If you are having trouble enabling windows defender then this video is for you. The windows defender problem is common when you have uninstalled a antivirus program or anti-malware program from the computer. Sometimes the disable Windows Defender registry key is not removed from the computer, which will now leave the anti-malware program disable.
Also windows defender services could be stopped or group policy setting is set to disable windows defender. I will show you all these in this video.

Sir, YOU ROCK!!! I had an issue with my Win10, WD, telling me that "your IT administrator has limited access..." and couldn't figure out how to regain control of WD. My problem, more than likely, came from a AV program I previously had, and didn't remove properly. The AV program, like you stated, may have changed settings in WD, to prevent it from doing what the AV program was designed to do; or at least, not interfere. All-in-all, after watching your video and following the steps in "regedit" and "grpedit", I was able to get things back to normal. Can't thank you enough. Video's like this is what makes the TH-cam community freaking awesome. Cheers.

I just went to Services-> Windows Defender-> Windows Defender Antivirus Service Double click and Start.
Then I went on to Restart the Windows Defender. And it instantly started working again.😌🤩🥳
Step 1: Press Windows key and R key together to open the Run window.
Step 2: Type msconfig.exe in the box and click OK or hit Enter to continue.
Step 3: In the popup window, you need to go to the General tab LOAD ALL ITEMS NOT A SELECTIVE MODE then restart.
it worked for a second :(

Thank you soooooo much. I went on line to try to fix my windows defender over and over so much time so many problems. I starting watching your video and watched it a few times took notes and did it just like you said and turned off my computer then back on and it fixed it. I cant thank you enough. Thank you!!! I've been trying to activate my antivirus for some time but now it's running. It didn't quite have the same issue as that but it was disabled, run now my system is restarted and no issues so far THANK YOU!

Mine is saying "Microsoft Defender Antivirus is snoozed." I also can't move anything it's super laggy, i checked the storage it was fine but my desktop is laggy. Can anyone tell me what happened.

@@evilheart8417 i formatted my pc then update it to a new 2019 windows service (my previous one is 2016 and i never update it), it's not too hard tho hahaha, but you need to move your data (i moved to my another local disk besides local disk C) then it took a long time to download a new windows. Hope my technique can be useful to you.
this guys a beauty! Turned it off for a "call of duty cold war Mod Menu" but ending up almost getting malware. Long vid but stick with it.

i dont have windows defender as a folder so what do i do my virus protection is fully locked off
I deep cleaned my pc with malwarebytes, Emsisoft and CCleaner. After cleaning my WD wouldnt turn on.
Your tutorial helped me...it already started working by just going into services, double tap Windows defender Antivirus and start it.....

Thank you very much. I've been through a few tutorial videos and it doesn't solve my problem. After all that I decided to uninstall windows defender if possible then re-installing it again. So I searched for yet another tutorial video and it happens this video is on the list! After following all the procedures my windows defender is now back working just fine.
Theres anything about windows defender on my services section, what should i do?:(
Update: I disabled Avast and then performed a quick test via Windows defender, after that it would allow me to turn it on permanently and everything worked just fine
what if i dont have any other antivirus softwares and i cant see windows defender how to fix?
@@Tomijones Well, i'm not sure where are u looking at for it. Go to settings, security, windows defender, and then try to do a quick exam on your pc, after that, try to go the section called "antivirus settings and pretection against threats" (I'm not sure if it's called like that, my main language is spanish and i'm just trying to translate it). Then try to toggle the option called "Real time protection". Then it should keep the windows defender active always. The windows defender section should be directly in settings, you can also search for it on the taskbar

I downloaded Malware bytes...as I like that anti malware program, let`s say ...I run lots of different versions of programs on my computer from various sources where if you hit a dodgy one, it installs adware n malware instead of the program you intended to download ( my local pc guy, just shakes his head at me, lol.
However this time the malware bytes turned off windows defender n was was messing with my pc. so I deleted it n it snoozed windows defender n I couldn`t start it again....so I do what I always do if I get stuck n turn to you n you sorted me out with this video n I couldn`t ind regedit in my windows 10 start, search bar n you explained that one as well, my take on that, if I have it right, is windows pro n up as regedit n standard windows 10 home has services.msc...so If I have got it right, as I only have windows 10 home edition, I won`t find regedit n will only find services.msc?

I don't even have that DisableAntispyware thing in that section. I did find another Windows Defender folder, there it did and an abundance of other stuff, but the value is already 0.

I have another folder under policy which is REAL TIME PROTECTION....it has 3 of those which had 1....what if I delete all those 3 files?

My services is grayed out, and nothing in my registry i don't know whats going on in my case. And i dont have the windows defender antivirus in my group policy either.

I don't understand what happened to mine, it just disappeared. You can't see it in the taskbar or anywhere else that it's disabled. Windows defender is just not anywhere...
