It makes me so happy that game developers realized that people love companions like dogs. Like the dog can do absolutely nothing but it brings the player so much joy and gives them a sense to protect. I just love it
Can we just be in awe at the fact the jack said "remember when I was getting dog food" and then the game responded with "remember when you were getting dog food"
Honestly, if I was the main character, the most terrifying thing in this whole experience wouldn't be losing my family or the aliens trying to kill me, it would be the underwater sections where you have to dive not knowing how far air is.
@@someguy3414 It could be a yard, it could be 10, it could be 20, I could have swam past it already, or it could be a dead end and I just drown. Plus timed underwater sections of games have always made me a little nervous, I imagine real life definitely wouldn't be easier.
@@hammer_bro233 i think you might have described cave diving. The 'timed' is your oxygen tank. So many people died in underwater cave because they took a wrong turn or went to wrong way.
im not mainly because if you leave dogs unchecked their monsters that eat babies without remorse XD not sure where all this love on dogs over everything else is coming from

Love how Seán says he’s more worried about the dog than the toddler, but when the dog is gone he doesn’t notice. Yet when the toddler so much as steps away he immediately goes into dad mode and tries to pick him up.
The fact that Sean just completed God of War Ragnarok and immediately went on to another game AND completed it for our entertainment is just so fascinating. I would've taken a long break after playing such a banger of a game if I were him. Just the amount of hard work he puts into each of these videos amazes me. Love you, bro💖
Big shout out to his cutter. He deserves the praise too. He edits the video we love and he is forgotten lots. Let's cherish him. Can we get a big thank you?
"overthink things, get sad. Realise things don't have to be that complicated, figure it out, feel ashamed that you overthought it". This is literally me. I love how honest Sean is about life. Been following since 2016 and have seen him get older as I have gotten older. It is so comforting seeing him going through life and have a very similar experience. Also, this game is beautiful!
I just Googled it and he actually missed one of the endings. There seems to be 4 in total. The last one is that he sacrifices himself for his family to live on in the real world because they were taken into a simulation, not killed. He had to use all of his energy to allow them to escape and dies afterwards.
I don't think anyone has mentioned this but I think the game is based on the county Somerset in England. The festival that you go through in the game looks heavily inspired by Glastonbury Festival as the pyramid stage with the ufo in the game looks pretty much identical to the pyramid stage in Glastonbury. Great vid Jack!
Well as someone from the us, I don’t know the first thing about uk and England and their respective countys and what that means for them but after 2 seconds of googling, they seem to be relatively close to each other so maybe Jumpship have close ties to the area. I mean they obviously do given the aesthetics of the game but ykwim lol
As someone who lives in Somerset (Glastonbury to be exact) I can say I agree. Also just so people know the festival isn't held in Glastonbury it's held near a small village
I loved the ending. I think it is an accurate portrayal of how we might interact with aliens. We either submit, fight, or figure out how to talk to each other.
@@justincruz5720me and my father watched this constantly at the edge of our seats, waiting for a brawl to break out, only for the movie to end 😅 We had skipped over the fact that it was purely a drama, no action type movie
seems like a long way to go just for a chat... you think if that's all the Aliens wanted wanted they could have done it without blowing up half the world first... Anyhow i think diplomacy is long past by this point...you dont tend to shoot first then talk.
There’s actually another ending triggered by saying blue 3 times after the first time you speak with the aliens. It’s basically where you sacrifice yourself to ONLY save your family.
@@CheshieD Everyone else survives, but your character dies because the aliens take all 3 of your powers and it kills you. The power was the only thing keeping you alive.
Try not to take it personally. Disliking the English is an expected part of the Irish national character; the wounds run deep, and there are still boatloads of folk tunes and drinking songs about the Easter Rising and the occupation of Northern Ireland (I grew up hearing them). It's more about hating the English government and their misdeeds throughout Ireland's history than hating English citizens. At least, that's how I read it as an American of Irish ancestry.
I’m sure he didn’t mean anything serious. After all he has several friends who are English and he also lives in England which meant he does like being there, even if he could have problems.
I was going back and forth between being in absolute awe at how cool the sound and the scenery and overall the whole story was, and biting my nails from anxiety every time the dog did not follow the main character.
