Their Three Sisters in Banker’s Hill make great pies too. They are my go-to for pizza since the use the spicy little ‘cuppie’ pepperonis I love! I’ve missed those. My friend who is a New York Times columnist from Manhattan only goes here and he is a total NYC pizza snob. 😝
We order Long Island Mike's everyone other Friday. We LOVE it! So good. We have been to all 5 pizza joints except, Paulys. We will try them soon. :) Thanks for the video.
All these look like solid places. I really dug Landini's when I first went. Pro Tip for anyone ordering a whole pie, get it well done. Seems like if you order a slice, you automatically get a well done slice because they throw those slices back in the over for you. When I went back and ordered a pie, well done, it also came out nice and crispy. Ordered another pie. Forgot to ask for it well done and it was a lot more floppy. Good, but I prefer no flop to my slices.
I can only vouch for 2 places in North County. Pizzamaniac in Vista. Ben went to Brooklyn to learn the making of the pizza. White Stone & Presto Pesto are highly recommended. Spirito's in Carlsbad. Mike is a paisano from Elizabeth, NJ. He was on Guy Fiery show, besides pizza I can recommend his cheese ravioli with meat sauce, really like at NJ diner.

In NJ - La Gondola Pizzeria in Ramsey with Grandma Pizza slice - thin square crust, fresh mushrooms, spinach, red onions and plum tomatoes with mozzarela cheese. Also they have your favorite Buffalo Chicken Pizza (and additional 25 different style pizzas).
I do put Parmesan and red pepper. I don't fold it in half but I do bend it a bit if it's floppy. I first went to Luigi about 2012 and been going now and then. I live in LA so don't go often. Went this past Sunday. This is amazing pizza! Like you, I prefer the Golden Hill location. Luigi used to work at The Bronx before he opened his shop.

We are lucky to have SO MANY excellent New York style pizza places here in San Diego. It started with ONE. Bronx Pizza. Now they are everywhere. Try Fresco Pizzeria in Torrey Highlands near Westview High School and East Coast Pizza in Cardiff. Both outstanding.

Because of this video. We decided on Pizzeria Luigi's (but the location on el cajon blvd) for Valentine's day. We got half and half for Capone, Crime scene, blonde, buffalo chicken. & a whole pepperoni.

Jaycation. I actually went to the pizzeria you recommend on a past video. LI Mikes in Spring Valley. Yo I was born and raised in Jersey and this was pretty darn close and the price of a pie was cheap! Did you every go to the spot in Poway I had recommended? As a true pizza conursour , I always add (which is not available often with SD pizzerias) garlic powder, oregano, red flakes, and parmesan. These condiments are always in arms reach in the east coast. No need to ask like I have to here in SD. One good way to notice if a person is from the east coast is how the fold their slices to eat. Not 100% true but just little something I noticed.

Bronx pizza is the best pizza in San Diego I pick that for my birthday dinner ever year and eat it like 2-3 times a week
Etna and Little Italy in East San Diego , Fillipi's Pizza Grotto, Venetian, DiMille's in Normal Heights are my SD Pizza spots.
You should give Spirito’s Italian Diner in Carlsbad a shot next time you are in North County.
