    WOW! Why does it leave that cool texture? Does it only resist with fluid acrylics?

    • @christyhartman
      @christyhartman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it is a super fun texture and is very unpredictable. High Flow works consistently, there are other paints that will work.... but not consistently. if you try it I’d love to see the results. I love the technique.

    Fun stuff. Everything turned out awesome. Thank you for the demo. The colors are wonderful . I just put out my paints for a project I'm starting to paint on fiber, I'll be using fabric paints. Using botanicals and stencils. I'm excited to paint tomorrow,

    I love the botanical prints, but I am curious, why does the color not lift onto the leaves and flowers?

    • @christyhartman
      @christyhartman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a great question. No one has ever asked me that before. A botanical works in a similar manner to a stencil, a stencil is a non porous material and so is plant-life. Even more so after they have been used a few times. Paper is a porous material and the paint adheres to paper. Hope that helps.

    Does the DecoArt high flow Media leave the same kind of bubbly texture as the Golden high flow?

    • @christyhartman
      @christyhartman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Media line is a fluid acrylic not a high flow acrylic so the results are not as consistent as the Golden High Flow. However if you apply the Fluid acrylics very thinly on the plate it will work if the gel printing gods are cooperating. Give it a shot and see what happens. It’s a great experiment.

    Amazing and thorough instructions. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
    Question: about how long do you let Golden Open dry on the gel plate? Thanks!!

      My pleasure and thank you for taking the time to comment. I’m pleased you found it useful. It really depends on your humidity levels but generally I’d let it sit for a few hours to overnight.

    I like the way you use an acrylic sheet behind your gel plate, using it almost like a stamp when you are transferring your images to paper. Do you know what thickness the acrylic is that you're using for that sheet?

    • @christyhartman
      @christyhartman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve tried different techniques over the years to help position my prints. This is the one I’ve settled on that seems to work well for me. I purchase my acrylic plates from Joggles www.joggles.com/art-journals-and-mixed-media/joggles-clear-acrylic-stamp-mounts/joggles-clear-acrylic-stamp-mount-6-inch-x-8-inch-57791.htm
      They are 1/8” thick. Thank you for asking.

    I'm curious... at the end of your videos, you put up a "Copyright" notice. Can you tell me exactly how a copyright works on items that are published for educational purposes?

    • @christyhartman
      @christyhartman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not really sure what you are asking me? If you need a refresher on artist copyright I would suggest that you should do some research on artist copyright.
