I think it would be funny if it was Leon simply because there's a running gag about I'm always winding up in the wrong place, and he has Charizard which could act as a optional boss battle with them using either the x or y mega what the team built around it

I'd be down if Volo comes back as a secret super boss battle. Like, he doesn't have to be directly related to the plot, just randomly appears while you're doing your business, wools player's ass, refuses to elaborate and leaves.
Also, I love your idea about the Prism Tower being the battle tower, it was exactly my thought when Z-A was first announced. Like, we probably won't have gyms in this game and I doubt that a huge tower in the middle of a whole game is just a decoration...

Mega Drifblim so we can have more sinnoh megas that aren't the big lads of the gen.
If Heath shows up we could get a mega Cyclizar that combines elements from the box art paradoxs as a parallel to Roaring Moon & Iron Valiant being paradoxes based of megas we seen before, where as this mega Cyclizar would be based on paradoxes we seen before, making a neat circle.

Arceus the last time I have seen Looker was back in Hoenn in ORAS so Looker would be nice but I also really want Emmet to get reunited with Ingo because I can't take that heartache anymore plus Generation 10 might let us have a proper return to Unova than the mess that was that damn DLC Scarlet and Violet gave us. Leon though could become a funny running gag in Legends because he's always lost and I don't have problem destroying that damn Charizard of his lmao! 🤭

I think that since Diamond, Pearly and Platinum looked to the past, but X and Y looked to the future, Legends Z-A is also future-oriented and a counterpart to Arceus, which was past-oriented.

@@therealdrogane When Legends ZA was announced, I imagine the original XY scene running until the moment you choose the starter, Hoopa appears in front of the protagonist with a mischievous smile.
then in a quick scene the protagonist fell into the hoopa ring along with his starter.

If there is a returning character, it won't be Volo since he has no business being in Kalos and I don't like him so he can stay gone. Looker doesn't need to be in the game since he is useless in most games and he needs stop appearing in games that don't need him. I don't want a gen 9 character in because i don't want it to fuel the Paldea and Kalos connected nonsense. Maybe a Hoenn character considering ORAS and XY were in the same generation as each other.

Idk, I feel like very few, if any, returning characters will return because I feel like ZA will take place in a timeframe which hasn't be touched upon before. I believe it would be either in the near future due to the aesthetics of the trailer, the 1950s since irl they were a period where Paris, the inspiration for Lumiose City underwent serious reconstruction after WW2, or the 1850s-60s where Paris underwent a urban re-development plan to turn it into a modern and more grandiose city. Maybe one can argue that Legends Arceus is also kind of in the pokémon equivalent of the 1800s but I contest that (imo its more like 1700s or pre-1810s). So unless all 3 of my hypothesis are wrong, it'll be really hard to justify a returning character in timeframes which have never before been explored by the franchise. (Personally I'd love it being one of the latter 2 timeframes I hypothesised mostly because of the aesthetic but who knows)
EDIT: Regarding Heath, if the game is in a 1850s-1860s inspired period, then we can have Lumiose host something like a Universal Exposition (or World's Fair or however it's called) which invites Heath to expose to the city his discoveries, since at the time Universal Expos were all about showing off new technologies, discoveries and innovations. Oh and Paris hosted one of the first Universal Expos in 1867, where they built the Eiffel Tower.
Tbh I just want a Shauna or Clement/Bonnie ancestor or descendant. Depending on if its past or future.
