I think this is an amazing question. My answer may not be correct, but I think it's best to go by experience. Culture teaches a structured set of beliefs and behaviors. So, to unlearn something that is so deeply rooted in you through family, environment, and society, commit yourself to study something of substance. Study theories and philosophies that connect with you on the deepest of levels. Many people turn to religion, science, or mathematical principles. For me, not because I grew up in a Christian home, Jesus became someone I studied heavily. His teachings became life changing. I was able to trade in bad concepts for good concepts. The added benefit to it was that I have gained more favor and possessions in life that I thought I'd never have and be able to maintain. My hope is that you find what works for you...and I pray Jesus will be that answer. God Bless.
