    For anyone seeing this video, the most important step is disrupting your opponents balance by forcing him to make that inital step forward, without that if you make this move it leaves you very vulnerable to a counter sweep

    I learned where you connect then both fall, I like this one just in case someone tries to fight me on concrete (Don't have to touch your knee on the ground)
    Also if they step out you can switch stance and go for an outside trip on the other leg.
    Sorry don't know the judo translation for outside trip but inside trip = ouchi gari

      I think ouchi gari is major inner reap and the outer one would be o soto gari.

    Any tips on how I can prevent my training partner from doing an outside trip when I place my foot in the middle like this?

      Eric R In order to win that position you have to dominate the grips. It’s truly a matter of who’s got who. Whenever you’re in the T position where you’re stances form a capital T and you’re hips are close someone is in danger or both grapplers are dependent on who’s controlling the opponents posture and balance.