Did anyone else not register that the screen was showing a car lol I didn’t know what I was looking at until I saw the house. Love you jack, keep up the vids
Sometimes I lose my mind as Jack misses the simplest of clues or an item, then sometimes he wraps lights around a tree and blows my mind as I realize that it would’ve taken me much longer to figure that out
I feel like purple giving away their power was their sort of 'Resignation ending', like having red and blue with them at the base was their version of our wife on the couch
It was only when Sean got the final ending, I realised, this is a game about dealing with grief. Resignation and understanding are the last two stages of grief.
Arent the last two stages Depression and Acceptance? And since none of the other stages seems to be represented, your theory seems like quite a stretch..
@@astrocytes That's fucking horrible, i wish there was anything i could say about this but honestly i don't really know what i could. @Tronik No. Resignation and depression doesnt mean remotely the same thing.. Acceptance and understanding are closer but still a massive stretch, especially in the context of the game. And again, none of the other stages are represented in the game. And the two words are from separate endings. You dont go through one to get to the other, you get one OR the other. There's literally nothing that suggests this game is about grief.
1:12:58 jack just described the whole terminator franchise “did people from the future come back in time to destroy and other people didn’t agree so they came back in time to stop them” “ nah that doesn’t make any sense”
SPOILER WARNING: I feel like the ending where you come to an "understanding" is less the father "asking" the aliens to leave, but more "threatening" to blow them all up if they don't just leave.
That's an interesting idea. The way I saw it was that that was the first time the aliens saw intelligent life from the humans since they were able to communicate. Before then maybe the aliens just thought we were weird fleshy mindless animals since they couldn't really talk with us, so they saw that we actually had consciousness and decided it was immoral to continue staying on our planet.
I think the aliens and the protagonist to some extent knew that he had the power necessary to the extent he couldn't be stopped and lulled into the false simulations; hence the agreement to leave the planet.
Love these ideas. I thought that every time one of those little balls were stuck inside gates and cars, they were messaging us to free them so if you learn what theyre saying, then right at the end we say to the big balls that we want to be freed. And maybe they came to offer us simple happiness but once learnt that we wanted to leave they were like "understandable, have a nice day"
according to a reddit post deconstructing their language: aliens: hi humans: hi aliens: who are you humans: humans, aliens aliens: humans, kill humans: humans, help / aliens, kill aliens: aliens, help, children humans: aliens, kill, children / aliens, kill / humans, help, children
its worth noting the fascination the aliens have with the kids - You’re holding hands with only kids at the end, you do the whole abduction thing, etc. Maybe you were selected to represent humanity, due to having a child of your own
Can I just take a moment to appreciate the drum set talk at 58:45. One of my brothers is a drummer and it reminded me of days when we would sit on the livingroom floor and he would go over every piece of the drum he was cleaning and tuning. It's a nice warm trip down memory lane and I appreciate that.
I think the best part of it, for me, was when the guy got the purple power, because blue and red showed up, to guide purple to death, and she gave her power to him before going with blue and red- like that scene is just powerful to me
Here’s my theory about what the game’s endings are about if anyone is wondering (SPOILERS): In order to understand the game, you need to understand the hidden context first. Starting with the title: “Somerville”. According to google, Somerville’s definition is: “Scottish: of Norman origin a habitational name from Graveron-Sémerville in Eure (Normandy) from the ancient Germanic personal name Sigimar (see Siemer ) + Old French ville 'settlement'” It usually translates to “summer town” but in this case, it can be interpreted as “summer settlement”. The location this game takes place in could be the ideal “settlement” for the aliens, for reasons we don’t exactly know. But we do know that humans have been aware of these aliens, or at least their technology, for a long enough period of time to experiment on it. This can be seen by the human scientists working in the background of the alien ship. The red, blue, and purple soldiers were possibly alien technology that was discovered by humans several years before the invasion. The humans assumed war was inevitable, so they produced 3 super soldiers with this alien technology to prepare. The fact that humans use these abilities and that the orbs also treat you in a friendly manner seems to suggest it’s a human-alien hybrid technology, not just one or the other. However, once the aliens actually appeared, the humans found out they were vastly underprepared