Great to see my old favourite home airfield Halfpenny Green in the limelight . I’ve been living overseas many years and don’t get back to HG very often , so many thanks Ben for the chance to see the airfield again ,although I’m now more homesick than ever . Cheers and stay safe .
Great video =) i enjoy the fact that you don't cut much of it as it really teaches me a lot about your thought processes and how it pays to think ahead throughout the flight.
Another great video. I’m hoping to make it to Halfpenny green either Wednesday or Thursday for my QXC. The plan is Gloucester, Cardiff, Halfpennny Green and back to Gloucester. Fingers crossed for some good WX now
Thank you for a good UK video, we need more UK flying as so much utube is US Pilots and while great viewing I miss not having more UK or even European content.
I was wondering, basically I'm doing my ppl rn but next year I'm going for commercial training and I need to pass an entry assessment which is provided by flight deck wingman and ik areos flight school have the same assessment partner, please can you make a video about it especially touching on the phycometric testing
Great video Ben! Learned something new in this one, when you said "QSY" at 18:27 I had to Google that as hadn't heard that before. Is that different to saying "request frequency change" or similar?
@@PlaneOldBen ever had a controller not be familiar with QSY? Agreed it's a bit less of a mouthful than "request frequency change". Wasn't covered in my Comms PPL syllabus but maybe still covered in an ATS course?
Ben, did you file a flight plan in order to get your zone crossings ? I read NATS want flight plans for crossings during COVID-19 due to reduced workforce.
Thanks for another great video Ben - are you aware there were an awful lot of ads on this one? Probably one every 5 mins - I believe YT have changed their default ad settings recently so if you hadn't agreed to this it might be worth double checking. I think @theflyingreporter had a similar issue recently.
Thanks Ben, another video from my neck of the woods near EGNX 👍
Cheers Jeff! Great place to fly around.

Sorry for making you homesick haha! Thanks for watching, David.
Just discovered these today...absolutely love them. Ben thanks for sharing these, listened to the interview you gave. You are an insperation 😀
Ah thank you very much, Janis!
Just started my PPL journey at Nottingham. Cool to see you flying here!
Another enjoyable and interesting flight. Great footage of East Midlands on the "fly-Over". Thanks for sharing ✈✈✈✈✈
Thanks again, Ken!

I try to keep in as much as possible!
Love your vids. I’m a big fan from Germany !!!! Keep it up
Thank ,you
Excellent video Ben! Even spotted my house as you were exiting EMA airspace to the south west!! Keep them coming!!
That’s fantastic!
Roy, get yer mower out ;-)
(Jesting!)
Very nice. Well put together as usual 👍
Cheers, Charlie, as always!
Great to see some new vids, and digging the upbeat soundtrack.
Haha cheers buddy hope you’re well!
Literally saw my house as you took off from Nottingham airport, I practically live at the end of the runway :D
That’s cool!
Entertaining video again Ben. I especially enjoy the choreographed SD/outside shots, which provides in-depth details of your position and route 👌👍
Thanks as always, Kevin!
Another great video.

Good luck with the QXC!
Really enjoy your videos Ben, thank you.
Aw thanks Colin!
These MSFS2020 graphics are so realistic!
😏
Crazy aren’t they.
..detail re pesky flies v windshield is pretty incredible! ; )
Thank you for a good UK video, we need more UK flying as so much utube is US Pilots and while great viewing I miss not having more UK or even European content.
I’m back uploading as normal now!
I think Ben kind of started the UK revolution! :)
There is just some thing I like about Wolverhampton
Same! Always a really great place to visit.
Wonderful video! As always, love hearing all of the ATC!
Cheers, Christopher!
Great vid. A video dedicated to the skyecho use and features would be good.
I considered that but I feel it’s nicer to show it off in the natural environment, this shows it’s use across three videos and how it helps.
Great video Ben, seemed pretty busy at Wolverhampton!
It was quite a busy join with lots of radio chatter, joining overhead worked out nicely I think!
just followed your video and replicated the same flight in xp11 on vatsim with full coverage from London Control learnt soo much thank you
That’s really nice to hear!
@@PlaneOldBen I'm going to be starting my PPL these videos with East Midlands and tollerton really help
Legend.
Great as always Ben
Cheers, Mark!
Great vid as usual!
Thanks a lot buddy!
Enjoyed that Ben, excellent stuff! Pretty much routing down the 'Lich corridor' but at a much more leisurely pace! (Subbed+liked) cheers.
Ah thanks a lot, Ed!
Nice I live less then a mile from Nottingham Airport.
Perfect for learning to fly then!
I miss you Ben ...I really do miss you on here .
I’m back now, don’t worry!
Wow busy at Wolverhampton.
Nice to see GA busy again!
Hi ben love the video! How much did ur CPL cost?
Sorry to hear (via flightdeck2sim) about the redundancy, Ben - sure you'll be snapped up soon. All the best
Hey Plane Old Ben , can you do a video on how we can receive help for ATPL and other things to become a commercial pilot?
Which Epaulets Are PPL Pilots Allowed To Wear?
I was sort of hoping/convinced this was fs2020. I live near Wolverhampton airport so it was like, "I'm gonna see my area".
Hahaha sadly not!
It’s an old ‘Q-Code’ which I don’t believe is taught anymore but it’s just very easier than saying request frequency change, albeit not standard!
@@PlaneOldBen ever had a controller not be familiar with QSY? Agreed it's a bit less of a mouthful than "request frequency change". Wasn't covered in my Comms PPL syllabus but maybe still covered in an ATS course?
All the controllers seem to know about it, it was used in PPL flying when I first started int the late 00’s and I’ve just carried on.
@@PlaneOldBen thanks Ben!
Ben, did you file a flight plan in order to get your zone crossings ? I read NATS want flight plans for crossings during COVID-19 due to reduced workforce.
I didn’t, no,
You can either pre file or just call up and give them your details like ben did.
Hi Ben, in your opinion is 33 too old to start a PPL with the aim of flying commercially? Thanks
No it's not! I know a 47yo new Commercial Pilot, and he flies a passenger jet. It's never too late if you're determined and work hard.

Probably one every 5 mins - I believe YT have changed their default ad settings recently so if you hadn't agreed to this it might be worth double checking. That’s interesting I’ll take a look! Thanks for watching.
Adblock Plus . . .
Tollerton! been too long!
How long is the runway?
Why did you climb out at between 80/90 kits .?
Because the aircraft was light and I wanted to progress the ground track more than gaining altitude,
Hi Ben. Is chance to get discounts for honeycomb alpha yoke ?
Check out my video about my home simulator!
Are you working for RVL now ?
I’m not!
hey there i have a question can you become a comerical pilot with a light aircraft pilot license and can you add night rating on to the lapl
Hi - you’ll need to upgrade your LAPL to PPL :)
Anyone know the easiest way to get started in flight training in the US any programs etc?
How much and how long does it take to get ppl from start
About £8-£10k and usually 18/24 months.
Hi! I’m 14 and when I turn 18 I want to go and get my own pilots licence anywhere you recommend around Manchester?
Look at High-G Flight Training at Blackpool.
How much you pay for SkyDemon for 1 year ?
It tells you on their website.
Welcome to wolverdumpton
Thanks for having me!
