Joe's super duper chicken tractor, 6'x10' run, 3'x6' coop, 3 nesting boxes, complete with a stained glass rooster window, can easily be moved by hand, or pulled with a mower, tractor, or truck.
Very good with the excentric wheel lifting, I thought of this and wondered why no one has thought of it sooner. All this lifting and placing wheels on and off, this is the way to do it. Good job.
I think all the tractors I’ve seen this looks nice in yard and not a eye sore ,i would put in front yard for all to enjoy driving by and maybe some kids would enjoy and know where eggs come from, love it
Truly amazing! Thank you for sharing your expertise in preparing, planning, & building. What kind of chickens do you have? & What natural, wholesome feed would you recommend for supplement grass & bugs- so their will be high in protein & calcium? Thanks again.
So last night, I’m sitting up in bed watching your video with my wife watching her baking shows next to me. She rolls over and asks me to turn the volume down cause she can’t hear her show. She says “Are you watching Roadhouse?” Hahaha! I said “What are you talking about ?” She said “Ain’t that Sam Elliott talking?” Hahaha! “No!” I’m laughing and trying to tell her that I’m watching a guy that built himself a nice chicken tractor with wheels. She scoots closer looking over my arm and says “Let me see.” Lol. Now mind you, I’ve been watching these coop and chicken tractor videos all winter and she never even once bothered. I tell you she ain’t never met the man but, that woman loves Sam Elliott so much I’m starting to get a little jealous. Lol. So don’t be surprised if your subscriber numbers and views go up just a little bit.
Seems like the lawn mower is more trouble than it's worth. In the time it takes to go get it and take it back the tractor would have been moved. To each his own I guess.
This is EXACTLY what I need and want - a chicken tractor that can be moved with a good riding lawn mower. Do you sell the design plans? Or at least material shert, etc?
Looks great, Do you always lift it onto the board, then to the mower, off onto the board and back to the ground of in real life directly onto the ball? Are the lifting wheel levers locked by a hook or the weight keeps them deployed?
you built that? you did a very nice job. hope my coop I am building looks as nice. (have chicks coming this summer) love the set up using a tractor. i was thinkig the same using mine for this chicken tractor I built (suscovic design with modifications)
How do you keep the wheel levers from popping back down? I just put the same system on my little coop (with lots of profanity and bit small amount of stomping) but not sure about how to keep the wheels in the up position. And are they just bolted to the coop or is there a axle type rod linked between the wheels?
Nice tractor. That stained glass adds a great touch to it . Awsome construction . (-: only thing id add is a handle made of steel by the hitch so i wouldnt haugh to bend down so far .(-:
This looks like an ingenious setup. But, we can’t see how you’ve constructed it where you can raise the back end with the wheels! It’s out of focus AND waaayyyy too far away to even see the details of it!

Come on Jason Born other people have done the same thing many years ago.

Thanks again.
Thank you for sharing such a nice coop/run. Great demo too! Blessings.
Your very welcome Martha, and thanks for the kind words.
It looks as though you can probably move that fairly easy without a tractor.
So do I, I think it is not that heavy to do so
You've got some interesting features there Joe. Ever think of doing an update? What is it like 4 years later and what have you learned?

Chickens hear the mower start; “Shit, girls, we’re moving again!”
the crunchy chrunch sound is absolutely maddening! nice build though
Hay Joe that's a mighty fine design you have there, I like it! Thanks for sharing!
Very nice job. I really liked your setup.
This is awesome!

Love this coop/tractor. Any chance you have PLANS available for how to build this?
Yes I want plans

Very nice design. Lovely chickens!

That's a really neat design.
Looks super nice!
That's a brilliant idea do you have building plans for this coop tractor?

super slickest chicken tractor ever!
Love your comment, thanks.
How many birds are foreseen in this tractor?
That's great!
that is a Cadillac of chicken tractors :)
Fantastic! Thank you for sharing!
good job
I am going to make one similar but will put a door on the front of the lot and probably use cattle panels instead of the plastic pipe.
Very nice. I liked the stained glass window.
How long and wide is the coop part?
I hope they lay golden eggs
Great unit!
We use aluminum in our #aluminumchickentractor from #naturalgramma RevHank and Laura Reid
Very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Any problems with predators?

I want to build one like this. Did you make or buy it?
Is the tracker frame made of 2x6 boards?

Very nice.
Do you have plans for this?
i think i herd some chirps in the video when you opened the door to the chicken house
Nice ,How many adult chickens can fit in there ?
A laying hen needs about 4 square ft. per bird. So, about 15 hens. But in this case the house takes up ?? square ft.? So subtract for that.
Pretty nice! Where did you get that stained glass window?
Thanks, I found the window on Ebay
This is wonderful
Nice
She's a Beauty.
How did u build it?
I love it !!
very nice
Its nice where did you buy it
All that for 20 feet ... congratulations .
Wow.
Really nice !!!
nice tractor, bad stinking mower.
Would you have measurements for the tractor
The whole run is 6'x10', the coop is 3'x6' with nest boxes on the back.
