  • I received a comment in my last video about fixing the wheelbase alignment issue and that it would cause another series of issues. In response, I tested that theory and my results are in this video. If you have any other issues with this kit, (And I did find one of my own too) please let me know and I will try and investigate them and put them to the test in another video.

      You are welcome. I didn't want to build this kit for a few years, but I think now I am going to have to get started since I got this far and people still are telling me I am going to run into more issues this way. I want to prove them wrong and get this solved.

      @@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage Exactly thats the reason why you dont want to listen to other people!To prove them wrong!Even if YOU "maybe" wrong!I am watching your vids now for over 3 years and i am very disappointed that after the first tip of you i "critizise" , that there is so much ... i dont know how to name it!Ignorance?

    This kit has so many alignment issues a full chassis change might be a solution but what I've found with the Fairlane is that it would take a lot of cutting to fit. I don't know if the 69 cougars are an easier solution/replacement. Or if you are going to do a lot of cutting how about the full Holman Moody chassis from the broken nosed polar lights kit

    • @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage
      @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I was thinking of the Polar Lights chassis. I have heard that the car has a "Broken" front nose though. If I remember right, the body bends up in the front, or something strange like that.

      @@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage yes it does,Trevor, through several releases and it,over here is about 60 quid new,so very expensive. To cure it involves either good luck with a heat source or slicing the fenders and pulling down. So the project would very much depend on cost and availability. The Fairlane parts swap or polar lights chassis swap both involve a lot of fit tests and cutting out the inner fenders of the Torino to start with. I do think that was a very good 'spot' of yours on the rear panel waffle pattern👍and what should have and not have Cobra badges. . I love that sort of research👍. I've thoroughly enjoyed this investigation we have done and Willi Wass's input helpful too. I don't mind the input and hope for more comments like it. At least 1 more person is thinking about the problem in depth. 👍.

      @@petesmodelcarcustoms584 For sure. Willi has been a great help. I do think that at this stage in my game, I am just going to try and steer away from accuracy and just go with "Can I get it together".

      @@MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage your already sorting the accuracy with your analysis of the badging,grilles and shock towers.👍👍. What do you think of the interior 'details'??😀

      I'm going to hid from those! LOL! - No seriously, I'll have to have a look. I also noticed a few other points of issue on the chassis, but luckily they don't totally interfere with anything.

    Ah yes. I see that the technical team is on the issue. My choice would be as Trevor has decided. Cuz i can move wheels and axles and dash. But to each his own guys. More than one way to do it.

      Well, maybe I am wrong in how I did it...but we will see when I make the video where I build it. When parts are glued together, there is less chance of things like the interior bucket moving. At worst, I think the chassis would buckle in the middle, or at least bend upwards, or push the rear bumper right out of the body work. At best, it works out like it should.
      Either way, with me chopping off the alignment pins, there's no going back.

    It's a shame this kit is such a turd. It appears to be very popular.

    • @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage
      @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's not really a "Turd", it can be salvaged, but there is a LOT of work involved. I am currently making a video where I fix all the issues, but it's really taking a long time to get this model straightened out. I've learned a lot watching other modelers attempt it, and I discovered a LOT they missed too. The video should be good...but this thing is really burning up my energy.

    Again!when you do it this way the chassis hits the "Firewall" of the interior tub and get pushed out!The Chassis doesnt get int the body that far anymore!If you watch your vid you can see it right at the 7.50 mark that when you push the chassis back the interior tub pushes the chassis out of the body!As i wrote befor its so much easier just to file the holes 2-3 mm in the direction you need to move them!You dont have to drill a hole!What is there so difficult to understand?And at 11.50 you dont see the dash/interior move????Wow!Iam speechless!Dont get me wrong,but iits ignoring what you by yourself showing in your vid!But whatever build it this way if you dont want to listenn to tips from others!Look at 15.50 how far now the chassis comes out of the body at the front!

      Looks fine @16:32, or did you not see the video at that point?

    • @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage
      @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think you mean to say "Bulkhead" of the interior tub. Anyway, "Sliding" the interior back like I did without gluing in the interior would shift it anyway. That's why @16:32 I just drop it right in place in it's new position.
      Thank you for watching my videos for 3 years, I appreciate your support!

      I found what Willi is saying is right. There is some part of the interior pushes down on the chassis and stops it sitting level in the body. You will find about 1mm down at front. My new one also has a slight twist to the body. I'm looking for another old release to start again. I don't think the shock tower mounts are a good line up guide either. I don't think they are in the right place. The cougar chassis might fit better.

    • @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage
      @MonsterHobbiesModelCarGarage  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I was too aggressive with sliding the frame back and forth, but I can see that going too far back starts to move things. It's just a matter of getting it "right".

      Not sure on the Cougar chassis as it's a smaller car.
