    Thank you so much for this comparison video!I wish I had found this video while I was comparison-shopping... I based my decision on written reviews and another consumer comparison on the web. have owned my Cosori 6 qt for a little over two weeks and it has become my favourite kitchen appliance. I am hooked! My second recipe I made was a conventional recipe I converted to a pressure cooker version - and I can't believe I used to be intimidated by pressure cooking for so long. I just found your channel today and can't wait to see more. Awesome presentation!!!

    I have had both, first the Cosori which I had to return twice for not heating up, in both cases in under 1 week of use. Decided to switch to the Instantpot to avoid another return and have not had an issue since. Not saying this will be everyone's experience, but based on Amazon reviews I am definitely not the only one

      Oh no!!! That’s not a great impression of it at all is it?! :( total bummer!! I completely believe you but truly this is the first I have heard of that! Definitely something to watch for and get returned/exchanged if that happens!

      Robert...no offense; but, I'm glad you took the bad one out of circulation. I've been using mine a minimum of 4 days per week for the last 3 months & (knock on wood) I've not had a similar experience to yours. The ONLY complaint I have with the Cosori is that it's slow to reach pressure but I've even learned a workaround for that.

      I have found that if you make small meals with little moisture it takes awhile to pressurize resulting in scorching on the bottom with the Cosori. Anything bigger sealed quickly.

    Just got mine today! Can't wait to try it out. Am also looking through my cabinets to see what I can sell or donate. Example...my electric fryer, my rice cooker, my steamer, some glass casserole dishes, some sauce-type pans. I was eyeing my stovetop, but had second thoughts for now. Great video...thanks!

    Thank you for the review. I have heard many good things about the Instant Pot, but then I saw the Cosori and I was wondering which was a better value. Your comparison did a great job.

    This was a really well done review. Thanks for doing it. The one thing I really like on the instant pot that seems to be missing on the cosori is the slot that holds the lid. I like this feature a lot, as it's a pain to find a place for the cover when it's hot.

    • @KimberlyFlanagan
      @KimberlyFlanagan  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      ok so now that you say that...... I feel ridiculous because I have had the instant pot for a year and I didn't even know it had that either! 🙈

      @marissashelley2362 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine came with the lid attached It can be slid off the track to remove for cleaning. Since it was a gift, I don't know that this is normal. I went to look at mine & I noticed on the back side just over the collection cup is a long trough-like indent & I removed my lid & the side with the little silver button rests perfectly in the trough to keep the lid sitting sideways. I just hold the lid by the handle on the top, & tilt the lid sideways to rest the section of the lid that's made to fit in the indented section. That way you lid is always available when you need it!!!

    I can use my standard pressure cooker for about 8 minutes and get a whole bag of potatoes done. I let it sit for 10 minutes until I release pressure and still 18 minutes and 5 lbs of pots are done. For just a couple of potatoes, it's 5 minutes and 10 minutes to de-pressure.

    I purchased the Cosori about a month or more ago and just love it, I do find the trivet a little high and I removed the middle handle to provide more room. Another plus to the Cosori was a two year warranty, a promo deal at the time.

    I've had the Cosori pt for a couple months now and just love it. It makes the best pot roast, chili, BBQ wings etc. I use it also to make my hubby's yogurt every week. I have noticed that when making yogurt as long as I don't use raw milk there is no need to worry about getting the temp up to 180 so when it gets the milk to 165 it still works great.

      Give it a go Karen!! I remember when I got mine last year I was so scared of it! hahaha It's daunting... it really is! And I remember the very first time I "released the pressure" from it.... sweet lord.... I almost peed my pants! hahaha but now it really is like second nature to use it! Sometimes I still google and see what other people use for measurements and cook times but I really haven't had any real disasters! Are you a fan of Mustard? I have a mustard potato salad recipe that's made entirely in the pot and it's AMAZING (you just have to like mustard haha) I'll put the video here if you want to see a step by step of that!! You can do it! ;))) th-cam.com/video/oYQK_39TuNo/w-d-xo.html

      My Cosori was a gift. It sat in the box for a month when my friend suggested that I practice using it with nothing but water in it. Once I saw how easy it was to use, I did a few simple things like making Hard Boiled Eggs & a few other meal items. From there I began experimenting. On day 5 I cooked a roast with potatoes & carrots that was delicious!!! Now, when trying something new, I come to youtube to get ideas on what I need to do & then I mix that with my own experiences while experimenting. I'm excited to be cooking again & cleanup is soooo much easier!!! So, I suggest you take the bull by the horns, take yours out of the box, put 3 cups of water in it, close & lock the lid & then experiment with those buttons. Once you see how they work, you can hit the cancel button to stop what you're doing & go on to the next thing you want to try. In time, you will feel comfortable enough to branch out & actually cook something. That's where the excitement begins!!!

    I was considering the Cosori until I saw that the 8qt version has the lid attached to the unit. You have to unscrew something everytime and the arm stays attached. I'd prefer the same lid as the 6qt. Otherwise I'd buy it over the IP.

