"A bolt of lighting shows me where to fly" -Radiant Dawn "I hope my path will be A guide of light for someone to follow" -Roar of the Spark Perfection.
also!! "I desire nothing from the flowing sands of time" / "The hourglass does not turn upside down on its own, I'm looking ahead" mother and son moment as well!!!
This shit is so beautiful man it makes me cry. The way it talks about Ky and how he saved Dizzy and how happy she is ever since he found her and that she would suffer through everything again if it meant eventually finding each other I need a Ky Kiske in my life
Fun fact (speculation, but Spectacular Speculation doesn’t hit the same): it is also talking about Sin Kiske specifically with her mentions of the Sands of Time echoing her parenting of Sin and his theme The Hourglass. And how Sin is just focused on finding his own way and Dizzy plans to allow it (though she will ask him to keep an eye out per her voice lines in the trailer though not expressed in song).
A lot of the lyrics in this song compliment Ky's theme. Most obvious I think is in the chorus. In Ky's theme: "I want my path to be a guiding light for someone to follow." In Dizzy's theme: "A bolt of lighting shows me where to fly." Even the name of the song "Radiant Dawn" can be thought of as a reference to Ky talking about trying to "be a light" at multiple parts in his theme.
I know this is silly, but I absolutely love this strange period where a new GG song comes out, but the actual official lyrics are still unknown. I like going online and seeing countless different interpretations of the same lyrics and therefore different interpretations of the meaning of the song. Only for the actual lyrics to be something completely different and everyone just goes "OH, ok then". It's just such a fun time of guessing and brainstorming together, and then interpreting the songs the way you want to for a brief time I guess.
I’m still convinced that “My friend enjoys Paris for the plane” is the first line in verse two of Ups And Downs, just because thats just what the song is about: the journey, not the destination. Idk, thats what I heard and thought it was fact until i checked. I still believe it though
Few notes: -0:48 it should be "shifts" instead of "just", i.e. "My world, shifts between dawn and dusk". -1:03 @NotCon already said it, but "a place" sounds more like "ablaze", i.e "in the sunset, the sky was ablaze with gold embers". -1:13 "(Scattered by the wind)" sounds more like "(Sands carried by the wind)" -1:16 I don't really hear "(knowing your welled-up tears)", I thought it was "(Holding your welled-up tears)", but the only word I can really make out is "tears" so your guess is as good as mine. -2:39 I feel like "vine" should be replaced with "line" -4:03 It sounds more like "But if the past was necessary to find you", which would make sense given that the next line is "I will accept anything". To me, it's as if she's saying "I've accepted my past because it's what led me to you" (the "you", in this case, being sir Kyle Kissgay). -4:46 "Deny" sounds more like "Define" to me, but it still sort of works either way.
wanna add that in "but if the past was necessary to find you", to me it sounds like the "if" was pronounced as "ifu" bc of japanese accent, which is why a lot of ppl dont hear it as "if"
Ok the one line here I disagree with, I definently think near the end it's saying "embracing the past, and present, heading for tomorrow". Embracing sounds way closer than "I am erasing" and erasing the past is also just completely against the message of the rest of the song Edit: I also think it's "a feeling I can't defy" but also it doesn't make a huge difference
Every time a new Guilty Gear song drops it becomes my new favorite for like a month. I can’t even play the damn games, but like hell if I’ll ever stop being a fan of this peak.
Definitely the best lyric interpretation I've seen far. While there are 1 or 2 lines where I'm unsure if I agree, everything else not only fits well, but makes a lot of sense to the song's story!
i dont hear the "lands" in "my shadow lands in the twilight" i think it might say "in the sunset, the sky was ablaze" rather than "a place" no clue if it says embers or not, like i can hear it but she says it differently every time so it leads me to believe its something else
@@NotCon Oh, I really like "ablaze" there, actually! That's excellent! And yeah, I wasn't super happy with "lands" either, but it seemed to convey the sentiment of the lyric.
What if it's "golden boughs"? It makes sense (to me) since this is realistically about Dizzy finally reaching out to that beautiful tomorrow, much like a tree's boughs do (and it works with the gamer analogy because heehee Limbus Company and the Golden Boughs)
I immediately searched for this video after hearing "Golden Boughs" in the original just to see if the PMoon brainrot finally corroded me. I was not expecting to have my Limbus alarm go off listening to Guilty Gear.
Awesome job! some corrections: "ablaze" (instead of a place) "sands carried" (instead of scattered) by the wind I dare to cross the "line" (instead of vine) also maybe: "golden boughs" (instead of gold embers/golden bows - but I really like "gold embers" and maybe there really are different lyrics in the two instances but I would assume that the lyrics are the same in every intance of that line) in the same vein it's probably "hope" both times at 4:50
Having listened to this on loop for hours, I'm pretty sure it's "Embracing the past" and not "I'm erasing the past". This makes more sense considering that the song right after this part, goes "For there is nothing I want more than now." which wouldn't make sense if Dizzy wantes to erased the past and present.
there's one line in the chorus that i'm pretty sure is incorrect here, i think it's "the sky was ablaze with gold embers" not "the sky was a place with gold embers"
I assume the lyrics flow better in Japanese, cause the English singing here is off. I dunno, just rubs me the wrong way, each ending of each verse is very terse and seems "cut off" from the rest of the song IMO
This happens a lot when Japanese artists write English lyrics. The focus is not on making the English sound natural, but instead on treating it as another "instrument" that can be bent and tweaked to match the needs of the song. It's like a kind of English Jazz.
These songs aren't really in Japanese. If you focus on all other songs, you will notice there is little to no rhymes or flow in English lol. What the other person said is kinda accurate. It's less the instrumental being backing to the vocal flow and more like the voices are another part of the melody.
