"Not Known". In 1999, I had to call all over the Southwest to find one. When I did, it was 100 miles away and I gave the dealership my credit card info to place a deposit. It was still on the truck and not even checked in yet. I made him hide both sets of keys until I got there on Saturday AM. When I went to pick it up the salesman was arguing with the sales manager, who wanted to take the truck to lunch. I just walked up and said, "Hi, I'm here to pick up my Lightning." At that point the sales manager turned and walked away. And I had a wonderful 100 mile drive home. Cut to 2019. I still have it. It has 89,000 on the clock. I drive it every day. They will have to bury me in it.
Last year I called a Chevy dealer regarding a Silverado I wanted to buy and they said COME ON IN! I get to the dealer and the truck isn’t there.. (mind you it was about a 45 minute drive) the sales manager said “I thought it was here”. One of the office guys took the truck to lunch and I waited over TWO HOURS for this buffoon to get back. When the guy got back he started frantically removing his personal items from the back, had a drink in the cup holder LIKE IT WAS HIS TRUCK. All infront of ME the customer. The manager was PISSED 😂 im not sure what happened to the guy but I’m pretty he lost his job. After we test drove & negotiated he dropped 1500 from the final price for the experience AND had it detailed while we signed paperwork. Free oil change for a year as well
Maybe in a straight line lol. But just to prove you wrong. The rx7 pushing nearly any amount of N2O would best the lightning. Not by much with a 100 shot. But would HAPPEN for sure. And we know Doms Rx7 was juiced lol
+JaVvii3 i was bleeesed to have them both..for me those are cars are my dream cars. both were oxford .yup..i have a14 gt coyote oxford also to my my terminator..lighting will strike back and will have again
One of the most underrated and overlooked performance vehicles ever, and I love it. So much fun being overlooked when you pull up next to someone, or underestimated, and blowing their doors off, IN A TRUCK! Lol. Reactions are priceless, especially corvette and challenger owners, for some reason they seem to get pretty ruffled lol 😆
I am from Germany and one year ago I bought one. This one of the greatest cars I have ever driven. With every mile I drive it makes me happier. It has a lot of upgrades as the valve box of the transmission, suspension and it makes 13 psi boost. If it is straight it is a real killer, if not you just must be brave. With some work on the steering wheel is a lot possible. I love it. Everytime you open the throttle I get that smile as seen on your face!!!!! I had so many (fast) cars but no one was that fun. It is a real giver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since I was in 8th grade I always wanted a Ford Lightning, I'm 20 years old and I still want one just got to finish college. Everyone gives ford a lot of hate but these trucks and are one of a kind
LightningDad13 you probably won’t see this but I’m looking at getting one and I live in Seattle. How is it in the rain. I’m sure if you drive normal it’s probably fine.
+ThatDudeinBlue Nice truck! I want a Terminator cobra so bad. Reminded me of your review on that black termi..But how come you mention this truck has horrible fuel economy but the termi is rather decent? Because of the auto tranny? Just curious! Good review bro!
+archinuk417 it pretty much is already. I always have people pull up next to me, get blown away, then give me the wierdest looks like wtf just happened. I don't know if its cause noone knows what they are or what, but it happens on a daily basis lol
Here in Ohio the exhaust gives it away.. That style is illegal here unless stock, most are reluctant to run the exhaust all the way to the back.. But that's all that gives it away.
My grandfather had one. I was only 10 at the time, but I still remember smoking a Porsche Boxter and an '03 Mach 1. He had a pulley and exhaust and that's it. He would do burnouts and fly-bys for us (he was almost 70). I still miss that supercharger whine.
I disagree with your statement being that this truck was unknown. Actually quite the opposite, and in fact their was a previous generation of the lightning before this. Maybe your age group have no idea what this truck was. But most people knew what a Lightning was all about, and instantly recognized it in FF.
