Thank you for sharing these beautiful machines. I was lucky enough when I was kid to operate 933, 955, and 977. My dad was the superintendent. I'm 70 now. Thank you again for sharing your video with 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I remember watching an operator with a 955h model tearing down houses when i was 11 years old. I loved the sound of the cat engine. Later on I saw many versions of the 977 and one 983. All beautiful machines. I miss the old cat sound that is missing in the newer models.
I have a 955H, with a ripper and 4-way bucket. It has pedal steering and electric start. It doesn’t have ROPs of any type, but that was common in 1965. I used to ride on one as a kid so I got one as a big kid.
Spent many thousands of hours on a 77L, those sweet old girls could dig and made beautiful noise doing it. Moved onto a 73 and they’re in a working class all of their own.
You‘re right. The reason for this is: The 983 was only running on about 70%, because this was at an event where people could operate these machines themselves. And for safety reasons they didn‘t let people operate it with full throttle/full power, whereas on the 977 they could blast full throttle 😊
Love these machines, but realistically speaking unless in a demo application these old bueties are brutally slow with low productivity and very expensive to maintain in today's standards, that's why you can pick them up for next to nothing these days ❤
Not if you know how to operate them. I ran the 977 with a 4 in 1 bucket and loaded semi trucks full in 4 minutes..it's all in the skill of the operator. And if the operator keeps the joints greased, and the fluids are kept up, and you don't abuse the machine and operate it with skill, they last a long time.
1. I‘m talking about metric tons, not short tons. 2. there are different weights depending on the production year. Besides: It makes no sense whatsoever that the 955 and 977 are only 2 tons apart (like you claim). Please recheck the specs.

Have operated the 933,955,and 977. Never got the opportunity on the biggest one ! Great machines!
That's awesome! I'd like to operate a 977 some day. Maybe even a 983 :)

These CAT Diesels have a great sound to them, that's true! Watching such a machine as a kid is a thing one never forgets.

@@ingcampthree4523 that‘s really awesome!! 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎
The CAT 983.....A D8 with a bucket...what a machine!!
True 😊
not a whole lot in common with a D8, a 983 is actually heavier than a D8 of the same vintage too
Quelle belle mélodie, ❤❤ ces moteurs Caterpillar font vraiment un bruit extraordinairement beau ..
La vraie puissance brute et viril 💪💪💪💪
Fantastic machines.
Just an amazing video…..those track loaders are awesome
Yes they are!

YOUR GREATEST TRACK WEAR OCCURS IN REVERSE WITH NO LOAD !!!!
Why is that?

❤❤❤❤❤
Is it just me or does the 983 seem kinda tired? Whereas the 977 was an animal.

@@Mani-io5re Ohh nice! Looks like a great turn out for sure. I would have been there too if I could have!
Kinderträume! Und heute genau so 🙂
Absolut 😍
I'm looking for a small track loader with clamshell bucket.
Hanomag L600D.
TBH I dont see a 953 being any faster than a 55K /L

Good video but we need to see more production and less machinery movement too much driving around wasted movements
This was a show where people could drive the machines theselves. They weren‘t building something. It‘s just for fun.
Oi boa noite quanto custs
If you’re going to make a video at least get the weight specs right. 955=16tons 977=18tons

If you don’t love the 955 your not American
