  • In this video I’ll be showing you how to properly mount your scope to your ar15, ar10, or rifle. I will also show you how to get the proper diopter ocular focus and eye relief for yourself. I’m mounting the vortex razor gen 3 1-10 ffp on a badger ordnance condition one mount with a top mounted aimpoint t2. This video is sped up to decrease length. Why would you put such a big clunky red dot on top of the LPVO when your razor gen 3 has one of the sharpest, brightest, and huge field of view. The scope body dissapears at 1x and is one of the best magnifications... I recognize your video is for general mounting but I'm surprised you didn't make mention of the level indicators built into the scope body under the capped turrents or the level indicators on the Badger Ordnance mount. Would probably be useful information to the viewers.

@@jaybrookfield6823 I chose that 2 moa red dot because it’s an actual rifle red dot instead of an rmr which is smaller but designed for pistol with a 3.25 moa red dot. I don’t like to use lpvos on 1x for close range shooting, it’s slower then using an offset or top mounted red dot. Razor gen 3 is a great lpvo, I personally don’t like to use them for close range shooting even though it can be done. Top mounted red dots are also good for passive night vision shooting. From what I saw, there aren’t any level indicators on the mount nor the scope. Those dots on the side from my understanding are to show where you turret is at and where you brightness level is. I saw no level indicators on the badger ordnance mount either. If I noticed them or knew they were there I would’ve mentioned it.

Good points on the red dot. Definitely could see it being much quicker as you pointed out. The mount level indicators are on the inner part of the body rings. There are four of them, they are subtle. Great tutorial.

@@jaybrookfield6823 offset red dot is a lot quicker just to rotate the rifle but just depends what you like. I honestly didn’t notice any level indicators on either but thanks for pointing that out. I appreciate that thank you.

    What height is the mount?

1.70”. Just tall enough to where I’m not scrunching my neck to see but not too tall to where it’s harder to use when prone.

@GearAndGuns I've always used 1.50 in thr aero but thinking of trying the 1.70. Just don't want to give up much that the 1.50 gave. Many people seem to like the 1.7 as a good medium... do you notice your hold change alot on the 1.70?

@@HKX_ORANGECHICKEN I haven’t noticed a big change on the 1.7” for holds but there will be some. Also kinda depends on where you set your zero too, lpvo was zeroed for 100 yards per vortex. I’m switching to a 100 yard zero for my top red dot because when I was zeroed at 50 yards I was like 5 inches off up close. I haven’t used a 1.5” for long range so it’s hard to compare it to a 1.7”. But if you go from a 1.5 to a 1.93 or 2.2 you’ll definitely notice a bigger change on holds. I don’t think 1.5-1.7” there will be a big change unless you have a close zero or your shooting really far, then you’ll notice it a bit more at long ranges. Hope this helps.
