama as the lead. The FL was also a fresh of breath air because she was strong, smart, independent, beautiful, caring and more. It was wonderful not to have a FL that was annoying, whining and a turn off.
They had great chemistry and were so comfortable with each other. They were very affectionate, holding hands, hugging, leaning on each other and best of all the kisses were abundant and real (they were not passionate but of normal sweet and affectionate kisses).
The second couple were so cute also. Another strong female with the male being strong but not the brightest, they matched perfectly.
I highly recommend this show. I’ll definitely be watching it again. There are times when you really need to watch a show like this.

Aww! There have been so many wonderful Cdramas lately. I think Su/Qi is the most realistic and healthiest CP for me. They bonded by working cases together and work so well together to endure and succeed throughout the drama. Organic love! The supporting cast is perfect as well!
If you are doubting this drama and coming to the comments for reasons to keep watching, we’ll all I can say is please keep watching you won’t regret it. It’s a great drama, there’s mystery and cases to solve, chemistry between the characters are very fun and sweet, the drama is not long but short enough to cover all the excitement. I love it and watch like 4 times already and still love it. One thing I love most is there is no separation or third wheel once the characters admit their love for each other there are committed to each other, love it!

This is a great drama to watch. I've watched it many times and will probably watch it again. The story is great and the chemistry between the ML and FL is amazing. He is so loving and supportive of the FL.
This drama is definitely much better than you think its going to be. The characters and story are both well written, misunderstandings are resolved quickly and intelligently. And since its only 32 episodes it doesnt drag in the middle for 20 episodes like those 60 episode dramas. The main leads and secondary leads are all smart, attractive, likeable people.

I absolutely love this drama! Prince Qi is such a tease and a flirt!! I love Zhang Linghe in this role and his chemistry with Sebring Chen is off the charts!! All the characters are wonderful!

This is a really good drama! I read the plot and didn’t think that it was interesting when I first saw it show up in my feed. Somehow I finally got curious in the weekend and click this ep and have since been hooked. Both leads have very good chemistry. And I still can’t believe it’s ML’s first drama! Hope to see them together in future dramas too 🙂

A must-watch. This is a combination of detective, unconditional love kind of story. I've noticed that they are neat and clean and kept on changing their outfit. ( unlike in other historical series the producer are thrifty in spending on their costumes). A big congratulation to all who participated in this series.

I love this series, good story, good acting and great chemistry between the main actors. This first episode introduces the characters perfectly, showing their motivations and difficulties (just first snippets that will be explained further along in the series). Prince Qi annoyance at having to play the dandy and subsequently Su's annoyance at that persona. I'm also wondering whether or not Prince Qi already suspected something was off with Su's gender when he smelled (seems so wrong saying it like this) her in the brothel.
Best line so far when assistant looks at poison girl with so much makeup on and says, "eeeuuww". He delivers it well.

For those like me that couldn't figure out why they titled this series 'Maiden Holmes' . Of course Maiden refers to her being female and 'Holmes' is as in Sherlock Holmes, the English Detective..............so "female Detective'.

Was watching this while waiting for Love and Redemption episodes to be released. Ditched Love and Redemption (story became too melodramatic for me) and focused on this instead. Very glad I jumped the bandwagon. This series deserves much more acclaim. Into my 2nd watch, and I still enjoy it. On the surface it seems like your average idol drama, but there is something about it that gels together so well. The series, if broken down into parts, runs like a collection of Most Common Idol Drama Cliches. However, the mystery solving whips the story along, lending a pace to events that always managed to keep my attention. Despite the cliches, most of the emotional bonding scenes sought not necessarily to be original, but more to capture the feel of the moment, to make it look as organic as possible. I'm really impressed with that. And proof of this is seen in the BTS.
To be fair, this production does have it's unique elements e.g. Su Ci's adorable recital of police hierarchy whenever she gets anxious. It's such a rare thing to see a human idiosyncrasy used to illustrate a character on screen these days. Later in the series, when Su Ci and Pei Zhao are formally a couple, attention was consistently paid to even their body posture (I will not spoil that with what I mean). The little things that may be missed but count the most, this series paid homage to. This series may be far from original, but it has been the most heartwarming thing I have seen this year.

I couldn’t agree more! You capture my thoughts exactly and why I love this drama so much. It’s really these small details and human touch that make the scene not so cliche but natural and specific just to this couple. This happens more and better later when they are a couple and their affection for each other is so well displayed in scenes where they are just openly speaking to each other about their past and their future hopes. No kissing or anything but nonetheless just as romantic and heartwarming. I just adore this drama and will be sad when it ends.

They do kiss tho haha and those certain moments when they do are veryy sweet and tender.....becoz the timing of those kisses are so meaningful and special. They aren't random or 'accidental' ones which is a common cliché in other dramas. That's why it's even more romantic to me....and I also love when they are simply being affectionate with each other because it just seems really natural and lovely overall without feeling forced 😍💘

My Unicorn Girl. Also starring Sebrina Chan. In the theme of Amanda Bynes in 'She's the Man' - less slapstick, more mild comedy. Has some interesting premises for conflict between characters. Nice twist to the ending. The best slomo romantic dance scene I've seen in a while.
The Heiress. Disappointing ending. But the best performance in cross-dressing probably of this year. I love laissez faire behaviour masking an actually cunning and intelligent mind. Cdramas seem to be following a trend of poor quality ending these days. If The Heiress had handled their ending better, it would give Maiden Holmes a good run for it's money.
@@midnightseahorse thank you for the suggestion! I am currently watching the heiress... I feel like maiden Holmes is better. What really made this drama stand out is the fact that the ML is gentle. I got really tired of the cold, emotionless, "tough" male leads in cross dressing dramas these days.
One of the other dramas that I really enjoyed that is probably just as good as Maiden Holmes is "fake princess". The girl can fight, there's double agents, and she's really smart.

The only historical drama that has me completely hooked right now though is Love and Redemption....I've watched up to 27 eps soo quick already omg....each ep is just amazingly beautiful or heart wrenching in some way to where no other drama can compare or outshine it in my heart at this point.
