Labor of LOVE, YES! You don't know how much I loved this video! I felt it! The freedom, the experimentation, your thoughts, the extreme frustration and the feeling of accomplishment of pushing through and an artwork that means so much! I love this artwork, its such a gorgeous abstract landscape, so much to see!
This was so fun! I know how artistic you are, I love your blooms but DANG…I’m so happy to see you doing something different. Sometimes we get pigeonholed into a certain technique and we don’t get to experiment and play with other techniques. I love to see you experimenting. It’s so inspiring! ❤
Your work with this form of fluid art is absolutely stunning Karen. The colors are warm and happy - a much needed feeling. They draw one in. This was so inspiring! You've lit a fire under me, as I've been in a fluid art slump. Thank you for bringing back a bit of the urgency to break out the paint again. Congrats on an absolutely beautiful beginning expanding your repertoire of talents. Wow... Just loved this video. Take care. 😊
I have done this technique in the past and it really is a labor of love. Like all art, it takes time to figure out how to get the technique down. You are so talented and I can see many more amazing paintings with this technique from you. You created a beautiful piece. ❤
I think we are entering another time in History. I am so liberated and content from my artistic journey, exploration and expression of colors. It has transformed my life so rapidly in ways I never expected. Seeing you frolic kept me smiling throughout the entire video. Definitely subscribed and thank you for sharing with us. Just imagine if every household had one area set aside for artistic expression... What a different World we would find...
Love the Soak Stain technique. Intriguing and so many light layers giving it so much, well light! Such happy colors vibrant and invigorating. Really like the effect and the big angel like person clear as day and look forward to seeing more of this technique🧡💛💕
Oh Karen. I just love it. I learned a ton watching you. I cannot wait to get settled in my new house so I can give this a try. Thanks again for sharing.
Very interesting!!! The effect reminds me of a picture of a cityscape reflecting on water in blues and greens that my mom had hanging in the living room in the 60's. Loved this technique and video ❤
Karen I LOVED this! I just started a piece like this with acrylic ink washes and had to set it aside for a bit! You inspired me to keep pushing through
Oh, Karen, thank you for sharing this experience! I have been wanting to try this for months and haven't because I've let fear consume me. I can't wait to make my first attempt! You are so amazing! ♡♡♡ Kris
Thanks for sharing your artistic journeys…watching the fluid artists over these years has been such a gift and inspiring to face the unknown and experimental resulting with such beauty!
You should try watercolors, I used to pour, but have switched entirely to watercolor. The movement and different methods of texturing is so fun to explore and create. And the cost is probably a quarter of pouring...some of my favorite artists, Steve Mitchell, Morten Solberg...Steve Mitchell channel, the mind of watercolor...very similar to what you've created, it's beautiful ❤
Absolutely amazing and definitely inspiring fluid paint experiment. I like the color blending you have been creating very much. Thanks for sharing Karen👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️😘
Loved this video from beginning to end ❤️ I even cussed right along with you and tried to grab the cups from spilling 🤦😂🤣 An absolutely inspiring video for all of us to say "I wonder" & "What if" and just do it! I needed this today, Thank you 🙏🥰
The brand name is Catalyst. It looks like Karen is using a W-06 size, but not positive? There are straight edge wedge like this one, but some have multiple notches, so one can make multiple lines for texture/dimension, etc. They are a wonderful tool. Best part is clean up - the paint comes off with water or soap & water if preferred. Also, if the paint dries on them, the dried paint will lift right off using painter's tape (make sure it makes really good contact with the Catalyst surface). Not expensive either! 😊 Namaste

Beautiful
Hi Karen! Loved seeing your experiment. Question, what is the catalyst you mention?
The piece of rubber in my hand. I don’t know how else to explain it but they sell them at art stores.
Thanks! I’ll try to find one. The technique looks like so much fun to try to do.

Love
What is flade and what is ceg! Please answer lol thx! It’s beautiful 😻
Hahahaha! You must be reading from the crappy TH-cam subtitles! I have no idea, can you use them in a sentence? 😀
I figured it out. One is QNAG (Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold) and the other is Sepia!
@ I was hahaha you’re right!
Could a bit of GAC 200 help slow down the drying in order to work more with the colors and composition?
Spritzing with water works really well so no need to buy anything. Plus, you want the layers to dry rather quickly so you can add the next layer.
Does it have to be raw canvas for this technique to work?
@@lauraglass1558 It’s the foundation of the technique.
Cool! You probably had difficulty pronouncing her name because it's Helen Frankenthaler... you were missing the T in the middle. Very lovely process.
Very cool! 😎 wonder if a set of sponges 🧽 might be in your future
It was cut from this video because the sponge caused bubbles that I didn’t like and soaked up too much of the paint! Great minds!
