You cannot go wrong with Bronx. Used to head over to Sushi Deli on Washington. If it had a long line, just walked across to Bronx instead. A great back up plan 🍕

Their Three Sisters in Banker’s Hill make great pies too. They are my go-to for pizza since the use the spicy little ‘cuppie’ pepperonis I love! I’ve missed those. My friend who is a New York Times columnist from Manhattan only goes here and he is a total NYC pizza snob. 😝

We order Long Island Mike's everyone other Friday. We LOVE it! So good. We have been to all 5 pizza joints except, Paulys. We will try them soon. :) Thanks for the video.

I can only vouch for 2 places in North County. Pizzamaniac in Vista. Ben went to Brooklyn to learn the making of the pizza. White Stone & Presto Pesto are highly recommended. Spirito's in Carlsbad. Mike is a paisano from Elizabeth, NJ. He was on Guy Fiery show, besides pizza I can recommend his cheese ravioli with meat sauce, really like at NJ diner.

@@Jaycation Yes, in Manhattan - It's Bleecker Street Pizza with Nona Maria. In NJ - La Gondola Pizzeria in Ramsey with Grandma Pizza slice - thin square crust, fresh mushrooms, spinach, red onions and plum tomatoes with mozzarela cheese. Also they have your favorite Buffalo Chicken Pizza (and additional 25 different style pizzas).

I'm an ex Ny'er and this list is pretty strong. I'd agree with adding Milos is the College area and Long Island Mikes has a location in Spring Valley too. Hey Paulie (and Monet), you do know you're the best.

Just found your channel. Loving the content, Moved here from NYC / NJ 5 years ago and looking for that cheese slice that reminds me of home. Bronx, Best, and Paulie's are pretty close. Going to try LI Mike's and Luigi's soon. Landini's and NYG are meh. Always fold
I do put Parmesan and red pepper. I don't fold it in half but I do bend it a bit if it's floppy.
I first went to Luigi about 2012 and been going now and then. I live in LA so don't go often. Went this past Sunday. This is amazing pizza! Like you, I prefer the Golden Hill location.
Luigi used to work at The Bronx before he opened his shop.
Because of this video. We decided on Pizzeria Luigi's (but the location on el cajon blvd) for Valentine's day. We got half and half for Capone, Crime scene, blonde, buffalo chicken. & a whole pepperoni.

Really enjoyed the New York Style foldable pizzas from some spots I went to late night after the nightclubs in Gaslamp! Really soaked up the alcohol!
Those are all garbage "must-be-drunk-to-enjoy" slices made by practically the same Chaldean guy. No good pizza in the GL any more.

We are lucky to have SO MANY excellent New York style pizza places here in San Diego. It started with ONE. Bronx Pizza. Now they are everywhere. Try Fresco Pizzeria in Torrey Highlands near Westview High School and East Coast Pizza in Cardiff. Both outstanding.
Me and my girlfriend watched the DDD episode with Pizzeria Luigi on it, we immediately drove to SD and got 2 pizzas.

Jaycation. I actually went to the pizzeria you recommend on a past video. LI Mikes in Spring Valley. Yo I was born and raised in Jersey and this was pretty darn close and the price of a pie was cheap! Did you every go to the spot in Poway I had recommended? As a true pizza conursour , I always add (which is not available often with SD pizzerias) garlic powder, oregano, red flakes, and parmesan. These condiments are always in arms reach in the east coast. No need to ask like I have to here in SD. One good way to notice if a person is from the east coast is how the fold their slices to eat. Not 100% true but just little something I noticed.

Actually, for Bronx, you can use that parking if you get a beverage from that liquor store there. Nice people in there and they have every beer you can think of or sodas you can’t get most places. I’m a local, so...spread the love.

@@Jaycation at Long Island Mike’s it’s 3 dollars for the cheese pizza and 375 for the slices with toppings great price and great pizza. I tried the cheese, pepperoni mushroom and the buffalo chicken.
Glad you went to L.I Mikes but you neglected Mom and Doms --- Amazing slices - family owned and ran - clairemont Mesa blvd and shawline - awesome lunch special - for cupped pepperoni try Nicolosi's in San Carlos - they have a "sicillian Pep" pie which is a round not typical square sicillian with fresh mozz and a ton of cup n char pep -

Jaycation,I used to go to Ciro's Pizza on Market Street on. Market Street around 6th Ave. To me is equivalent to Ray's Pizza back in Greenwich Village in New York City.
Long island Mike's is bomb I discovered it just before the rona, buffalo chicken is so bomb 👌

I went by Bronx Pizza today around lunch time, and wanted to stop by and try it, but parking in that area was a nightmare. I circled the block around three or four times, and finally gave up. There was a sign that said you had to pay to park now, which I was willing to do, but couldn't find a parking lot for them, or any paid parking lot.
Even 25 years ago, when they were new, we had to park blocks away and walk.
Being from NJ, Luigi's and Bronx's look on point.
What about Detroit-style pizza sometime? Angry Pete's is THE BOMB!