and failed to stop it. Now all the 3 super soldiers can do is try their best to stop the invasion, despite how hopeless it is. It seems like the alien technology is immortal, so even if one of them dies, all 3 must remain together in a new form. To explain why the aliens are invading and why so many children were trapped in those simulations: I think the aliens believe they are superior to humans. They think of earth as just another planet to colonize, but they are fascinated enough by humans to not outright kill them. They value mothers and children because mothers provide children, and children are “fresh slates” which they can mold into their own “better” versions of what humans should be. That’s why the mother and child were not killed when you abandoned them on the tower. The 3 floating alien rocks you see at the end are most likely the overlords of their alien species. In the end, you must come up with a good enough argument to convince the aliens to let you leave. If you can’t, they try to bribe you with another fake reality while they continue to destroy earth. If you can understand their language and speak back to them, they will recognize your intelligence and let you go back to reality. If you paid close attention to the background details, there are actually color codes hidden in some areas, which explain how the alien language works. For example, “purple purple purple” means “alien”, “blue blue blue” means “human”, and “purple blue red” means “family” (according to your interpretation of the symbols). You can also pick up on context clues for what some color patterns mean by what the orbs tell you in some situations. At the end of the game, you have to take these hidden conversational patterns to create your own argument and prove your autonomy to the aliens. It’s a game about understanding issues that are larger than life. Death, destruction, and isolation are common themes. When humanity is falling apart, will you choose to hang onto whatever semblance of comfort you have left, or face the harsh reality in front of you? If you choose the first option, you get the “resignation” endings where you stay in a comfortable simulation forever. If you choose the other option, you can free yourself and others and keep on living in reality, no matter how destroyed it is. You could tie this into the stages of grief, where one either moves into acceptance or stays stuck in the earlier stages forever.
How do you have so few likes on your comment. It's the best, most detailed I've ever read. It actually really makes sense. You just have to think about it.
I may be autistic but I'm no dummy. I'm actually normal enough to actually understand what I read. I get it & it makes sense like a jigsaw puzzle in my brain
The ending makes so much more sense now. “Blue red blue” could be a form of greeting, like “hey, I can hear you, I can understand you, hello”. “Blue blue red” might be “state your business, go ahead with what you want to request, what do you want to know”, since we then respond with “blue blue blue, purple purple purple” humans, aliens. Which might be a question as to our relation to them. Then the aliens respond with “humans, blue purple purple” which might be them asking us to leave or give in to their request. We then respond with “humans, red purple purple” which might mean “no, we are staying, we will not do your bidding”. “aliens, red purple purple, red red red” “humans, red purple purple, red red red” This is where my conjecture falls apart… “red red red” seems to be confirming something..? Is them both saying “red purple purple” a way of agreeing to coexist? But that wouldn’t make sense since the pillars are shifting away from earth in the last scene. I thought of this in the spur of the moment without searching up a guide on this alien language. Maybe I’ll update my comment after I read through some guides.
From what I gather the aliens were collecting kids (the ones you were freeing from the purple pods). In the beginning of the game they tried to lure in the protagonist's kid, but failed after the kid fell backwards into the trashbin. Why were they kidnapping kids? No idea. Maybe they are human batteries like in Matrix? Maybe their creativity is used to advance the mystery blocks technology since it can form pretty much anything? Idk, if you have any ideas let me know 😄
@@mr.rimota1939 Yea, although other reason could be that they're leverage against the protagonist. However, there is definitely a reason why the aliens are kidnapping kids and why they try and trick the protagonist with a fake family before offering up the real ones once he reaches them.
I really love the way this game is framed, the way the camera moves not only hides or shows things in the background, but it also gives justice to objects in the foreground, like at 46:24 I didn’t even notice Red-Guy in the foreground until he moved
Huge fan of the multi-hour playthroughs of a single game in one video that he's been doing more of lately. Also, seeing how genuinely Jack loves the whole vibe and aesthetic of this game and how he fanboys every time some cool sci-fi shit is super cute. P.S., I would love it if he replayed some games, even if they're not one-game-one-video type things like a new Inside would be.
