yup, that's the kind of video i looked for. thank you very much... as far as i'm done with the stuff learning right now, i'll let you know about my level of improvement. added to favorites!
As I have noiced, there are basicly two main patterns. Used a lot in ex The boxer, Don´t think twice etc..And if you know those, the rest is a beautiful walk in the park. Great lesson! Thanks!
Posted my own version as a video response. It's good that guys like you are helping others to learn to pick. You'll struggle to see my picking style, I'm afraid, with my fat fingers and the fact that I pick with fingers 2, 3 & 4 while my index finger just points at the ground (due to accident as a kid) hah! Anyway thanks
Thanks fogroopa, The one thing I would say is practice then practice and practice some more. It might take months to get your first fingerpicking tune down, especially Alternating bass style, but hopefully the next gets a bit easier.
This is alternating bass pattern, if you watch the thumb, it keeps a steady swing between the bass strings ie. on the C chord you pluck 5 string 4 string 6 string 4 string on G pluck 6 string 4 string 6 string 4 string, I will put up a slowed down version for you by Saturday night.
Gil, thanks for this and your one on the CHORUS for this song. However, your VERSE tutorial is very hard to follow, because it's not tab. It would be cool if you could do ONE MORE, and do the verse part as tab. jt
Thank you very much for these tutorials. I will use these to learn this beautiful song. Thanks again. Mik
This is so beautiful. I followed your tutorial, learned it, and now it's my favorite picking tune to play :)
