I know that it's early, I know it's truly hard to tell from just numbers - but as a syndra player I believe this is a HUGE buff and much like their other mid scope reworks, will need nerfed like 4 times. The W true damage is something that is technically part of her kit on live but you only get it literally at level 18. The R execute helps her nuke so much more just being able to guarantee you pick up shutdowns And the consistency of her stuns is currently so annoying. Any QOL is welcome. For sure she's 53%+ win rate and I gain like 300 LP from this. Lol
I 100% agree her win rate is going to go up from these changes assuming they come in unaltered on live. It looks like they removed the E range increase from the kit, so you're getting something absurd like 84degrees on E, but it doesn't go as far. I'll have to adapt myself at the play style change. At first glance I'm thinking that Night Harvester is going to be more useful now because PoM and her new passive will make any mana items redundant. Get massive harvester procs in a team fight.

LS you may already know but the W true damage is from when she has fully upgraded her W (in other words prior to this lvl 18) So she now has access to it much faster ❤
Pretty sure W max was her 2nd one, so level 13. Edit: I apparently had outdated information. E max is done in 80% of her games, and has a 5% higher winrate than W max. Thanks to those who updated me.
The consistency of Q damage, being exchanged for higher sphere uptime and more spheres at once, really makes her ult seem more attractive to me. Theres nothing more annoying on syndra than trying to maximize spheres so you can get that turbo ult off. I can at least get behind that change.
I mean imagine a syndra having like 0 cd on q like karthus in mid too late game. So she can spam q like 6 times in 6.5 sec dont hitting single q then press ult 🤣 fun thing 100 to 0 just with ult

idk about you but 90% of my kills are just 100-0 QEWRQ. Now you'll be able to do QEWQRQ which is just 1 orb worth of damage more. idk for how long the orbs are staying now but I never really looked for these 'turbo' ults. You Q according to how little your opponent cares to give his life over cs. You don't just spam Q to get max uptime on them. Only situation I would have like max orbs up is where the only target to ult is a tank and then you scatter for a big stun.
The syndra play pattern remain the same as it was in S8-9, because if you hit an E Q combo (with upgraded Q around lvl 6-8), you'll be able to proc an other Q on the stun duration. It will just be a little more "skilled" to have lethal because you have to play better on agro timing other from that point you are even safer than befor with a double Q then E
Scatter the Weak is quietly just one of the best abilities in the entire game, fast-moving multi-person cc that's hard to dodge and with good sphere placement is imposible to dodge...any buffs or changes to Syndra or that ability worry me.
No fr LS saying syndra doesn't have good utility as if scatter the weak isn't one of the best pick tools in the game as far as basic abilities go. It's a 1.5 aoe stun with what like 800-900 range. It's definitely hard to maximize her potential, but you can't tell me you remember knight/caps/faker syndra in their respective periods of dominance and think she lacks utility. Def not a true control mage, but her e is conceptually broken.

the thing with W evolution is that now you consistently get it 2nd whereas in most games with current syndra you level E 2nd thus evolving W the last (im nowhere near level of game understanding to make claims but on this one i'd say it's counterproductive in her current state because in her preferable levelling pattern she loves stats from levelling E but she'd also love extra damage from evolving W which she doesn't reach in most games, and the rework may be aiming at fixing that)
Ok wait but I'm pretty sure her early game lethal threshold is now higher at those same points with sorcs and lost chapter. You lose about 10 dmg on e and little bit on the ulti, but as long as you are level 6/7 you are getting an extra q worth of dmg when you hit stun, since you have the second charge, which is obviously significantly more dmg than you are losing. She probably still has less kill pressure than she did before durability update, but she is definitely regaining at least some of her ability to kill early. Ntm you will be getting her w upgrade before level 13 now, likely closer to level 9 or 10, which is going to be another increase in her kill threshold coming earlier than normal.

"stat checkers" is a term used to describe champions that scale into the game based off stats that increase with the items that you work to acquire, which is supposed to happen, all champions do it, people who use the term usually prefer the new overloaded kits that counter 80% of champions but "are not considered a problem". stat checkers are not a problem, people just hate playing against straight forward playstyle, which many prefer.
15% execute is actually pretty insane. With rabadon and void staff. Ult with 7 spheres is absolutely going to kill anyone on click. I expect nerfs to 10% or even lower. Even as Syndra mainer, I think they made her a little too op.

The current damage value is 490/735/980 damage New Syndra can cast Dark Sphere 4 times in 28 seconds which will cost a total of 160/180/200 mana at levels 1, 4, and 5. Assuming the damage is unchanged, it will deal 280/420/560 damage Overall, the damage she deals with her Q over a duration is ~half. This changes her from being a burst-mage into a caster-mage. She's more mana-efficient with this change, but the overall damage across the board is considerably lower. Bonus: LS is going to rage more than normal when an ADC on the same team as Syndra buys The Collector.