I must admit I like doing story type games but I did not know if an hour or longer was fine I seem to be at a stand still with my subscribers I love them all but I do not know if I am doing anything wrong I have done a few shorter videos as well but it's still them same I am assuming the editing is fine because no one has left a comment saying otherwise not quite sure what to do with mine at the minute
man.... this guy is so incredibly lucky he got the powers in his arm instead of something like his left nut... IMAGINE how much more complicated this would be if the power was ANYWHERE other then his hand
Well, he touched the blue guy with the arm. I think, the power would be stored in balls if he touched blue guy's arm with his testicle. Which would be a thing thousand times more bizzare than what he did
I don't know about anyone else, but I really love Sean's bits at the end of his favorite games. He just talks about how much he loves them and I love it. I like seeing him happy. It's the best thing in the world to me. I want him to start doing more videos like this. Videos where he plays games and he ends up liking them. And the he spends a good 30 minutes talking about how much he liked the game. I love hearing him talk. There's just something about his voice that seems to make people so calm. Thank you Jack. You're one of the greatest people ever.
The reason I love jacks videos over ANY OTHER TH-camR is his great commentary. The jokes and the real reactions, realizations, & talking is exactly how I am. It comforts me and is like I’m by his side watching him play.
But! He wasn’t there at the church when our family died and he was there when we woke at the start of the game and that means he survived the start of the apocalypse without human help as well as mid game when we lost him so who’s to say he’s not fighting the apocalypse now ( edit: I knew it )
I love the concept of an external war between 2 larger forces taking place on earth. It divers home how small and insignificant we really are, and how large the universe is, we’re just one stepping stone of advancement for these war forces
This game is visually stunning and the gameplay is simple, yet effective to get the story across. Always appreciate Sean's commentary to bring in humor and the attention span but don't let that distract you from the fact that in 1998, the Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16ft through an announcer's table.
The moment I put this video on and heard the opening I rolled it back and got my best headphones. I'm a sucker (as we probably all are here for lol) for just good immersive and meaningful sound and composition between music, sounds, and art design. It is all a piece of art and thanks for sharing 😊
@@Dawood_Awan it's tough to describe but when you get into audio and like general theory of sound and hardware available you kinda accidentally become an audiophile with probably way too many headphones 🤣🤣
Jack: I can't believe those two left me! [after laying apparently dead for what looked like days/weeks in the middle of an alien invasion] Also Jack: Forgets about dog for half of game, which he claims to care about more than family Whew...family man right there. Hah.
This is just based on my own conjecture, but my theory for the overarching story is that the aliens weren't actually trying to invade or be violent. I think this because it turned out that everyone who got pulled up by their abduction beams were just put into a happy Matrix-style simulation and were unharmed at the end. I think what happened is all of the destruction was caused by the aliens being unable to communicate and not understanding Earth biology. So the three endings are 1: you are unable to communicate and accept going into the simulation, 2: you are unable to communicate and use your powers to destroy the aliens, which they are unprepared to defend against because they THINK they are being peaceful, and 3: you are able to communicate the harm they've done, the aliens realize their mistake and remove themselves from Earth in the hopes of fostering future cooperation. If this is true it seems likely that the three comets were also sent by the aliens. Their purpose was to give Earth life the ability to communicate with them, but they didn't realize that wouldn't be enough because human life isn't a hive mind/central consciousness like the aliens appear to be. Thanks for the video Jack!
But wait this doesn't make sense, as the aliens sent those alien dogs/wisps that shot metal beams at you if they caught you. That was pretty violent, so if the aliens are being peaceful why are they sending killer robots down?
@@senseishu937 maybe those ones were meant to be guard dogs of some sort? as we saw earlier even tho the character's wife and kid were caught by them they weren't killed, instead just brought to the ship and into the simulation. maybe the only reason they were violent towards you/the character is because you/the character in turn was trying to fight against them, or bc they viewed you as something foreign/unfamiliar because of the fact you suddenly got the blue and red powers?