Agreed. When I was 16 and they came out in 99 I loved them and would go look at them at the dealerships. People who knew American performance knew exactly what a L was. And in 99 18's where considers pretty large diameter performance wheels he'll in 99 Chevy and Dodge truck wheels didn't get over 16". A was quite a cool looking and noticeable truck in its day. It certainly didn't look like your basic F150. I now own a 03 L, 03 Cobra, and 88 GT. If you feel that the L inspires -1 confidence then you must feel that a pre-05 Mustang or old Fbody installs -10 confidence as a L is a much more competent and more modern platform. Not as fast HP for HP but easily more forgiving of a platform. Also a L has a 9.75" rear end just like every other 5.4L F150 Ford ever sold, plus a stock L makes around 9 psi and maybe close to 10 psi on a cool day. Btw a L's weight distribution is crappy but it's the same as a Terminators and better than a iron block GT500's. It has a F/R weight distribution of 57/43. Little know fact on the Gen 2 L's is they came with the old 7 lug half ton F250 and F150 7700 GVW trucks heavy duty package with has larger calipers and a beefed up frame it just didn't come with the 7 lug wheels. It makes buying parts a pita as it's the only short bed regular can truck offered with that package so many Lightning specific part like parking brake cables and things like that.
JROC734 You and me must be the same age then. Because yea the Lightning was the shit then, but obviously the price, limited production, and insurance rates hindered their popularity amongst the youth market. So I can kind of see where he thinks that way, but honestly every car or truck guy knew a Lightening when they saw it. The ground effects, the front bumper, the clear tails were all give aways, before you see and hear it disappear!
you can tell this guy does not know shit about cars. He and his buddies habe the parents pay for their car stuff and i bet he probably goes on Wikipedia to look up info before doing videos.
***** Yea you can tell he comes from an affluent area. Like every single car he reviews has the best of the best parts and it belongs to some kid who probably still lives with mommy and daddy and has no real bills.
Great Review. I have a 2001 Lightning. Mine has been brought back to stock with just a few modifications to bring it up to the 21st century. She is a torque beast, and once you drive one all the time, you just get used to it. Overall, yes it does always put a smile on my face and everyone is always asking me questions about it. I hope to keep it one the road for many more years :)
+Shawn Prickett In South Texas they're relatively common. Some family friends actually have two. Though not sure if they still do, last I saw one of them in person was years ago. Until last year you could usually find about a dozen through CarMax but I think they got too old.
I own a Lightning and let me tell you, I still love it!! My truck is 14 years old, and I can still put some of the new muscle cars to shame. Thanks for finally showing the old "Fast Ford" truck some love.
I bought brand new and still own a 2003 lightning. It has 380 hp and 450 torque lbs from the factory. They also boost at 8lbs, but for around 5 dollars you can install a boost bypass valve which can give you up to 2 additional lbs of boost. I hope this helps. Nice review.
@@lollol-xp4mc it's a common mod. To at least plug the silencer holes when you gotta pull the sc for maintenance or repairs. No one puts it back on stock. At least plug the holes with jb weld if nothing else 😜.
I have a 2003 f-150 and it drives like a dream. I think mine has the 5.4L Triton engine. I love the thing. It still drives like a dream and it has about 235,000 miles on it. They sound about the same but that one has the supercharger, probably a better intake, different manifold, headers, exhaust, tires, and differential.
A few things.... 1. This year model had 380hp not 390 like the 03-04 cobras 2. The lightnings were quite well known when that movie was released but I think a particular age group might not have known much about them when they came out. 3. Stock boost I believe is 9.3psi from what Ford said but that truck is probably hitting 10psi because of his mods and the cooler weather. 4. My gosh I forgot how sluggish that 4R100 was. Lol
I am a proud 03 Lightning owner. If I'm feeling sad nothing makes me grin like a Cheshire cat listening to that whine. So perfect. No reason to modify anything in mine. Waited in line for dealerships to call me. 3 weeks later I got it.
Dude this thing is like.... not right lol. Something that big should not move that fast. And I know that thing has an old 4 speed auto with long ass gears... so for it to move through them that quick... its like a crime against nature lmao.
Had an '02 for 8 years. Loved every minute of it. The tail lights were the first thing to go on mine. Couldnt stand them either lol. Shift kit really wakes it up.
This video is actually how I found your channel. Back in February I came up on an 01 Lightning for sale and went through a bunch of hoops trying to get it, and the seller walked away literally in the financing office, breaking my heart. My dad had an 01 or 02 back in the day and I fell in love with them. Maybe one day.
I worked at a Ford dealership when these first came out, and I remember these being so hard to launch from a dig. You were either smoking the rear tires, or the trans would shift into 2nd too soon.
