It certainly helps that Ben's a trained professional in his home harbor, but with the auto-pilot, remote control, and a slow/idle speed it's perfectly safe as long as you are comfortable and familiar with the waters you're navigating in and have plenty of open water. You can always engage the sky hook which will lock the boat in place in order to put out your lines and fenders.
