great vlog! Turkey is so beautiful! I always find it funny when people forget Turkey has been a part of European history for ages and has had a huge impact on Europe. I mean the Ottoman lands literally stretched all the way to Vienna back in the day lol but I get what you mean lol. That food cooked in a clay pot looked beyond delicious! Must try it next time I visit
Yeah THAT, but also the region of Anatolia was once majority Christian, and was inhabited by the Greeks for centuries. The Ottoman culture is fairly new if you look at the entire timeline. Turkic people were still nomadic plainsmen when Greeks were building spectacular cities and temples across the country. The Greeks pretty much built the country.
@@briantravelman they built it but a lot of what they built is in ruins as is the case in most of the former Byzantine territories. Additionally, there were other Anatolian civilizations and peoples that later became Hellenized so it wasn't only Greeks building early Anatolia. In general that entire region is a mashup of different civilizations that merged together and/or that built themselves over the ruins of another people. Tons of spectacular buildings and sites were also built by the Ottomans much later as you mentioned. Ottomans themselves were a mixture of converted Greeks, Turkic nomads, Balkan converts, Arabs, converted Armenians and Georgians etc...It is really one of the most fascinating places to study in regards to its history. Plus, despite the fact that the Turkic people who migrated to Anatolia were mostly nomadic there were also Turkic tribes who were settled in cities and also built wonders in Central Asia. Samarkand is a testament to their early-ish architectural style (which was also a combination of neighboring Middle Eastern and South Asian styles but still with a unique Turkic flair). You should visit Uzbekistan some time! One of the most gorgeous and underrated places in the world. I loved visiting it and the people are super friendly to foreign visitors.

@@briantravelman dude I recommend you to search more before you write. Turkish people become sedentary at 745 A.D (we conquered Anatolia at 1071 A.D)! By the way I do not even talk about SAKA TURKS WHO WERE LİVİNG İN "CAUCASİA" 665 B.C (ANATOLİA)...Basicly we were a warrior nation and wanted to spread more lands like Europe and Anatolia. Thast why you think we were nomadic 😄 Love from Turkey bro ✌
@@briantravelman lol but the best thing turks colonized and ruled over large parts of europe. Europeans can talk big in front of Africans and native Americans and indians but in front of turks they lost.

Don't spend your money in Turkey which is a nation made up of stolen lands that were obtained by the bloodshed of millions of innocent Christians.

If you all decide to go out, check out the Tower Pub near the Galata Tower. It was a super fun place. Met some very cool people there! I just flew back to the states from there. Then drink one of their "Tower" drinks for me. I forgot the name but it was delicious. Don't forget the Raki either!

I live in Turkey and find it safer than the US right now. Last year we drove from Izmir in the far west to Dogubeyazit in the east then to Mardin and Antakya in the south - near Mardin we travelled along the Syrian border. A great trip and so much to see.
My stepbrother traveled to Southern Baja California he took all his covid shots he been tested before he left Mexico still came home sick but not with covid and had to stay another week at home and work at home and he had a headache for 3 days. So no matter what when you travel keep your knees up and get rest plus my brother is a very heavy drinker and that doesn't help when you are traveling.
So it may not be coping you make it sick just because your body is worn out.