Good to see a lightning review definitely A very fun and reliable truck. I've Raced many cars with mine and most were shocked with the outcome of getting there swapped civic or cat fish Camaros walked by a truck.
DUDE! I never thought Id see a review of these. in the states, as far as I know, not many people mod these. But in other countries, like Jamaica for instance. My uncle (an r34 gtr owner) has one of these, semi stancy, SUPER fast, I DID NOT expect it to be so fast.
I played around with an SVT lightning yesterday in my turbo del sol, fast truck, he was in front of me and put the hammer down on an on ramp, I did as well and we were pretty much identical in acceleration, by the end of the on ramp I was at 102mph and shut down, he kept going to around 110.
+Junior Lopez I think probably the closest we will get to the sonic blue will be that color "BLUE FLAME" but you are right "SONIC BLUE" was an awesome color
I have an 04 Sonic Blue Lightning and never plan on parting ways with it for this exact reason lol. Mine's leveled out and lowered a bit with aftermarket 20" wheels. ported blower, Intake plenum, oval monoblade TB, CAI, MAF, pullied (blower, idler, etc), shift solenoid boost mod, and an SCT tune. Really fun lil toy but I need to put longtubes and cat back on. I you tube exhaust noises a lot and still haven't found an aggressive tone that I like.
+Maximum Velocity Cool, I know it's a fun ride I love the Lightning. You should try the Borla exhaust I think it sounds pretty aggressive and it frees up extra horse power
Colin noelle that big gas gussling 8.4l v10 only makes 390hp? Hahaha! This is a little 5.4l. No wonder dodge only sold like 2 or 3 of those pieces of shit.
+ThatDudeinBlue David, why do you type your sentences like a teenage idiotic girl? Putting lol at the end of sentences. I should smack the FUCK out of you for getting an attitude with your subscribers.
+JRC3JR "having an attitude." Because I said lol. I simply found it funny and ironic from what he said since it wasn't true. Not sarcasm. Would you rather me call him bad names for not paying attention? No. He simply made a mistake.
srt 10 are not as fast as lightnings.. yes its a v10 500 hp but they arent as fast as lightnings..i street raced a few and track.. mine ran 8.09 1/8 mile street tire swapped pullies upper and lower with a street tune
I have fond memories of the lighting. my dad got one when i was little and i still remember driving really fast on the back roads and doing burnouts for the hell of it
I had a black 02 Lightning and it ran very well. It was bone stock made 10 lbs and would run the 1/4 in 13 flat at 107mph on toyo proxey's was clocked with a calibrated gun at 155 mph. I popped the #8 sparkplug out of the head and blew the head gasket. that was with 100k miles on it as well. how? held it wide open for roughly 3-4 mins. the main thing I want to say is that it never said no, never had any problems with the motor or transmission. it still to this day is the most comfortable vehicle I've been in and I've even been told by my mom "this is more comfortable than my Cadillac". I'm currently looking for the dark blue 02. 02 is the only year they made the dark blue and it's the "rarest" of lightings. my black 02 was special and my friends and family loved it. I can't wait to have another one.
Just picked my lightning up a few days ago, same color too! Love the truck, didn’t know the taillights came stock like that. Only thing I dislike about the truck
I love the SVT Lightning. I've always wanted one. There are also two Lightnings in my neighborhood as well. Paired with a very loud 05-06 gt Mustang Coupe.
Miss my '03. Such a fun truck. I miss that whine. Stock boost was 8 lbs. I had a 6 lbs pulley, exhaust, and diablosport chip. It was always funny to watch the stock boost gauge get pegged past 10 lbs when on full boost. I never thought it was that sketchy. If you respect it, it will respect you. Just be ready to go sideways at any time and you'll be fine.
My last daily was an '03 Lightning. I loved that truck. Like you said, it was a tire wrecking, giggle machine. I traded it in for a 2011 coyote back in Feb. Just to let you know how much I loved the roots blower in the Lightning, I ordered a Brenspeed 710R Roush supercharger kit for my coyote last Sunday. Vids to come.
