1:35 .. The Abandoned Boat on Bouvet Island, a Mystery No More - A party from the Soviet Antarctic Whaling Fleet vessel “Slava-9” landed by boat on Bouvet Island close to Cape Circumcision Nov. 27, 1958, after manhandling the boat into the lagoon where they reasoned it would be sheltered from high seas, they found they couldn’t leave because of worsened weather, when the storm finally subsided they were evacuated by Mi-1Mi helicopter from the Slava-9 piloted by Averyan Rzhevskiy on Nov. 29, abandoning the boat in situ. Compiled from a number of websites accessed on Google.
Imagine your ship is sinking, you hop to your lifeboat hoping you will get the nearest land to safety, instead you ended stranded in Bouvet Island which is only consist of rock and ice, i rather commit suicide. It's not like any castaway movie where protagonist ended on uninhabited tropical Island with plenty of food and resources to survive until the rescue comes.
***SAME*** !!! 😂😂😂 I try to solve worldle without looking at the map. The moment I saw the pic, I thought, ok, I don't recognize that. So I picked South Sudan just because , but it said 4,523 miles south. I already knew that meant it couldn't be on Africa and had to be an island. Just to confirm, I picked Eswatini next, but it was still 2,397 miles south west. Just to be sure I didn't miss anything, I next picked Antartica, but it was 1,444 miles north of that. At that point, I knew that whatever it was, I never heard of it. The damn island was so small, it took 5 minutes of scanning using Google Earth (at this point I was cheating), but the name still wouldn't show up when I hovered over it, it's so small. So I finally used Google Maps and for whatever reason, when I finally found it again and clicked on it, it showed the name right away.
@@dontbanmebrodontbanme5403 Glad to find others with my problem, I literally busted out an actual globe, counted the miles from my latest guess and drew a circle with that radius. THEN I basically guessed around that are with Google Maps to find something.
@@EvoBeDevo On the one hand, I was annoyed because it literally picked an island with absolutely no one living on it! On the other, I learned about the most remote place on earth, so that's cool!
Oh my God, i’ve found my people. I started with Macedonia, then moved to South Sudan, then Burundi, then Eswatini. When it still said it was lower, I was like “yeah I’ve definitely never heard of this place”, so I went to google earth and I found this place. and it’s so small it didn’t even show the name of the island on my screen. Just a speck of white. So I didn’t even consider it. So after a few minutes I went back to the game and did a couple more bullshit guesses. Then I got the answer, typed that into Google Earth and was shocked to realize it was the little speck. so I came to find out more about it. Very interesting. Really mean of worldle though.😂
Look at it on google earth. It's very clear. It's really hard to find, so just search for 54°25'39.1"S 3°20'52.4"E. Copy that whole string and put it in the search bar. The image is amazingly clear and detailed.
There will be a ham radio Dxpedition there in January 2023 A group of amateur radio operators wll be there for about three weeks making contact wirh amateur radio operators around the world
Well don't play wordle and haven't seen the Mr Ballen video about this but suppose I will look for it now.. Would be really cool if they planted “Christmas trees” on the island, if people crash and end up there they would at least have some wood and cover lol and wood can be used for everything ;) from fire to fishing poles, spears, etc..
@@naglismalisauskas1779 you can hunt fish with spears. Nets are better for hauling more than one at a time, but it's quicker for singles if you know how to use 'em.
You think it was hard to escape from Alcatraz? Try escaping from Bouvet Island! There isn't even a need for prison guards. How would you get off the island? They drop you off with a year's worth of food. A year later, they drop off more food! 😂😂😂
Someone like Pablo Escobar wouldn't have much issue getting out as long as his cronies knew he was there. Would be a few months, but it could definitely be arranged to get him out You'd need a guarded facility there to keep some of more powerful criminals like him from rescue