@@senseishu937 I think it was an extension of the alien's lack of understanding of human biology. They arrived at Earth expecting to meet another hive-mind-like organism like themselves. This is humanizing their thinking, but I think when they saw humans they thought something like "Obviously those are the cells/neurons/drones ect. that feed information to the larger organism. I'll send in my equivalent and we'll start talking that way." So they started with the spikes, but that didn't get a response they understood. So they might have thought something like "Ok, maybe I need to make something more similar in scale to their receptors." So it made and sent in the balls, but that didn't work either. Now it's been awhile, the humans are clearly acting differently than before contact, but "Earth's hive-mind" that doesn't actually exist still hasn't initiated any meaningful contact. So the aliens go "Ok, this is making me kind of nervous. I'll make something a little more similar and have it poke them a little harder." So it made and sent in the dogs. The whole time the aliens thought they were giving the equivalent of a firm handshake to a planet-spanning sized organism, instead of terrorizing a collective of individuals.
The fact that this game hits on one of my favorite things in fictional media, large scale battles, within the first few minutes is enough for me to want to play it.
As I understand the last ending, it may be about the need to talk to one another. Sometimes it may seem like the other person is speaking alien language, that’s how hard it is to understand. But if you try hard enough, it is possible to achieve understanding and stop destroying each other’s lives
That's actually a great idea of what that meant. Also that's the idea I always convey to everyone I can. It has helped a lot - pulling people out of toxic relationships, resolving issues between people, solving arguments. Too bad I can't advise things to myself the same way as I advise for other people. I don't know why. It works for everyone else. But I just can't bring myself to do the same thing with my own life
you know when you just sit there after you finish a game with an amazing story and ending and you just kind of don't know what to do with yourself because your brain is still trying to unpack what you just watched.
Only twenty minutes in, but I already love the parallel between the child and the father. At the beginning it shows the kid trying to navigate the house, and pushing stuff over to use as platforms to get to the window. Right as you start playing as the father, you have to do something very similar when pushing over the cabinet to get out of the house. It's a really cool way to show how helpless the father is in that situation. Loving this game so far!! It's amazing how the advanced color pallette doesn't take away from the stylized environment too! In inside they used the minimal color pallette to make the visuals striking with the very intense red. In this game they are playing with different color complements and still getting the same effect. It's genius.
It's so interesting to me how Seán is a bit older than me and grew up somewhere completely different but we somehow have seen the same random childhood cartoons. It's like a memory was unearthed when he talked about it, and I was like "wait a minute, I know that cartoon!"
Honestly, I kind of dig both versions of the movie. The Spielberg one added an unnecessary element with the son and daughter, but it's not as awful as it could have been (also, Dakota Fanning is awesome and realistic). And the 50's version had the whole schmaltzy tone at the end...but both are absolutely amazing.
@@snorpenbass4196 I was about to ask this. As a child, I had a hard time reading the 100 year old book and it kinda put me off from watching the movies. But now I kinda wanna watch them since they are staples in media history.
I'm right there with you. When I saw that dog, I instantly thought, "don't they let 'em die". Especially since it instantly reminded me so much of my late Dakota, especially with all that running. The toonerville trolley was an old cartoon I had on an old VHS tape growing up!!! It was two episodes/shorts; a business man late to a trip and a beach episode. Man, that brought up soooooo many memories 😃
the ending options feel very simple (unless I'm missing something) you either give up and live a lie, choose violence or learn from the little ball guys and communicate with the aliens and choose peace, I guess... also a replay of inside would be awesome
Listen, I'm going to call a Titanic moment and say the wife, with baby, and dog had more than enough time to jump on the ship!!! Like, he was stumbling on the ship a while after the ship opened and she could've been on and at the top since clearly she runs faster even with baby boy strapped to her back. I'm like heartbroken by this moment. I still haven't seen it all from here so hopefully they survived, but c'mon she could've been on the ship.
If you’re looking for a survival game, The Long Dark is a pretty good one. There’s just been a major update to the survival mode, and the story mode is 4/5 episodes finished. Would love to see a big TH-camr like you play!
So far, I'm really stuck on the intro bit of jack just walking around as the baby. I got the image of the baby, arms out and everything as he walks, but Jack's face and voice on it as he's yelling "PARENTS! WAKE UP!" It is just the dumbest and funniest visual to me and now it's stuck forever in my brain.