01-04 lightning has 380hp 450tq stock 99-00 had 360hp 440tq....not 390hp regardless tho....still one hell of a truck...only truck id ever want to own! :)
There was a guy around here when I was 18 (about 15 years ago) that had a Lightning with a manual that would whoop on almost everything around here that was willing to street race it. I had a turbo 92 Integra that made 256 HP to the wheels that doesn't sound like much but I beat my buddy's 5.0 95 Mustang with a Kenne Bell that made 600 at the wheels and that modified Lightning would whoop my ass everytime. It sounded amazing too. Such an amazing truck...
Dude in that 95 must have not known how to drive, that or 0 traction on some crappy tires, but I think its all of the above.. Plus those lil FWD cars can grip cuz they're so light power to weight ratio, so congrats on that W..
Hahaha! Right? Its crazy how fast the truck is considering it has a ridiculously slow, mushy shifting 4R100. Shift kit will make this truck much quicker. I had a 97 F150 2wd, short bed with a 5.4. I put a B&M street/strip shift kit, & it went from a mediocre 9 second 0-60 truck to a tire chirping sleeper that can hang with Impala SS's.
You probably won’t see this but I’m looking at buying one and I live in Seattle. How does it handle in the rain? Im sure if you drive normal it’s probably fine.
my uncle had one same year I'm pretty sure and color and he would pick me up from school sometimes when I was in like 2nd or 3rd grade and I always loved that supercharger whine and when it rained he would do burnout and drift U turns. fun badass trucks for sure lol
Just curious, where did you get the data that the Lightning didn't sell very well? Also, it's a 9.75 inch rear end vice the 9.5 you mentioned. Cool that it came from the factory with a BEEFY rear. And yes, this engine CANNOT be confused with the Ford GT engine. Factory HP was 380 HP with 450 FTLBS torque. Also, how are you correlating the Brian O'Connor thing with greater publicity for the Lightning? In all the forums I frequent, that might be one or two threads. Definitely not the "greater publicity" you mention. Tail lights kick ass! All the bitching aside, still love the vids man!
So a buddy of mine took me for a hell ride in his Lightening back in '06 maybe. The truck was definitely not an '06 or even an '03 like your buddy's. I'm not sure what year they came out with the Lightening, but if I remember correctly it was the older more boxy style. You could definitely feel the power, and you just knew that you were sitting in something special that, like you had mentioned, not too many people knew about. It really does look like an ordinary truck, and is not really a head turner. I must say I like that idea that it's a sleeper. Just an ordinary looking truck that masks amazing performance.
Own a ‘02 Red Lighting, scooped Hood, and a few other extras, took me two years to find it (a red one, stock), had it for four years now, still get a kick out of it (the sound) when I step on the gas, nothing in the world like it. And wouldn’t trade it for the world. They saying goes something like drive till it falls apart, I will and then put back together again. The Rams a pretty truck (stock), already with the hood scoop and fin, but I LOVE my Ford......🤙🏼❤️❤️❤️🤠
I would love to have a lightning for a DD. A classmate of mine when I was going to UTI had one. When he had it on the dyno and pulled of the top of the airbox the superchargers whine was almost deafening.
I was just thinking to myself that when I get my lightning, and put all the parts my dad never got to put on his back in 2003, I would drive all the way down to you from Detroit to have you review it 😃 that's one of my new goals!
+Christian Garcia So true, I live in Dallas and Latinos always stare at my truck…and the only people to ever come up to me and compliment it are Latino hahaha
friggin loved the idea of it! I have to say though, the new 3.5 Ecoboost ain't no slouch, and it's tightened up on all corners! I have a '15 F-150 XLT with the 5.0, and it's a horse and a half! It really wants to run everywhere rather than crawl...
the stock Trans is whack. I put a shift kit in my first Trans and it hit hard. now I have a built Trans with a race valve body and higher stall torque convertor. it shifts hard as hell and moves
SVT Lightning has always been a dream truck of mine. In Sonic Blue too!!! I'm not sure if its because of the location I live (East coast, US) but in all my years here I've only seen 1 on the road and 1 at a car show. That makes it even more desirable to me because of its rarity.
"Not Known". In 1999, I had to call all over the Southwest to find one. When I did, it was 100 miles away and I gave the dealership my credit card info to place a deposit. low-key one of the fastest cars in the fast and furious.
straight up
i always looked at the movie like damn i bet that lightning is faster than mkstly every car on this movie
i have a 2004 sonic blue lightning, 10psi on boost is stock.
