Opens up massive possibilities once something like MoveIt is available. You'll be able to place custom underground rail hubs with giant shopping plazas on top (such as B'ham New Street, for example). I like the fact that it has a pub (beats Hull!), but it doesn't appear to have public conveniences - no wonder everyone's walking away from the train so quickly - they're bustin'! You and I both know the pub has a sign saying "Toilets for customer use only".
Awesome. Yes, lots of possibilities. I don't necessarily like the idea of giving up a dedicated "station"/building for a large stop, but I'm sure that can be customized as well, but I really see this as a very needed way to make more realistic stops in small/rural towns. Hope you get to feeling better.
oh yes, that's what I need. I can build an old school single track train stop. Just need to find an old building that can stand in for a small town train station. 👍👍
Excellent way to do a station without a station! When space is limited etc. Or you just do not want a building. Very cool idea🤩 Hope you get over your cold soon!!
this is great. Connecting the custom station from both sides makes it far more valuable. Soon someone will find the asset to make the platforms at the right level and the platform roofs, then there will be nothing left to be desired.
This is so cool, endless possibilities. I love the station and I know you'll do beautiful things. You'll go crazy, FewC will go crazy, IMPERATUR will go crazy haha
Wonderful work! Suggestion: Use narrow pedestrian roads instead of paths as your platforms. Then you can zone one half of the road to get shops and cafés directly at the platforms.
It's so cool ❤.......also if the station had a main building for tickets and information it would look more cool.....ik u have placed some commercial to act as it but still the main entrance looks a bit empty as people can walk directly to the platform and there's no some sort of gate.......but anyways it looks awsome.....get well soon ✌️
Actually that's something impressive to keep in mind: These are vanilla functionalities only possible because this was planned to be this modular by design. It's a glimpse of what asset creators will be able to do when the editor part is operational for all of us. It enables modders to test assets they create in real time quite hassle free. Right now you could also already create some impressive hubs using dev mode in such a way ;)
@@OVERCHARGEDEGG omg thank you, ill check it out immediately. So glad i have an alternative to that massive vanilla train station. I wonder if it works for subways too, mhh.....

Not done watching yet, but man, this does open up a new world of possibilities! Just one thing, though: considering the station's design and size, it would not be that far fetched to have the cims cross the rails. I know I've seen it done
So this really opens up possibilities for stations in uneven terrain. Ie where the station building and platforms are not at the same level. There are a ton of stations cut into the terrain/in valleys to keep the lines as level as possible. I'm thinking Edinburgh Waverley, Royal Tunbridge Wells, Alexandra Palace

I think this is very cool, but I really wish there was a way to get people to stand on "platforms", not right next to the rails. If that was possible, I would ADORE this. Unfortunately now it's a cool idea but the fact that they stand on the ground, inches away from the train bugs me 😅
actually, in C:S 1 custom stations WERE possible- but it seems that this process is a bit easier than that was. (in C:S 1 you needed to use a special station track, rather than placing a simple stop marker, and the paths didn't really tell you if you were connected or not- you had to just "know" that it was in the right spot just from experience. Here the paths at least change shape when connecting to give you some sort of confirmation!)
@@OVERCHARGEDEGGI remember that you added a metro line to the big station in the CBD. But for the small towns in the chain island would be a cool thing to check!!! :D
Im thinking multi-level hub where internal train lines meets intercity lines coming in at at different angles whats brilliant is no 2 train stations have to be the same just need some platforms and buildings
Tried doing this with elevated metros. I didn't have much luck. It works to a degree… just very difficult to get the pedestrian paths in the right spots. Hopefully you can give it a try!
Having the pedestrian walkways cross the tracks isn’t as weird as it sounds. I used to work in a building near the train station in San Juan Capistrano, CA, and there is a pedestrian crossing there, going from the station to a neat little historical area on the other side. I walked there every day on my lunch break, and I almost always had to stop for a train crossing in one direction or the other (or both). It was a bit annoying but no more dangerous than any other level crossing. Probably less so because the trains were moving very slowly due to having to stop at the station.
Great build as usual, highly creative. Is there a way to shelter the cims from the elements? Sweaty sticky cims in the summer or wet and freezing cims in the winter... I just don't know if I'd be able to bare the smell of the train ride 👃😅
Would it make sense to add a traffoc light for that huge pedestrian/road intersection? An yes, this feature is a minirenaissance in the making for cs2! Odd that this wasnt base game; it looks like it works identical to the bus system
Curious how the "Comfort" mechanic works for these - do all train stops have the same comfort level or would these custom stops be less comfortable than the in-game station? Either way, this is great, and will allow lots of flexibility!
This is really cool. This takes Egg-detailing to a new level. Only thing that's bugging me about it is the passengers literally walking along at the same level as the track itself. There should be a raised platform. Is there a way to do that?
Cheers mate! Not currently, even recessing the line into the ground a little will still cause them to stand on the tracks, just now the cims interact with that particular network
You need to get the Thunderstore app for your PC. You can then select cs2, your platform and then build a profile of mods. It's really simple, it just replaced steam, use it as your launcher instead

Not a fan of the concrete jungle esthetic, Egg. Looks hot and uncomfortable. Despite the shade provided by the trees, which only shades the benches at that exact time of day once per day, on very warm days those platforms would be sweltering with reflected heat from the pavement and the benches would be baking from direct sunlight. Does the game have covered self-shading seating, like a bus shelter or pavilion that can be situated closer to the tracks?
