- The MAN-03 Braw Bro was the first mobile weapon that was developed for Newtypes. It was equipped with a psycommu system to allow the pilots to control the mobile armour with their brainwaves. As brainwaves are not affected by Minovsky particle interference, Newtypes were able to control remote weapon units with the psycommu system. As the Braw Bro was the first of its kind, the research team placed great importrance on the flight test data. They even designed the mobile armour such that it had three component modules. This is to ensure that the test data was more likely to be retrieved should the Braw Bro be damaged in battle. A prototype of the Braw Bro was tested near Side 6, piloted by Simus Al Bakharov. The left block was destroyed by the RX-78-2 Gundam, but the right block escaped. A second unit was constructed based on the recovered data from the original unit, and the Newtype pilot came in the form of Zeon Lieutenant Challia Bull,

The in-universe reason why Zeon has several different mobile suits and mobile armors: *its companies create them which drained a lot of Zeon's resources badly*
The real meta reason: *to create various Gunpla toys to sell as merchandise, and also deconstruct the Monster of the Week formula*
Although the animation is older, I think I like this version better than the remake. The angles and shots are more interesting to me. Especially that one wide shot 0:49 of Amuro dodging beams from every direction.
I agree on 0079 having poor animation, but the choreography of it is actually great. I love that stuff.
@@wingshad0w00982What it looks like to me is it was directed by someone with a good eye for manga format, but not executed as well when put into motion due to budget and schedule limitations.

一年戦争期に旧ジオン公国軍が開発したＮＴ用試作ＭＡ
有線式のサイコミュ兵器を搭載しており、オールレンジ攻撃を可能としている
しかし、データ収集を目的にした為か巡洋艦サイズの大きさを誇る
なお機体は中央と左右に分割する事が可能で、中央はＮＴ用コクピット
左右は通常のパイロットでも扱えるようにしたものだが、通常のパイロットだと最低で３人は必要になる
こう見るとやっぱりアムロはバケモノだな...
アムロからしたらまだオールレンジ攻撃は未知な武器なのに避けまくり撃破してるからね、やっぱりおかしい

I'm starting to think the Moebius Zero from SEED is a homage to the Braw Bro but smaller in size.
I think it's actually supposed to be the g-armor. Support MA for the gundam? Checks out. Plus a development of the moebius zero was supposed to combine with the Strike Gundam, much like how the G-Armor is supposed to. It's just that the gun barrel striker ended up only being used on 105 daggers because the Archangel went rouge and took the strike with them.
The dagger series mobile suits used it as basically their version of INCOM.

Certainly looks more dependable of a mobile armor than most of the other ones if it can just rapidly fire beams at that kind of intensity from all sides with no signs of overheating or needing to recharge.

I think this is the one of the only 2 with escape pod technology in zeons arsenal.
