Just gotten back from Santorini a week ago....whole place was so dreamy and I still haven't really snapped out of it. The moment I arrived at the port in Thira, I was truly, utterly, gobsmacked! It made me feel so tiny that such a place existed in this world. Sunsets in Oia might be overrated to some but I would strongly suggest it to anyone to go for it, for that once in your lifetime experience. It's nothing like you've ever seen before...look up for some TH-cam suggestions on where you can go for that amazing sunset view. I've had my best 7-days trip in Santorini and would never forget it!

I traveled to Santorini many times 1989-1994, nursing a broken heart, moving from Ohio in the US to Athens, Greece and this island is like no other. It wasn’t as touristy then and more casual, but it is a special place. I still haven’t forgotten my old friend, but moving to Greece then was an incredible experience. I love Greece!

Thank you. Amazing video. Makes me think about returning to Oia one day for that sunset. I have seen the sunset from Fira. But in Mykonos, I witnessed the most amazing sunset of my entire life.
As much as Monastero Santa Rosa is my favorite seaside video, this comes within an inch of being the best.
Oh I loved Santorini. Absolutely beautiful. We saw an amazing sunset. The views are incredible and we had the best grilled Halloumi cheese there.

Once again, Greece my dream destination, and Santorini is the exact spot, all of these sites are blowing me away, i could live in this place and not get home sick, love how the houses are on a cliff over looking the sea, best fresh air, i like simplicity and elegance. Lots of attractive feature with this property, i love the views of the sea, i'm a water baby, very nice property.
I went to Oia in October..literally five mins walk away from the Canavas cave hotel.
I didn't stay in a luxury hotel,but a budget hotel is just as good as you have the same wonderful views,you could try a cheaper hotel in Fira and simply get the local bus into Oia,It takes about 20 mins and only costs €1.60...you can also get some great cheap street food, a Gyro's from a street stall is about €2.90 in a restaurant it's MUCH more.
The main bus station is in Fira and from their you can get to most places In about 30 mins,Akotiri is lovely too.
If you want to explore Santorini it would be better to stay at a budget hotel because at a place like this you'd be tempted never to leave it and that would be a shame.

We spent 4 days @ikieshotel July of this year and loved every minute of our stay. There are deals to be had on Oia and Ikies was less money and I had the same view as some of the more expensive options. Santorini is awesome. The best poolside naps I have ever taken were taken in Oia. Just the right amount of shade under the umbrella, temp, and wind. I believe no matter the hotel the views will be spectacular. Thanks for taking me back to Oia on this work Monday morning! Staff of the hotel was so friendly as well.

I had a week in Santorini for a friends wedding in 2010. They were married outside a chapel on top of the cliff. Hot but beautiful! Then a lovely sunset dinner on a restaurant terrace overlooking the caldera. Did you do one of the sailboat cruises while you were there? They were beautiful. You can get out and go and walk on the volcano edges (very hot underfoot!) and swim in sulphur pools. A holiday to remember!
Yes, I went on one of the sailboats during my holiday in Santorini. I did not film during the excursion though. I wanted to relax and take in the astonishingly beautiful scenery without my camera. Safe travels!
With my wife we visited Santorini a few years ago, staying in the city of Megalohori which allowed us a different appreciation of the island. As they invite you to reveal the tips of the trips to Santrini, I give you mine: 1.- The island's bus system works quite well and it is more comfortable if you are going to drink alcohol, yes, the hours are not very long ( if not wrong, it works only until 8 pm); 2.- Not only do they stay with the locals and restaurants in the busiest areas, there have been real wonders moving away a bit (for example, Elinikon restaurant, in Oia), and 3.- Although the beaches and beaches are the most popular attractions Busy, be sure to visit the ruins of Akrotiri and a vineyard, they are unforgettable experiences.