Pound for pound you're losing Qs once the fight lasts more than about 8 or 9 seconds. To be fair, you don't pick Syndra for fights that last that long, so the charge change is an overall buff, but that comment made me laugh.

She has less damage in her kit until the q awaken which can realistically be achieved at lvl 7 easily maybe even 6 but 9 for sure and then after that she only gets more dmg given the extra ball for ult and access to the true dmg on w which she didn't get in most of her games.
To be fair she gets her q upgrade at level 9 right now, and that extra 20% against champs really makes a difference. So this spike is gonna be even earlier i guess
Someone that can not allow you to play the game given they have the stats for it, usually trough a low skill cealing. Syndra is not the best example, but look at someone like tahm kench. He can just run you down while applying easy to hit slows and stuns and has barely any skill expression. If you can prevent him from running you down you win, if you cant he does. It takes very little skill. Nasus is another example of a champ that can run you down. This champions tend to fall off late since their defensive stats mean nothing to an adc late and since they have to run you down they always strike second, giving the adc time to shred them
"Before if Syndra had lost chapter/ss and hit a Q/E in lane, the next Q/E she could full combo and kill you" I really didn't see an issue with this when she falls off late game and "scaling champ" Viktor can just Q/E/ult you and do the same thing with items. And he only has to land one of those to kill you
because hurts competivive. When syndra has early burst potencial she is perma picked, that means that victor and orianna enter as realiable matchups. Then you have the standard orianna, syndra, victor meta that we had almost half of the time since the begining of pro.
As, a 2 million mastery points Syndra, thanks I hate it. Q longer cooldown feels really bad, increasing duration of spheres reduces skill ceiling with managing sphere durations. W changes are fine I guess, I mean I appreciate the quality of life for sphere detection radius and not having minions die when I pick them up. E reducing the stun duration irritates me, since it's already reduced to 0.6 seconds just from having multiple tenacity items. So I can hit it and then not be able to follow up at all. R Why are they putting more power into the one ability that doesn't depend on skill as much again. Executes at 15% Hp is going to feel so annoying to play against. I guess I'll just have to see how this turns out, but first reaction is I don't like.
I dont know if that "fixes" syndra problems. Isnt one of her problems is still her range she lacks range compared to other contol mages? She is still outranged by viktor e, azir q, and Orianna q and Corki ults. As a stattchecker that wants to get oneshot people, getting outranged in lane should be a huge problem. She should never be able to reach another control mage on her own and getting statts while beeing outranged in a solo lane makes this even harder. Right now i only see her as a counter to short ranged or melee mids, since these buffs doesnt solve these range problems. Maybe there is a mid/jungle combination that solves this, but i dont know about that.
@@alex2005z i meant to say she needs an answer to range, not range. Right now her only answer is an 18 second cd spell, that is very hard to hit, while she is also not getting much cdr. Veigar solves that problem with his passiv allowing him to build ability haste first and not relying on gold. Veigar beeing behind doesnt stop his usage midgame (zoning with cage every 10sec and executing with ult), while beeing behind is almost a death sentence for syndra. Syndra needs ap for her kit to be relevant and cannot afford that much haste. The update should give her ap around minute 25- 30, when beeing outranged, because she cannot properly trade. So the update turns her into a worse veigar, that doesnt not "fix" her problems. My argument still stands.

I understand that any damage dealt by R that takes the enemy below 15% will execute. So whether it’s the first ball or sixth ball whichever takes them below the threshold will kill.
I don't like these changes. These don't fundementaly change what Syndra is, so she will still be problematic in the same way. Just now it takes her some AH to be the same champ but with an execute and mini Rabadons.

I'm a Syndra main, and trying her on the PBE I was... really let down, sadly :( The added CD on her Q makes her feel extremely clunky, and honestly changes a lot of her gameplay flow. Moving around and doing consistent damage with her Q's was a huge part of playing Syndra, but with these changes that part of her playstyle really gets deemphasized. Which really sucks, because I a lot of her changes were really cool :/ To give you an idea of how the new Syndra feels, imagine playing an ADC vs playing Graves.
in season 7 I abused my way up to plat on EUW by onetricking syndra mid lost chapter and you were handing one shots left and right it was actually stupid

Every adc player's nightmare fuel. Now you need an MR item in your itemization against this otherwise you straight up die if she R's you with 3-4 balls on the ground
adcs are gonna get mega fucked. I play her a decent amount and the amount of times I just set up a 7 ball ult and flash R ignite with no QWE to 100 -0 an adc is quite common. If she is gonna have more balls for her ult (providing they remove the 7 ball cap?) +15% execute means her play pattern is literally just gonna be pressing R on a carry.
As a Syndra player this rework is stupid. Is not gonna help the champ and is not going to help the community get into the champion. Most games are decided when you get to level 13 and you probably weren't able to affect the game as much as you could have before. Take the execute and give me old Syndra. I was able to 1v3 when fed with old Syndra, with current Q you won't be able to do anything mid game for 7s (-haste) after you used 2 Q's.