Ikr told my little 8 yr brother that 😂😂😂

"Spool makes her drool. Blower whine makes her 69. Chrome gets you dome." -Ford engineers designing the SVT Lightning
Chrome, as they color match both bumpers, and put aluminum wheels on....
That truck is all about smiles per gallon :)
Scat pack charger does that.
Charger RT with muffler delete and res delete does that too.
Always wanted a 04 cobra and a lightning
what a great combo
i have a 03 and sold my 04 lightning
Hell yeah, having those two in the garage would be awesome
+JaVvii3 i was bleeesed to have them both..for me those are cars are my dream cars. both were oxford .yup..i have a14 gt coyote oxford also to my my terminator..lighting will strike back and will have again
Ford v10 trucks sounds like they put snakes in the exhaust
Imagine towing a Terminator to a race track with a Ford Lightning
Ha, ha. Years ago, I did an on-track event at Summit Point Raceway. A silver haired dude I think towed a Ford GT on a trailer, with a Lightning!
I spent soo much time trying to find out what truck Brian O'Connor was driving. I'm glad I know now
lol are you serious ..i live no more than a mile away from vin diesel house and where they sell tuna ..no crust!!!!..angelino heights
+fastest eaton lightning in socal east LA reppin

I use to have a built lightning. Had right around 503whp and ran on 16psi here in VA I love these trucks. Mine got 9mpgs at idle...
The Mexican mans dream car
Trevor Sisley not really😂
😂😂 a lot of mexicans dream of a chevy truck they look down on ford but whatever im mexican and this is my dream truck

That's no shit
Not really😂😂, I wanted a Chevy but I got a Ford instead, ima just get a Chevy too

"We Are The Lights" intro song with a Ford F-150 Lighting... I get you, David. I get you.
Great review!
Being a Lightning owner and fan myself I must say great review for not being a professional t.v. show. awesome job. Keep em Real and Keep em Fast!

@@radical86 It is fine. I daily one.
Thanks for watching guys and gals! What do you guys think of the lightning?!
+ThatDudeinBlue Now I want one lol
+ThatDudeinBlue I love it. Have had my 01 as a daily for a while. Definitely gets some looks when you're flying past some fbodies.
+ThatDudeinBlue I've been waiting for this one.

Feel my Murica as I pass you, I died
I'm 17 and I'm in love with this Truck & I'm going to do whatever it takes to own one
one of the fast and furious cars that didn't have 20+ gears 😂😂😂
I've always loved a whiny supercharger: they sound like kazoo kid!
Sam Bowmer id take a supercharger over a turbo any day
Take off the badges and you have a nice little sleeper there ;)
woodywoodcakes I would think that some young Yolo would pull up to it in his Honda and say "Oh it's just a truck." Then he gets smoked lol
+woodywoodcakes it doesn't look like anything special if you haven't heard of it tbh. I would consider it a sleeper.
+archinuk417 Don't forget the wheels, front spoiler and side skirts :)

I actually like those tail lights! I couldn't imagine the 03 lightning without them!
+X30N For some reason Subaru thought they were still cool until 2014. LOL!
+Blake's Garage Huh? Please explain.. I don't get it lol
TTime685 Subaru WRX/STI hatch form 08-14 had clear tail lights.
Blake's Garage Shit.. I think they look good/cool ;) And I think you forgot the 06-07 also lol
TTime685 Yeah its usually the first thing people change.

I've seen one in CenCal
I've seen atleast 5 in my city alone also in SOCAL

I own a Lightning and let me tell you, I still love it!! My truck is 14 years old, and I can still put some of the new muscle cars to shame. Thanks for finally showing the old "Fast Ford" truck some love.
I bought brand new and still own a 2003 lightning. It has 380 hp and 450 torque lbs from the factory. They also boost at 8lbs, but for around 5 dollars you can install a boost bypass valve which can give you up to 2 additional lbs of boost. I hope this helps. Nice review.
That supercharger wines loud, has been ported polished & the silencer holes plugged. You can also get 3 lbs by disconnecting the bypass valve.