1:16:20 personally, I’d love for Sean to revisit some games! I loved inside and played it myself a while ago and I’d love to watch it again, as well as some other games too.
Something I found super interesting is in scout snipers they teach you to find something out of the ordinary, look right to left. It helps spot oddities because your brain naturally goes left to right from reading so when you go right to left, stuff stands out. This game has a lot of traveling movement to the left and while watching the game play I feel like I spotted so much more than I would compared to when I played a game like little nightmares
I didn't even realise when 3 hours passed by. I started the video thinking "oh I'll just watch some of it and continue later". Boy did time flew by. Amazing game! A bit confusing sometimes but I think that's what the developer wants. To let us make our own stories and theories around it. Overall a very mesmerizing experience.
Did anyone else notice at 2:30:38 when the huge columns started playing the tones, the first few sounds exactly like the Papers Please theme tune Sean always sings! This game is superb, I'm so glad I get to watch you play through them! Even if I am still completely confused at the endings. Edit: Time Stamp Correction

That ending is phenomenal. I absolutely love games that want you to take in things as deep as just the language. Tunic was a game very much like this with its biggest secrets as well and because of it, it sits with me in fond memory still. Somerville was definitely a good experience that I'll not forget.
The only thing I didn’t like was that there is story hidden OUTSIDE of the game. You do ALL that work and nothing is revealed. ARGs aren’t for everyone the way a game like Somerville can be.
I personally think it's a bit pretentious to make the player learn what the random balls you saw are doing to get the good ending. Like, it would've been really cool and satisfying on its own to just repeat what the Aliens are saying. Having to learn language sequences is something the game never really hints you're supposed to do unless you're already looking for it, and frankly the game isn't that replayable, so making the player go through the whole thing again and take notes is just annoying.
@@TheAdvertisement Thats why its so cool. Its not something the average person will even consider and even if they do, its not something they are easily likely to solve. Plenty of games have really cool implementations of ideas such as this, but they are done in maybe a less vague or obscure way. And for the game being as short as it is, having this added level of depth and knowing its something I could have learned, would give it replay value for someone like me. I also really enjoyed the game Tunic and that had a whole language you had to learn and translate if you wanted to discover a really complex secret. Im talking converting an entire string of unknown language into something tangible like...a url link. Gets even deeper from there, being able to run audio from the link through a spectrum analyzer to discover a hidden message, possible lore teaser or direction for a sequel.
@@nethalar It is cool, but it's not appropriate. This would be an awesome puzzle to go back through the game and try... if it gave a secret or extra ending. But requiring it for the main, "good" ending? That's just dumb. I'm sorry but you give the player no chance to figure it out beforehand and then give them a dissatisfactory ending because they didn't work out your hidden puzzle. It's a great puzzle, but the main ending of the game should not be locked behind it.

SPOILER WARNING:
I feel like the ending where you come to an "understanding" is less the father "asking" the aliens to leave, but more "threatening" to blow them all up if they don't just leave.
And maybe they came to offer us simple happiness but once learnt that we wanted to leave they were like "understandable, have a nice day"
according to a reddit post deconstructing their language:
aliens: hi
humans: hi
aliens: who are you
humans: humans, aliens
aliens: humans, kill
humans: humans, help / aliens, kill
aliens: aliens, help, children
humans: aliens, kill, children / aliens, kill / humans, help, children
its worth noting the fascination the aliens have with the kids - You’re holding hands with only kids at the end, you do the whole abduction thing, etc. Maybe you were selected to represent humanity, due to having a child of your own

@@boiboi505 Not a care in the world
Here’s my theory about what the game’s endings are about if anyone is wondering (SPOILERS):
In order to understand the game, you need to understand the hidden context first. Starting with the title: “Somerville”. According to google, Somerville’s definition is:
“Scottish: of Norman origin a habitational name from Graveron-Sémerville in Eure (Normandy) from the ancient Germanic personal name Sigimar (see Siemer ) + Old French ville 'settlement'”
It usually translates to “summer town” but in this case, it can be interpreted as “summer settlement”.
I think the same as well. I did not know that the colours form sentences and that's sick.
How do you have so few likes on your comment. It's the best, most detailed I've ever read. It actually really makes sense. You just have to think about it.