I am not sure that anyone else experiences what happen to me when I stay at places like this. The setting and breathtaking scenery absolutely causes me to lose all concentration on almost anything else. I cannot read a single page of a book. I cannot remember a single line of a script. I literally am unable to concentrate on anything. It is a place that after awhile I have to escape from.
The simplicity of all white paint makes a village beautiful. And the white brick floor too.
My husband & I got married in Santorini just a little further around the cliff from Oia. It was so magical and stunning. The people are all so friendly, the food delicious! I recommend the island to everyone. The beaches on the other side of the island are beautiful as well we often stay in Perissa, yummy tavernas, snorkling, inspirational greek churches and lovely vibes. The camera really doesn't do it justice and needs to be seen in person. Thank you for the video, I love seeing all the amazing places you explore & was so excited for you to do Santorini xx

Would like to visit one day. Have been to several of the Cyclades islands in the past: Mykonos, Naxos, Paros and Delos but not Santorini for some reason.

Before i travel to a new Hotel i always read Tripadvisor comment, just to have an idea on what is going on in this Hotel....But Tripadvisor is not always very "sincere"...
Please make a second channel uploading your videos without the text. They are good, but sometimes we would prefer without, speciallyon a second run.
It has been my goal to get there. First I must do all 50 states, which I have done. Then I can go but I have 5 dogs that are all seniors and I refuse to leave my beloveds. Greece or no Greece my dogs come first. Thanks for sharing.
I was visiting greek friends this summer and we all went to Oia. It was by far the best vacation I have ever taken, we went to the bottom of the cliff and jumped off some huge rocks which I saw in the video lol.

Well, Dr. LTE, I guess when one is a world traveler like yourself, it was bound to happen that you would get your dates mixed up at some point. Glad to hear it all worked out and you didn't have to sleep on a chaise longue by the pool ;-) Of course you would have awakened to stunning views. If I were to visit Santorini I would opt for the off-season--looks quite crowded. Beautiful unique hotel. Buffet was awesome--champagne corner--yay! Eggs Bene for you, of course! I bid a fond farewell to the little red suitcase--I assume this is the final appearance :-( Looking forward to Singapore Airlines flight next week.

Breathtaking and gorgeous indeed. I mean Santorini...and the hotel, but not necessarily as what it brings as a PLUS to Santorini, who is so beautiful that need that much addition. I will say , though, that in some of your videos I don't care about the people on the site. The other guests. For how much I can foresee. I see a lot of flashy wealth, Middle Eastern looks , black beards, secluded, secreted, wealthy and somehow shady businesses men from Europe or Balkans with trophy women. I don't see myself socializing there. I didn't see one inspiring nice face.

I was.in Santorini and stayed in Oia 11 months ago. Such a fantastic place to visit. Great seafood. Visit Ammoudi Bay and eat seafood there. Oia is magnificent and breath-taking.

If u stop in perissa that’s a much cheaper option I could never afford to stop here but visit in the day my parents don’t have much and stop in hostels there great have a pool etc x
That's exactly what I said last year, after seeing the hotel prices in Oia. But...this year I found a way to get to Oia. Look for Celestyal Crystal cruise. They have the best offer for visiting Mykonos, Milos, Crete, and especially Santorini. 48 hours in Santorini. No other ship on this planet does that. And the price is amazingly low. Oia was my dream for more than 15 years. So, yes, dreams come true, you just need to....never give up. Good luck! Hope you live in Europe, otherwise the flight ticket will cost you extra.
Edit. Oh, there is a public FREE pool in Oia, so you can sit, relax and imagine you are in an expensive hotel. It worked for me.
“We can’t afford EVERYTHING but we can afford ANYTHING” of this is one of your goals save towards it work an extra job, do Lyft or UBER, do side jobs. Whatever it is dedicate a little money at a time to that dream. 🍃
This has brought back memories of when hubby and I stayed here. It really is other worldly! We hired a quad bike to explore the island. It doesn’t take long, It’s a small island. It’s the most chilled island I’ve stayed on. I’d definitely go back.

The whole Hotel area is very cramped and the suites lack of privacy. The designation as "most amazing hotel" is excessively exaggerated.