Is that real? Can anyone confirm? That would be a sweet mod
I love it. That supercharger sound is amazing and the color is great.
I have a 03 SVT Focus and a 94 SVT Cobra...I would LOVE to add one of these to the stable haha.
Dude this thing is like.... not right lol. Something that big should not move that fast. And I know that thing has an old 4 speed auto with long ass gears... so for it to move through them that quick... its like a crime against nature lmao.
It has 3.73s in the rear..
+Nick Latronica There still extremely long, I have an 03 GT with 4.10's and the same transmission and it still pulls forever in the same gear.
+ZedlyBro Did you swap the stock 4R70 out for a 4R100?
+ZedlyBro Did you swap the stock 4R70 out for a 4R100?
J. Moore81 Your right we dont have the same transmission but they have the same stock gear ratio and are both a 4 speed
Had an '02 for 8 years. Loved every minute of it. The tail lights were the first thing to go on mine. Couldnt stand them either lol. Shift kit really wakes it up.
would you like some cheese for all that WHINE
This video is actually how I found your channel. Back in February I came up on an 01 Lightning for sale and went through a bunch of hoops trying to get it, and the seller walked away literally in the financing office, breaking my heart. My dad had an 01 or 02 back in the day and I fell in love with them. Maybe one day.
picked up an '01 about a month ago, love this truck.
How is it running?
@@davidalba6781 good, needs a few things replaced here and there but overall im happy
I bought my 02 Silver Lightning new in the Spring of 02, and I still own it. So that lets you know how much I Love it...
this is what I've been waiting for! I like how you try to review a variety of different cars.
I worked at a Ford dealership when these first came out, and I remember these being so hard to launch from a dig. You were either smoking the rear tires, or the trans would shift into 2nd too soon.
Good to see a lightning review definitely A very fun and reliable truck. I've Raced many cars with mine and most were shocked with the outcome of getting there swapped civic or cat fish Camaros walked by a truck.
that's awesome to see an awesome piece of automotive history like this on the channel. Watched it twice just for the truck.
Got these reviews back 2 back
DUDE! I never thought Id see a review of these. in the states, as far as I know, not many people mod these. But in other countries, like Jamaica for instance. My uncle (an r34 gtr owner) has one of these, semi stancy, SUPER fast, I DID NOT expect it to be so fast.
In places like California and Texas Lightnings are one of the common modded trucks
+Diego Montoya (Fxkk Sxcietyy) You guys should YT search "SSThis", you'll love the vid
+Chris Rife I live in mass I don't think I've ever even seen one here. I know Delaware is big on them I seen a lot down there
look up la sonic bullz its a lightning out here in Cali its pretty fast
I'd love to have one of these, or even just an F150 of this style in good condition with no rust issues
10th gens are some of the best trucks you could ever own. My first truck was an 01 lariat 5.4 f150. I would get another 97-03 5.4 in a heartbeat
I played around with an SVT lightning yesterday in my turbo del sol, fast truck, he was in front of me and put the hammer down on an on ramp, I did as well and we were pretty much identical in acceleration, by the end of the on ramp I was at 102mph and shut down, he kept going to around 110.
I just sold my 04' Sonic Blue Lightning and I'm starting to regret it😕😕😕😕😕
+Junior Lopez I wish Ford would bring back that color. I had an '04 Mustang with the same. I got compliments all the time on that color.
+Arutha258 Yep, I feel you bro. I also got compliments everywhere I went. Very rare and very nice
You should try the Borla exhaust I think it sounds pretty aggressive and it frees up extra horse power
my dad used to have a lightning with a tune, lower pulley, and a bassani exhaust. still one of my favorite vehicles ive ever driven.
Find a Ram SRT-10!
dodge sux
lightning
Millionaires Club LLC DODGE ALL THE WAY
Millionaires Club LLC that’s why the srt10 motor makes the same power as this truck... and it’s not boosted..
Colin noelle that big gas gussling 8.4l v10 only makes 390hp? Hahaha! This is a little 5.4l. No wonder dodge only sold like 2 or 3 of those pieces of shit.
Why no engine bay shot in the intros for you're review?
I get the engine bay nearly every video...lol
+ThatDudeinBlue my bad I rewatched the video and saw you did I must of looked away my bad. Love the you videos.
