That photo of kids sitting on the wall at @1:21 at Irlam Road Estate. They would have the HSE people would be around today to prosecute the parents for child endangerment.

I remember going to this school CHRIST CHURCH school on Park St not for long as i had to move to another area in Liverpool But i do remember certain things of it & it still stands today but, not as a school. I think!!!! It's a Y.M C.A maybe!!! i am not sure So, please don't quote me on it .

I remember the Steand being referred to as the new Strand. Why was this please, was there a previous Strand and if so why has thevNew been dropped ?

I have no idea why they named it Bootle new strand, but it was built over part of the old "strand road" which still runs behind and Infront of the shopping center. And they also renamed the railway station when it opened in the 1968 to Bootle New Strand (Originally it was named Marsh Lane & Strand Road, until 1968 when the nearby New Strand Shopping Centre was built).,..and they probably dropped the NEW as its not new anymore as it's 54 years old 😊👍
