If you say that you "don't see color," then you truly don't see a person for who they are. When you us, actually SEE us. Being black, Hispanic, Japanese, Chinese, etc. Is a huge part of our identity as a person.
I was around when this came out, and remember the backlash that was stirred up by folks who declared this to be a Communistic anthem! John Lennon was such a cheerleader for peace, and this was his way of calling out the institutions and factions that fomented war. To me, this was one of those sacred songs that could not be improved - until I saw PTX and their reinterpretation of the lyrics to focus on personal acceptance rather than global conflict. Such a vital message for our society today, plus they performed it beautifully, as always. Thanks for taking an interest in Pentatonix. Peace …
Imagine by Pentatonix may be one of the most important videos of this century. This group took a classic, timeless song of tolerance and peace and modernized it as only they can. They are a perfect example of what respect and love can be like and what it can accomplish. Five people with differences in race, religion, gender, and sexuality can do beautiful things when they work together. I cried when I saw and heard this the first time and I’m a straight white guy. I still usually tear up when they go into Wall of Sound mode.
I am so glad you've discovered Pentatonix and would love tp see more reactions from you. I think you would enjoy reacting to Blinding Lights, The Prayer, Sing, Daft Punk, 90's Dance Medley and My Heart With You as just a few of many, many I wanted to list to get a sampling of their immense talent and variety. And for Christmas in July (you don't have to wait until December with PTX) an absolute must view is their 2023 Video of O Holy Night. There's also their classic and defining upgrades of Hallelujah and The Sound Of Silence.
This arrangement is key to Pentatonix's success. If you go back to the NBC show "The Sing-Off" when they were going to do a song from Usher and Kevin's deep religious faith conflicted with the song. It took some time and finally Scott just said2 drop the line. Their mutual respect and love of each member is how they are able to uplift and encourage positivity and good energy. Kevin observes the Sabbath so PTX never performs or expects him at any event. There is no conflict. It's just who they are. This was the first time Scott publicly identified as gay. The shoot finished on time so afterwards he stopped by a friend's Birthday party and he met Mark. This is a very large rabbit hole, so that may night be your cup of tea. They own Christmas and you can find Kevin's vibe in the religious songs. Mary, Did You Know? Filmed in the old TV show Batman cave, in Griffith Park along with the Hollywood sign. The Prayer (Behind the Scenes) video of them performing. I Just Called to Say I Love you to O Holy Night. Hallelujah and Amazing Grace are year round songs. Kevin's 5th is his arraignment of classical music. Kevin's arraignment of O Come All Ye Faithfull will give you new thought to an old song. They toured with Kelly Clarkson years ago and calab with Megan Trainor to Torey Kelly and also Jason Derulo. Extremely large rabbit hole... Enjoy
This is my second time watching your reactions and girlwhere are your headphones?? PTX is so much better with them. Enjoying your reactions and looking forward to more! One of my favorite songs by them is one of their original songs called Sing. Please react to it❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for watching again and I totally need to get some new headphones and learn how to edit lining these up a little bit better with having the headset on I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong but I thoroughly am getting the experience I will for sure be doing more Pentatonix for you keep on jamming much love
Hi Love, I love PTX, and I’m glad you’re sharing this with me. This group owns Christmas, they really do the songs their own way. One of the best is Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, for which they won a Grammy. Another is their live performance of Kiss from a Rose. Get any headphones for now, even the ones from your phone will work until you get better ones. The good thing about that is that you can listen to the songs again to hear what you might have missed. There’s a young lady that I want to introduce you to, her name is Daneliya. She’s fourteen in the video below, it’s four years old. I would send you a link to her newest videos but I want to start slowly th-cam.com/video/QE1JhTUh6YI/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared Enjoy

O yes yes!! This is amazing. Pentatonix are outstanding. Listen to pentatonix songs or reactions to rheur songs EVERY DAY. That is my daily doses of dopamine. Appreciate you. Greetings from South Africa
We like to say that #Pentatonix doesn't do covers, they do upgrades, and for the most part it's true. But how do you upgrade a song that's already perfect? Well, if you're Pentatonix you look for a way to make that song more itself. In the case of "Imagine" Pentatonix treats the song and the song's writer with the utmost respect, and engages in a dialogue. John Lennon saw that things like religion and nationality divide us, so he suggested that we get rid of those things. But Pentatonix sees that it isn't possible to get rid of religions and nations, so they propose another solution. You see, the real problem is something much deeper than religion, or nationality, or even money. The real problem is the human tendency to reject people who are different. So Pentatonix looks for ways around that problem, and then they show us how a healthy community deals with differences. First Pentatonix looks for and finds the things they share with each other, the ways they're alike. And in the process they also find the things that make them individuals. And because they've already found the things that draw them together they can not only accept their differences but celebrate them. Doing that, looking at differences clearly and with love, gives them greater insight. It makes them a stronger, wiser, more compassionate community, and they all benefit from their diversity. Instead of dividing them diversity draws them together, until they can look at everyone and see the one thing that we all share - we're all human. And this means that when they meet someone who is very different indeed, in ways that otherwise might seem bizarre or dangerous, they can still see that fundamental truth, that we're all human, and we're all in this together. Unlike everyone in Pentatonix, I'm old enough to have heard John sing "Imagine" live. And that means I'm old enough to have the evening news from December 8th, 1980 seared on my memory: John Lennon, dead. Killed by an assassin who ambushed him when he was coming home after an evening out with his wife, Yoko. For those of us who remember that night, the grief and shock remain as strong now as they were over 43 years ago. John had only 40 years on this planet. We have no way to know what else he would have given us if he'd been able to live out his full life; all we know is what he DID give us, his perfect anthem, "Imagine." I wish he'd been able to see this video. It would have made him so proud.
two others that apply to these crazy times are 'mad world' and 'prayers for this world'.
If you say that you "don't see color," then you truly don't see a person for who they are. When you us, actually SEE us. Being black, Hispanic, Japanese, Chinese, etc. Is a huge part of our identity as a person.
A amazing performance of an amazing song.

This has been one of my favorite songs of all time…..since it came out by John Lennon. At 66 yo, I never tire of hearing it.