+ThatDudeinBlue David, why do you type your sentences like a teenage idiotic girl? Putting lol at the end of sentences. I should smack the FUCK out of you for getting an attitude with your subscribers.
+JRC3JR calm down dude...lol
+JRC3JR "having an attitude." Because I said lol. I simply found it funny and ironic from what he said since it wasn't true. Not sarcasm. Would you rather me call him bad names for not paying attention? No. He simply made a mistake.
the only whine I love to hear, that whine tho
I was looking for that reference to The Fast and the Furious. I love it when you throw those in!!!
svt lightning favorite truck of all time other than the dodge ram srt10
+Aminu Abdullahi also ford should really bring back the svt lightning to go along side the raptor
srt 10 are not as fast as lightnings.. yes its a v10 500 hp but they arent as fast as lightnings..i street raced a few and track.. mine ran 8.09 1/8 mile street tire swapped pullies upper and lower with a street tune
+Aminu Abdullahi They'd probably ruin it with a fucking V6 like everything else they make but it would be cool to see it come back
Same but my all time favorite is the Syclone
+Danny Contreras oh word I love the cyclone too💪
Had an '02. Port the stock Eaton, smaller pulley, and tune it. 400 rwhp easy. Add a valve body to firm up the transmission shifts.
"Feel my murica as I pass you" lmao David your awesome
I have fond memories of the lighting. my dad got one when i was little and i still remember driving really fast on the back roads and doing burnouts for the hell of it
Feel my Murica 😂😂😂
I'd like to see more performance trucks on your page. Chevy Silverado SS, Ram SRT10/Rumblebee,Daytona, Ford Tremor, ETC
Super Slow
Just picked my lightning up a few days ago, same color too! Love the truck, didn’t know the taillights came stock like that. Only thing I dislike about the truck
What about reviewing a dodge ram srt 10?
+Zero 0 they are pieces of shit big slow and ugly
+Over The Road Rowson you have no idea what you're talking about
+Over The Road Rowson you are so clueless!
+daltex81 yea because you see so many trucks on race tracks they are shit
It's a wanna be Lightning.
I love the SVT Lightning. I've always wanted one. There are also two Lightnings in my neighborhood as well. Paired with a very loud 05-06 gt Mustang Coupe.
Review my trailblazer ss im in virgina 420 whp
That's dope
+idontlikecops1 Dank Horsepowah
11/10 -ign
+Anthony Varela thanks fellas
Yeh man! contact him about it
Miss my '03.
Now all we need is a Dsm :)
Review my awd swapped spyder 😅
+D Wash I'd let him review my GSX if I didn't live like 20 hours away lol
+Jacob Chavez lol i live in texas i might head up that way for h20i next year
+D Wash 2g AWD?
+Paul Vogel yessir being swapped right now into 98 spyder donor car is a 97 gsx that was in a wreck
THE SUPRA OF TRUCKS
MANXAN H no because Supras are overpriced as fuck
xtra doc, like the lightning.....
Wouldn't it be the mustang cobra of trucks??
From the future, i ended up getting a lightning...
@@_Anthony___ did you really? Post a video I wanna see it
01-04 lightning has 380hp 450tq stock 99-00 had 360hp 440tq....not 390hp regardless tho....still one hell of a truck...only truck id ever want to own! :)
Pwilly1984 i thought it was 99-02 was 360 hp and only 03-04 had 380 jp
Has longtube headers sooo pretty much 400
Pwilly1984 01/04 not 99/02
Emily Padron that's what I said... 01-04 had 380hp
Used to have an R/C version of this truck when I was 10, not gonna lie Brian O'Conner made me fall in love with this truck back in the day
That whine.. My goodness.
Gotta do a review on an AWD Silverado SS or an Intimidator SS. would love to see that.
kinda sounds like a v8 powered washing machine
Frederik ter Horst I laughed so hard thank you
The most badass washing machine lmao
Definitely one of Ford's little gems. Always loved these trucks.
Bought one with the Kenne Bell in May, giggle machine is the only way to accurately describe this truck
That trans is just begging for a shift kit.
+Shawn Carson you misspelled stick shift
+Strife Life lol
Hahaha!