Syndra rework is like same mechanics like Viktor. They changed the item of viktor into killing takedowns, cannon and cs when upgrade his skills.

This champions tend to fall off late since their defensive stats mean nothing to an adc late and since they have to run you down they always strike second, giving the adc time to shred them

And he only has to land one of those to kill you
because hurts competivive. When syndra has early burst potencial she is perma picked, that means that victor and orianna enter as realiable matchups. Then you have the standard orianna, syndra, victor meta that we had almost half of the time since the begining of pro.
in terms of the viktor comparison syndra could do so from a much longer range and much faster while being locked into less damage

Q longer cooldown feels really bad, increasing duration of spheres reduces skill ceiling with managing sphere durations.
W changes are fine I guess, I mean I appreciate the quality of life for sphere detection radius and not having minions die when I pick them up.
E reducing the stun duration irritates me, since it's already reduced to 0.6 seconds just from having multiple tenacity items. So I can hit it and then not be able to follow up at all.
R Why are they putting more power into the one ability that doesn't depend on skill as much again. Executes at 15% Hp is going to feel so annoying to play against.

I dont know if that "fixes" syndra problems. Isnt one of her problems is still her range she lacks range compared to other contol mages? She is still outranged by viktor e, azir q, and Orianna q and Corki ults. As a stattchecker that wants to get oneshot people, getting outranged in lane should be a huge problem. She should never be able to reach another control mage on her own and getting statts while beeing outranged in a solo lane makes this even harder. Right now i only see her as a counter to short ranged or melee mids, since these buffs doesnt solve these range problems. Maybe there is a mid/jungle combination that solves this, but i dont know about that.
She isnt a control mage, she is a burst mage, so it makes sense for lower range (look at veigar range)

Veigar solves that problem with his passiv allowing him to build ability haste first and not relying on gold. Veigar beeing behind doesnt stop his usage midgame (zoning with cage every 10sec and executing with ult), while beeing behind is almost a death sentence for syndra.
Syndra needs ap for her kit to be relevant and cannot afford that much haste. The update should give her ap around minute 25- 30, when beeing outranged, because she cannot properly trade. So the update turns her into a worse veigar, that doesnt not "fix" her problems. My argument still stands.

Is the execute on her r after the dmg (so if 4 spheres hit, will the 5th execute after the 4 before brought the target below 15% hp)?
I understand that any damage dealt by R that takes the enemy below 15% will execute. So whether it’s the first ball or sixth ball whichever takes them below the threshold will kill.

I'm a Syndra main, and trying her on the PBE I was... really let down, sadly :(
The added CD on her Q makes her feel extremely clunky, and honestly changes a lot of her gameplay flow. Moving around and doing consistent damage with her Q's was a huge part of playing Syndra, but with these changes that part of her playstyle really gets deemphasized. Which really sucks, because I a lot of her changes were really cool :/
To give you an idea of how the new Syndra feels, imagine playing an ADC vs playing Graves.

Then she had a stacking passive: whenever hit someone poisoned and for every second an enemies is poisoned and for every kill you gained stacks. At certain thresholds(if i remember correctly 125/250/400) she got heal from her e, 15%ap an then 30% ap. I could be wrong on numbers cause they changed it once or twice. And now the no boots xd

adcs are gonna get mega fucked. I play her a decent amount and the amount of times I just set up a 7 ball ult and flash R ignite with no QWE to 100 -0 an adc is quite common. If she is gonna have more balls for her ult (providing they remove the 7 ball cap?) +15% execute means her play pattern is literally just gonna be pressing R on a carry.
but her Q cd is nearly twice as long now. laning gonna suck

As a Syndra player this rework is stupid. Is not gonna help the champ and is not going to help the community get into the champion. Most games are decided when you get to level 13 and you probably weren't able to affect the game as much as you could have before.
Take the execute and give me old Syndra. I was able to 1v3 when fed with old Syndra, with current Q you won't be able to do anything mid game for 7s (-haste) after you used 2 Q's.
