TGIW! Watching a new NES Friend video is the best way to get to the middle of the week. I remember this was a game that nobody picked from the rental store, included myself, but I liked the cartoon. It doesnt look that bad, I will give it a try and make some ketchup out of it. Thanks for another great video Trav!
"The game uses a version of the Cartoon's theme song which, warning, may get stuck in your head if you give it a listen" Joke's on you, the song got stuck in my head as soon as I saw the title of your video 😂
I very vaguely remember seeing the cartoon when I was really young. I didn't even know it was based on a movie until years later. "Killer Tomatoes" just fit in so well in the era if Ninja Turtles, Street Sharks and Swat Cats xD
I loved the cartoon and movies as a kid. I think this franchise has great potential to make a good game. Imagine being the parachute guy just hacking and slashing through killer tomatoes all day.
I don't think I ever really watched the cartoon, but I definitely had a soft spot for the classic film. It's just so campy and silly, what's not to love? I love to just kick back, get a pizza delivered by a 10 year old boy, and watch the film.
I always thought it was weird that the eye candy in this children's show was a tomato who could shapeshift and just wanted to be human. I saw one of the movies, it was weird. I love the part where all the meter maids swarm the car! My 1st example of kids cartoon based off adult movie
I never really gave this one a chance. It just didn't seem very interesting and I can see I wasn't too far off. That street light effect is really creative with how the character sprite turns darker when in the shadows. This was developed by Imagineering so the real question is, did Garry Kitchen have any involvement with this?
I'm just here to rush to the comments section before watching the video (it's paused up there at 18 seconds) to post something that is probably in the video itself. Did you know that the cartoon series was ACTSHUALLY based on the second movie despite the name?
True story. The Summer of '90 I was 7 and in the store store I was given the choice to either get this game or a bicycle for the Summer. My dumb ass chose this game. Worst decision ever. I should have chose the bike. On a plus side I really dug the movie and animated series.

At 10 years old you can either be a pizza delivery boy, or you can take a region-wide trip raising your own killer monsters to fight the mafia.
I love the scene in the movie when all the military officials are crammed into that tiny room

Can comfirm, just seeing the thumbnail got the theme song stuck in my head

You can watch this cartoon 1 time and remember the theme song for the rest of your life.
i loved this cartoon. That theme was so catchy
Been in my head for weeks
I kind of like that effect with the street lamps. Going in and out of the dark..
I usually skip outros, but not yours. The song is so good that I cant simply close the video.

I like me some short NES games. I will have to keep my eye out to grab this one sooner than later
This was a TV show I usually skipped but I do remember the theme song lol
1:23 my dad showed me that poster made and it made me cry when I was like 5 years old
Looks fun would be cool to have a remake of this game.
I just had a tomato this morning and now I'm going to be sick.
😂😂🤢🤮
🍅
The sound the tomatoes make in the movie is arguably as relentless as the song in the game, though not as catchy.

It's so weird that this even exists lol

Phew! it wasn't mentioned. I sure hope my 15 seconds of Wikipedia sleuthing didn't lie to me! Awesome vid again, thanks Trav!

Ah Timothy, sad story. I hope you eventually got a bike!