My uncle had an SVT Contour. That thing was wicked.
i currently own a 2002 ford lightning
You probably won’t see this but I’m looking at buying one and I live in Seattle. How does it handle in the rain? Im sure if you drive normal it’s probably fine.
@@radical86 yes you can, they can get a little skeatchy if you were too floor it but for the most part you would be fine in rain
my uncle had one same year I'm pretty sure and color and he would pick me up from school sometimes when I was in like 2nd or 3rd grade and I always loved that supercharger whine and when it rained he would do burnout and drift U turns. fun badass trucks for sure lol
Tail lights are definitely ricey
So a buddy of mine took me for a hell ride in his Lightening back in '06 maybe. The truck was definitely not an '06 or even an '03 like your buddy's. I'm not sure what year they came out with the Lightening, but if I remember correctly it was the older more boxy style. You could definitely feel the power, and you just knew that you were sitting in something special that, like you had mentioned, not too many people knew about. It really does look like an ordinary truck, and is not really a head turner. I must say I like that idea that it's a sleeper. Just an ordinary looking truck that masks amazing performance.
Anyone else realize the the video is 10 minutes flat?
10:01 on mobile
10 minutes and 1 second technically.
it's 10 mins and one second
+Jon Hallex 9:59 for me
+Jayson Clark 10:00 on mobile for me
My neighbor across the street has a 90's ford lightning in red. Pretty sick looking car.
The engine sounds like a 13 year old girl who can't get her Starbucks
SwagToTheWheels lmao true.
NoH8 homeboy talking bad about a v8 with a supercharger but drives a honda... lol
Was this supposed to be an insult or?...
Still beats your Honda in the profile 😏
Your face
That supercharger whine sounds like a firetruck siren! So badass
GMC syclone next?
Own a ‘02 Red Lighting, scooped Hood, and a few other extras, took me two years to find it (a red one, stock), had it for four years now, still get a kick out of it (the sound) when I step on the gas, nothing in the world like it. And wouldn’t trade it for the world. They saying goes something like drive till it falls apart, I will and then put back together again. The Rams a pretty truck (stock), already with the hood scoop and fin, but I LOVE my Ford......🤙🏼❤️❤️❤️🤠
David should review do it with Dans Camaro SS LT1
I would love to have a lightning for a DD. A classmate of mine when I was going to UTI had one. When he had it on the dyno and pulled of the top of the airbox the superchargers whine was almost deafening.
Drive an SVT raptor off-road next.
I was just thinking to myself that when I get my lightning, and put all the parts my dad never got to put on his back in 2003, I would drive all the way down to you from Detroit to have you review it 😃 that's one of my new goals!
most mexican truck you'll ever see #truestory #beinglatino
im sure you will understand aka im paisa and my lightning nick name was the chalinonater! ahua.. lol
+fastest eaton lightning in socal te lo sico
+Christian Garcia So true, I live in Dallas and Latinos always stare at my truck…and the only people to ever come up to me and compliment it are Latino hahaha
+Miguel Rivera what? que?
hah every paisa here wants one 😂😂
Saw one of these in person at my 2009 high school graduation, still sounded just as good all those years ago as it did now
ford guy my whole kife. thats the ONLY truck i like that body style. is the lightning platform
friggin loved the idea of it! I have to say though, the new 3.5 Ecoboost ain't no slouch, and it's tightened up on all corners! I have a '15 F-150 XLT with the 5.0, and it's a horse and a half! It really wants to run everywhere rather than crawl...
It's a nice truck but the automatic transmission sucks
the stock Trans is whack. I put a shift kit in my first Trans and it hit hard. now I have a built Trans with a race valve body and higher stall torque convertor. it shifts hard as hell and moves
The guy who owns it has a amputated arm.
joey lafferty Needs a 6 speed manual swap from the Mustang :-)
The automatic transmission was from a Ford Super Duty.
I agree and i have a 2004 one lol
My dad has an 04 sonic blue and an 03 Harley which has the same motor and honestly the harley is insanely beautiful inside and out. Love both trucks
SVT Lightning has always been a dream truck of mine. In Sonic Blue too!!!
I'm not sure if its because of the location I live (East coast, US) but in all my years here I've only seen 1 on the road and 1 at a car show.
That makes it even more desirable to me because of its rarity.