I absolutely love this explaination
“aliens, red purple purple, red red red”
“humans, red purple purple, red red red”
This is where my conjecture falls apart… “red red red” seems to be confirming something..? Is them both saying “red purple purple” a way of agreeing to coexist? But that wouldn’t make sense since the pillars are shifting away from earth in the last scene.
I thought of this in the spur of the moment without searching up a guide on this alien language. Maybe I’ll update my comment after I read through some guides.
I love how angular and chunky this game looks and sounds, yet smooth and liquid at the same time. Really cool game
Idk, if you have any ideas let me know 😄
nice theory, it kinda explain why the Aliens did not kill the mom, because she is carrying something valuable to the Aliens, a.k.a the baby.
@@mr.rimota1939 Yea, although other reason could be that they're leverage against the protagonist. However, there is definitely a reason why the aliens are kidnapping kids and why they try and trick the protagonist with a fake family before offering up the real ones once he reaches them.

Ikr where did the dog gooo
@@notyarrsi just watched that part and im pretty sure he was supposed to help him down 🥲
It couldn't be weeks because the dog is alive.
I like this so much it makes a lot of sense
That... actually makes a lot of sense? The story's a lot more awesome if this is true.
The fact that this game hits on one of my favorite things in fictional media, large scale battles, within the first few minutes is enough for me to want to play it.

you know when you just sit there after you finish a game with an amazing story and ending and you just kind of don't know what to do with yourself because your brain is still trying to unpack what you just watched.
that’s how it was for stray. that game was amazing. the ending was amazing as well
Jack: remember when I was getting dog food out of the basement
The game: I’m a little foggy on the details let’s go back
2:44:01 Jack's description of 2 brain cell color dialogue and unnecessary sad piano music makes me hysterical
purple bro purple…………
blue blue blue red blue red red
I absolutely love it
As soon as the balls showed up my thought was to learn how to communicate with them and their alien friends, this game was incredible to watch! :D
Jack mentioning war of the worlds makes me want to rewatch it another 23 times. Absolute masterpiece movie
That's a great movie and can't remember how many times I've watched it.
Masterpiece? Really?! It's mediocre at BEST
Was I the only one who thought that you were already in a simulation and the “alien invasion” was other humans trying to break into it and save you
Honestly, I thought for a while that it was just humans fighting humans...
@@mee4644 me too lol
I'm right there with you. When I saw that dog, I instantly thought, "don't they let 'em die". Especially since it instantly reminded me so much of my late Dakota, especially with all that running. He was an almost completely white Border Collie, with one patch of black around his right eye and ear. Best boy and friend I could've ever asked to grow up with. I miss him every day 🤍🖤
20:59
The one creature loyal to him, and Jack forgets he’s even there, and leaves him behind
The moment where Jack says “am I the problem” to “I AM the problem” 😂
but HE is the solution to the PROBLEM
Timestamp?
also th moment where he start quoting the Taylor swift song Anti-Hero
I think jack should absolutely consider replaying both inside and limbo again for a nostalgia week! I’m on board!
I played this game through about a week or two ago when it released on Game Pass and absolutely loved it. The art style, sound design, and atmosphere are just oooweee. Love it. Excited to watch :)
2:34 i love how the car's high beams turned on when there were no other cars around, attention to detail
Seriously this is THE BEST letsplay channel on youtube hands down, not only Jack is an actual and true video game enthusiast, but the long (often full) gameplay videos is just top tier content
Thank you man, these videos help me in more ways than you can imagine
He's by far my favorite let's play TH-camr as well, I found myself not watching other streamers play gow Ragnarok so I wouldn't spoil myself for his playthrough 😂
Jack is killing it with getting videos out so fast!
@@merej_yt Man why do you do this. Its annoying as hell.
Yes

I love it when Jack's plays games like this brings back the old vibes.
Sup fellow bi friend and yes I agree 👍
Listen, I'm going to call a Titanic moment and say the wife, with baby, and dog had more than enough time to jump on the ship!!! Like, he was stumbling on the ship a while after the ship opened and she could've been on and at the top since clearly she runs faster even with baby boy strapped to her back. I'm like heartbroken by this moment. I still haven't seen it all from here so hopefully they survived, but c'mon she could've been on the ship.
