As a LEO, you do not want a super bright weapon light. When you are doing nighttime building searches, the reflection of the light off the interior walls will mess up your vision.
Great name! I am also Josh. Love the videos brother. I am at close to 90 lights. I have the Acebeam W35 LEP LC DEL ZOOM and I just was sent the Lep mini cosmos by Maratac. Very cool and fun lights 😊
I think most additional illumination is needed within 15’. Among many others over the years, I currently carry a tiny Lumintop FWAA that utilizes 3, 4000k Nichia emitters.
These are not "non-lethal" though. The standard for self defence is against "Grievous Bodily Harm". Blinding someone, or even causing eye damage, is considered Grievous Bodily Harm. This isn't a problem in search and rescue because the intensity of the beam drops off with distance. Someone at 400 yards isn't going to suffer like someone at 4 yards.

i have a fenix ht30r, bought it for self defense, 600k candela to the eye = automatic turn around = can't hurt you if they can't see you

So basically...for a gun.....no good
