      @@findfixxflip helped a lot! Replacing the water pump and accidentally removed a compressor bolt. Couldn't find the torque specs anywhere and your video was the only place! Sadly couldn't find replacement bolts nearby and am impatient, so hopefully a single reused bolt manually tightened won't come back to bite me! :)

      It looks easy, But there's a ton of stuff to take off and bolts are hard to get to, Set aside 4-5 hours to do this. I did this over the space of two days. 2 or 3 hours each day. Good luck , im around if you have any questions . Thanks for watching🙏

    Great video man ! Saved me big bucks also for the Compressor wire connection. You can always clip the new connector by a few inches and solder the new connector to the original bmw connection to have a fresh new good connection (my original connector broke off)

    Great video! Nice step by step video. I have been working on my E90 for years and my compressor has been shot for 4 years. I try to watch different videos to convince me to do it. As much as I enjoyed your video I still feel like it’s not worth it just for 1 month of comfort. I am also worried that one of those damn hoses will fail or break once opening them.

    • @findfixxflip
      @findfixxflip  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not really hard to do, but more time consuming since you have to remove quite a bit. as for the hoses most are just clipsx except for lower ones on the waterpump. It is something that you want to take your time with but once everythings is out, the install is pretty smooth.

    Excellent well-detailed tutorial.
    I think the guys saying it was "easy" or only takes 45 minutes were gaslighting you. And the music didn't bug me since I felt like I was watching a mechanical kidney replacement and unsure if the patient was going to survive.
    This is NOT an easy job for an amateur mechanic. For every clip, plug, seal, bolt, and hose on a high mileage car, there is a high chance of things going very wrong quickly.
    I only have two suggestions if the car is higher miles, given how much crap has to be ripped out, I would just replace the thermostat as a matter of preventative maintenance. Plus, apparently on older cars, the schrader valves on the lines seem to be a potential source of slow leaks over time so I would just replace them out of caution given the system is already discharged.
    One question: How did you diagnose this was a compressor failure and not a sensor or AC refrigerant leak on one of the lines?

    • @findfixxflip
      @findfixxflip  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you very much.. So yes i agree with you, this isn't a 45 mins job, I think i was able to do 4 hours when i had a lift. So before i started this i checked the pressure with the ac gauges. and there is certain point when the clutch will turn on as long as it reads the right freon level. I believe that my friend had overfilled the system, yet no fan clutch was engaging. Also you can run a test lead onto the compressor and see if its getting a signal voltage to activate.
      This video didn't get alot of views, ( th-cam.com/video/1yqJ_cuauJY/w-d-xo.html) but it will show you how to do the charge process right and save yourself a bunch of money. Thank's for watching and i appreciate your kind words. Stay tuned i have some crazy content coming up of some builds ive been working on..🙏

    My pulley just broke off on my E60 528i LCi on the way home from Autozone. It was making a knocking sound but, my AC still blew cold so I was just gonna replace the pulley but looks like I’ll have to replace the whole ac compressor now and the serpentine belt that broke with it.

    So I followed the entire video perfectly and the compressor will not engage at all. I can see the clutch not spinning, and the radiator fan never comes on. I got the pressure up to 50 psi while filling and nothing happens. Any ideas of what to check? Already reseated the wire for the compressor.

    If this is a Denso compressor, sorry if the info is in the video and I missed it, it came filled with PAG oil. Unfortunately Denso comes with a very poor write-up on what to do with the oil. In a nutshell it tells you to pour oil out of your new compressor into a clean container, next pour the oil out of your old compressor and then put the quantity found in the old compressor back into the new one. Problem is it does not tell you anything about the existence of a drain plug. The drain plug is the 10mm bolt between the pulley and the black electrical connector. It has a brass washer. If you try to pour through the drain oil will come out easy if it is there. To get it all out you may need to turn the pulley. Not much oil if any will come out through the AC line ports.
    Another issue is the amount of oil to put in. I generally do not buy the recommendation to use the amount drained out of the old compressor into the new one. My evaporator was leaking refrigerant and PAG oil for years. When my compressor died, it started leaking out of the pulley, it was because it was starved of PAG oil. When the AC system is considered dry, Denso recommends 2.4 oz of PAG oil be put into the compressor. The whole system will take more, not sure if it is 6 oz that findfixxflip puts into the compressor. But the balace of oil can and should be added at the time of recharge.
    The location of the drain plug and the 2.4 oz figure are as per the technical expert from Denso.

    • @findfixxflip
      @findfixxflip  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for your technical reply.. So as a general when replacing a compressor i use 4-6oz of pag oil.. i have done this religiously for many years with no issues.. just make sure to screw in plugs before installing so you dont spill out all your fluid.. hope this helps 🙏

      Not sure man, I just replaced the whole ac as one unit, I think it was only around $200 on ebay.. I don't think I would go to the trouble of trying to rebuild one, maybe if it was closer to $500 for the part..

      @@djcharmde.xtremist2110 my buddy did go with a Chinese one off ebay, but for the price, it seems to be functioning good for about 6 months now.. also you might have better luck pulling a used one from junkyard. Good way to tell if its ok, is to see if it has pressure when you disconnect the ac lines, if it spits most likely its fine. Hope that helps

      Congralutions my friend, I was just giving a general time line. Without a lift, and the fact that it got dark which made it hard to see definitely increased the finish time. Also during the day it is 115 degrees here which made everything extremely hot to touch including tools. Yeah job is pretty involved, basically like replacing your waterpump. Probably a little quicker if you had a lift, but this took me about 4 hrs first day, then a couple the next day. You have to take basically everything out on top and bottom. Plus time to electronically prime system once refilled. Definitely not an easy job, but doable as long as someone takes their time. Thanks for getting involved and watching the channel. Stay tuned because im going to be making a complete video on the 328i- 330i tune bimmerlabs offers.