Yeah man!!! I don't get it why did she suddenly froze up?! Jack was like "come on guys let's go!" and actually jumped.
@@miakamei1751 Right?! That just blew my mind lol.
By the looks of it, the purple character didn't want them on the ship, they wanted the man with the powers in his arm
@@AbBeiBei526 I noticed that too. Because Purple moved faster than both of them and could've gotten the wife and child on board.
They would of died at the railgun platform thing anyway it probably didn't matter
Jack: I kinda wanna play Inside again
Also jack: wants to have another nostalgia week
Everyone: YES!!!
Dude if he replayed inside today I’d die probably
If you’re looking for a survival game, The Long Dark is a pretty good one. There’s just been a major update to the survival mode, and the story mode is 4/5 episodes finished. Would love to see a big TH-camr like you play!
The art is so good like it's kind of both photorealistic and cartoony at the same time but it managed to pull it off without hitting an uncanny valley
Couldn’t say it better myself
couldn't myself it better, say?
@@thehareo huh?
Myself better say couldn't
sayn't?
Did anyone else notice at 2:30:38 when the huge columns started playing the tones, the first few sounds exactly like the Papers Please theme tune Sean always sings!
This game is superb, I'm so glad I get to watch you play through them! Even if I am still completely confused at the endings.
Edit: Time Stamp Correction
Ikr. I also immediately heard the papers please theme 😂
Perfect 4ths are fun!
2:30:38
The first ending got him DETAINED!
I can't believe it didn't register with him, or most of the commenters.
Something about the baby running past the couch into the darkness as Sean yells "THE ALIEN INVASION HAS BEGUN!!!"
Made me laugh a good one 🤣
I love how defensive Jack was about the dog at the very beginning, throughout the video was like "I'm sure he's fine: he always catches up," then last third of the video pretty much forgets the dogs existed.
Sean: "If this is the end of the game I'm gonna be so mad"
Me: *frantically checking how much time is left in the video*
Sean: "I hope the dog doesn't die."
Also Sean: _Keeps leaving the dog behind at every available moment._
😐
The dog likes to wander, but he doesn’t even notice

I would love another nostalgia week! I enjoyed your past ones a lot and honestly they each made me go back to your original playlists and rewatch them as well! Tons of great content!
The fact that you saw the Rev play his last show is so beautiful and heartbreaking. A true genius taken too soon.
??
@@IICARUS99 the drummer for the band Avenged Sevenfold. Seán spoke on it in the video (don’t feel like looking for a time but I believe it was during the concert part).
as a percussionist myself, I absolutely adored his little rant about drums, and the kit and everything.
This was absolutely GORGEOUS to watch, i love the enviromental storytelling so much - i mean, there are alot more questions than answers, but damn...
the wifes cry echoing at 15:06 . oml. so much effect. im a sucker for that kinda stuff really adds character and brings the game to life.
Shout-out to Jack for recording in a wider ratio idk why most people don't do that
I didn't even notice that and I'm almost done with the video
I noticed that about halfway through and was quite pleased. Finally I can watch more ultrawide content than just LTT videos.
Honestly impressed with jacks concert knowledge, makes me curious was he ever a stagehand/tech cause he sure knows what’s going on.
He did a degree in audio engineering for a couple years iirc
He was a drummer for a band,I can't remember what there name was tho

I love hearing Sean's last thoughts after he finishes a game. It's interesting to hear what he says about the game. I appreciate little things in game like designs and so on from watching Sean appreciate them alot
"Dude, remember when I was bringing dog food out of the basement"
A few seconds later.. he's back at the dog food.. lol.. epic timing. 🤣
I know right? Absolute perfect timing. He must be a psychic.
So, what happens when the ending is simpler than we all thought? Resignation is the choice to just give up, or we choose to always fight the world around us? Got that vibe throughout the game. Your awesome Sean!
don't let this man distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer's table.
Yes
and then choke-slammed through the hell in the cell onto the ring.
I’d love to see this world from other perspectives. It might be hard since it seems like it follows a kind of chosen one concept, but just another chance to explore this world would be amazing
