I remember Kathleen Brown ran for Governor in the 90's.
I-80 didn't exist when she lived here. U.S. Highway 40, same as 16th St. runs next to the mansion. It Is Not I-80. Now it is Highway 160 which runs alongside the Cal Delta.
Governor Jerry Brown, Kathleen's brother, moved back into the mansion in 2015.
Is it STILL open for tours in 2021?

That house better haunted! If it's not, then it's not worth the public funds to maintain it. There better pictures from people standing in the front lawn with a ghostly image looking out the top floor window.
Well we can't just let a peice of caliphornian history be left abandoned. And it would cost more to tear it down.

That’s a different person, she has noting the do with the political family of California.
His first time around as governor, Jerry Brown rejected the mansion as too ostentatious and rented a small apartment near the state capital. I guess he became a accustomed to a more opulent lifestyle over the years, having lived in a $3 million home in the Oakland Hills for around ten years. Like most liberals, he gradually developed a sense of entitlement and a willingness to stick it to the taxpayer, so he sold his Oakland hills home and moved into this government-provided housing.
Why? Historic House museums should stay house museums and open to the public. Why not just keep the Oakhills Home instead or buy a newer house? Makes me sick.

He has such an exquisite taste, many many many outlandish renovations AND PAID FOR IT OUT OF HIS OWN POCKET RIGHT AFTER HE DONATED HIS YEARLY SALARY BUT BEFORE HE WROTE A CHECK TO THE TREASURY DEPT FROM ALL THE PROFITS MADE FROM FOREIGN DIGNITARIES STAYING AT THE TRUMP HOTEL!
