As a retired Heavy equip mechanic, I was wondering if you ever looked into the hydraulic pressures on your excavator You may just have to adj . the Pressure regulator valves in the circuits that are weak! it's a simple adjustment
Thanks for your input. I came to comment on the hydraulic pressure on the excavator too. Engine running hard but the boom and bucket cylinders work slow. My thought was hydraulic filters and worse case a worn out pump but you pointed out the cheapest solution if correct. Hopefully he will see your comment and mention it in his next video
There are several problems. Water in the hydraulic oil. I have drained an put new in but it needs complete flush. I will check the regulator valves (I did not know) but I think pump is bad too... To much stuff to fix and not enough time. Thank you!

i worked for 22 years at united rentals before retiring im 76 now but still love to work on things i did heavy equipment for a lot of those years and really like the job you do on the old machines
The bucket controls are perfectly set up for grading and loading trucks. If you are pushing material you just pull back on both levers and with the slightest adjustments the bucket will rise and roll down keeping the teeth at grade level dozing the bucket load out perfectly. Loading trucks, arms up and as you come over the side to the truck pull the bucket lever back and roll her right into the truck bed then bump the arms out with your thumb when you're high enough. Love them things and the 955L in particular is fast, powerful, and as well balanced as any loader until the 963 cab forward generation. You run those things wide open bye the way. No need to throttle down until quiting time. No need to change anything, get used to it and you'll love it that way. AirArc the welds off the track sliders and lets get them adjusted.
Just a thought. You didn't say what you are building with, but since you have so many tires, you might consider building with tire walls. There are several youtube channels that show the building and finishing process. Also, you may want to consider something like they build in Canada over the roadways (snow tunnels, I think they are called) that will handle the runoff water and snow. I really learn a lot about being resourceful on your videos!

That’s awesome! A quick and cheap fix for the hole in the windshield until you can get a new pane would be to sandwich it with two pieces of plexiglass or something and bolt through it just to keep the weather out! 👍

Yes! I am at home and disabled and would absolutely love to watch 1- 1.5 hour long Mtn. Fortress lab videos as well wizard!! Boy if you could get the hoe fine tuned and up to snuff along with the 955 boy you and Les (if he'd be willing to run the 955) could make the fortress Mtn road where you could drive your car clear to the top Allen instead of it only being passable to a 4 wheeler or dodge in 4 by granny low. Four years ago, I found out I have Croans, Ulcerates Collides, real bad Osteoarthritis; had to have many of my hinges; both ankles, both knees, L hip, both shoulders and 8 vertebrae out of place needed replacing. Videos like Alan's are perfect timing to be able to watch several others during my recovery. Keep up the good work Wizard!@@muddawgkomm9642
Since the 955l front idlers are welded in place. As a temporary fix be to cut some spacer plates for the top roller stands to lift the track to tighten it some. I dont know if the stands are bolted to the top of the track frame or top and inside of the track frame. Verses getting some thick wall pipe. Machine it to be split then weld over the upper rollers to increase the diameter to take up track tension.
❤ After a few repairs that piece of equipment will help you do so work that is needed on the Mountain Fortress road and much more. Looking forward to seeing what you do with it. I enjoy watching your shows so much and wish you could put out more content but I think you are a busy man.

its great to see its up and working and that you have some help it seems a bit slow on moving like its not pumping hydraulics oil very fast it might have a blocked filter it moves very slow but its better then digging by hand great job
Most cat controls are adjustable so you can set them up differently at the valve control box. Hope your using that material to fix your road up to the fortress it looks pretty good stuff. A d8 ripper tooth on the end of that excavator stick would do wonders to that rock.
Was thinking the same thing, about the ripper and then the material going on the Mtn road. Can't tell me he doesn't have any culvert laying around if not I'm sure Dave Sparks could hook him up.
Would the material you are digging out now be a g candidate to fix the spots on your access road where you got stuck this spring? It'd be easier to find other material for backfilling a bunker shop since that could be just soil.
Just as a observation, the shafts or rods you have used on the bucket of the John deer are working well, are they temporary or permanent? Is so you should definitely cut them but create new grease points, then for what you do they will surely last a very long time.
I've never operated an excavator before so I'm curious. At 13:10 could you scoop the bucket into the loose soil then rotate the boom left to push the pile in one move? Or would that be too heavy to move all at once? It looks like a lot of fun either way! 👷♂️
So what he's doing is cutting the perimeter line...then removing the loose with the track loadet ... this video is specifically for the ability of the track loader... because we haven't used it completely yet....then the rain started...😊
You really need to concider putting up lightning rods around your fortress and mountain top. This should greatly reduce the chances of anymore lightning strikes to your facility.

The hydraulic oil might be airiated milkshake.

I question digging into the slope for the back of the shop unless you have a plan to divert rain runoff

Any worries with that hill giving way to a land slide during the rain? It happened to whistlin diesel when he did a similar project.
I had the same thought. Rather build the workshop in the open and parking space at the hill slope dugout.
