In this video, we will explore South Korea, Taiwan (China), Hong Kong (China), and Singapore from 1960 to 2019.

I don’t really understand the problem here, it’s pretty simple why the video says Taiwan, China. For people from Taiwan, Taiwan (China) refers to Taiwan, the Republic of China (the province of Taiwan and Kinmen, Fujian within the Republic of China). For people from mainland China, Taiwan (China) represents Taiwan, the People’s Republic of China. This is statistics and I’m trying to be as neutral as possible. The video is for people to learn, not talk about politics and fight each other.
According to IMF, Taiwan is (Taiwan, Province of China). According to United Nations, Taiwan is (China, Taiwan Province of China). According to World Bank, Taiwan is (Taiwan, China). According to World Health Organization, Taiwan is (Taipei and Environs, China). According to World Trade Organization, Taiwan is (Chinese Taipei). According to OECD, Taiwan is (Chinese Taipei). According to WIPO, Taiwan is (Taiwan Province of China). According to APEC, Taiwan is (Chinese Taipei). According to the Olympics, Taiwan is (Chinese Taipei). The list goes on and on for all international organizations. It's not the problem of Taiwan, China here, it's whether the China here is understood as the People's Republic of China or the Republic of China.
It’s my mistake by putting Hong Kong SAR before 1997 since it used to be a British colony.

I dont know what's the point of everyone fighting about which country is better but it doesnt really matter to be honest. All of us improved immensely. In many aspects, Singapore cannot match up to the other three, so I really respect the other three Asian Tigers.

- Also located in the Goldilocks Zone between 35 to 45th parallel north of East Asia.

At least they don't have earthquakes and tsunami like Japan
@@bariforever3611 You make a couple of good arguments, and I partially agree.
Whether Korea's location is good or bad depends on its allies, if it had none, it'd strategically have a really bad location. If it were allied with China or Russia it'd be an important stepping stone to invade Japan, if it's allied with the US (and thus indirectly with Japan), it gives the advantage of not having to perform an amphibious assault, when at war with for example China and North-Korea. But Korea's geography makes up for that, it's very mountainous (and if it were united, it'd have a natural border in the Yalu River), and furthermore it's a peninsula, making it very defensible and that's probably the only reason why Korea remained independent from most Chinese dynasties (not talking about tributaries) and Japan as well. Harsher climates also help out, you know... Russia. So as long as South-Korea has a good set of allies, it *should* be relatively safe.
Economically speaking, all these potential threats (China, Japan, Russia) give South-Korea a beneficial location, as China and Japan have extremely well-developed economies, and South-Korea's location allows them to benifit from that.
I just wouldn't say their geography/location sucks, it's interesting. And if South-Korean politicians are smart enough, they can get a lot of benefits from it. There are a lot of downsides, you're right about that, but it really depends on how you look at it.
- Belgium, Netherlands, Isreal and Taiwan are especially densely populated (Be: 11.5 million + Ne: 17 million + Is: 9 million + Sw: 8.5 million + De: 6 million + Tw: 24 million = 76 million vs South-Korea: 51.5 million) giving them a higher combined population density than South-Korea.

Korea grouped with Hong Kong, SIngapore and Taiwan is not because of size, but because they all went from underdeveloped countries to developed in late 1980s, which is why they are called "East Asian Tigers".
China is not grouped with Korea, because it is not developed. Japan is already developed in 1900s and it is in G7, group of countries dominate the world in economy and technological research.