    Thanks for the comparison it was exactly what I was looking for. After all my research I came down to the two and couldn't decide if I should go with the Cosori or not. There are not a lot of reviews on it yet. I agree with you no the buttons for the Cosori make sense... I noticed you used them but always set the time on the Instant Pot. The discount you offered was great!!! Thank you!!!

    Has anybody seen a comparison between the Insta pot and the living well pressure cooker from Montel?

  • @humbug5784
    @humbug5784 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have used stovetop pressure cookers for 50 years, and was surfing around to see what an electric one has to offer. This offers a nice comparison. Some comments, however. Pressure cookers WILL BLOW UP if you work at it. The first thing I noticed here was the unclean state of the Instant Pot lid. The gasket should be removed and washed after each use. The lid appears to have food particles on it, which means the pressure valve may also have food particles blocking it. YIKES! Pressure cookers take much longer to cook than advertised, due to the need to reach to pressure in the first place. It would be nice to have a mention of the time required for each of these to reach pressure, as that will factor into the cooking times. Also a discussion of the pressure relief mechanics of each...are they similar; how "safe" (risk of steam burn) is each, etc.

  • @kcaegis45
    @kcaegis45 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I had both units also. I can truly say the instant pot cooks much better than the cosori. The biggest issue I had with the cosori is when you want to cook again after you just finished using it or if the food wasnt cooked enough and you had to set it again to cook. You have to go through a ritual to reset the pot to actually pressurize again otherwise it thinks it reached pressure and starts but it didn't actually reach pressure . If I don't go through several steps, the food would not be cooked even through the unit say it's cooking under pressure. I contacted cosori and they were very helpful. They even sent me a new one but it worked the same. For it to work properly, I had to shut off the unit then unplug it and wait about 10 minutes for the unit to reset itself and then plug it back in and then program the unit otherwise it would not come to pressure but it thinks it does and starts cooking but is not cooking under pressure. This happened to me a few times until I realized what I needed to do to reset the unit. I wasted many hours trying to cook corned beef and beef stew. Instead of 1 and 1/2 hours it took me 4 to 5 hours to cook the corned beef. I never had that issue with the instant pot. Overall, the cosori cost less and you get a tempered glass lid and gasket which you don't get with the instant pot but I prefer the instant pot over the cosori because of the peace of mind knowing the instant pot will cook. I still get apprehension that the cosori will not cook even if I go the the ritual of resetting it but when it does cook it cooks just like the instant pot and it has more features than the instant pot.

      What is the name of your instant pot?

  • @sylvia4425
    @sylvia4425 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    So you pretty much need to keep the manual for the Instant Pot model in order to enter the correct cooking times of all foods. Whereas the Cosori already has pre-set buttons with cooking times....thus eliminating the tedious task of looking up cook times, right?

    • @KimberlyFlanagan
      @KimberlyFlanagan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sylvia! Luckily they both have preset buttons which is nice but definitely the Cosori has a bit more! Honestly though I wouldn’t let it be my true deciding factor as many recipes you will come upon will tell you to set it manually anyway! :) but still! LOVE the Cosori!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    Great comparison and recipes on your channel! Subscribed! 👍 It’s wonderful seeing you enjoy and use your Instant Pot/Pressure Cookers! I’ve never understood people’s fear of them, as long as one follows instructions they’re perfectly safe! Thought I’d share my pressure cooker thoughts. Regardless of preference between stovetop and electric, everyone needs one in their cookware arsenal! I’ve an electric pressure cooker, same as an Instant Pot. I’ve several sizes of old fashioned stovetop pressure cookers including the large canning pressure cooker. I prefer the old fashion stovetop pressure cooker. The pressure is higher than electric versions, hence shorter cook time. My experience and use of pressure cookers spans over 50 plus years, never once have I had one explode! If it’s a stovetop version manual timing, shorter cook time, and making sure you are hearing that steady rock while cooking are the only significant differences between electric and stovetop pressure cookers. Super quick pressure release of stovetop versions is accomplished by putting the cooker under the facet running cold water over it or manually rocking the gauge side to side until steam is out. Actually I prefer my stovetop cookers, multiple sizes and cheaper, but an electric version is, nice to have. My research has found electric versions average 12# PSI of pressure and stovetop versions reach 15 to 20# PSI. My canning version can be adjusted using stove heat up to 30# PSI.

      Thank you so so much for sharing this!!!! I love that we are all able to share our experience with pressure cookers and make it a lot less scary for people! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    • @marissashelley2362
      @marissashelley2362 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      My Momma raised me to fear the old stove top pressure cooker because they were easy to explode. The new electric pressure cookers have taken the danger out of using them. I now realize that the reason the old stove top cookers exploded was because the cook didn't understand how to use them properly. The current version makes it almost impossible to create conditions where an explosion can occur. With all the safety features on the newer models, they have made them idiot proof which this idiot has been able to learn for herself!!! I now don't know what I'd do without my Cosori!!!

    • @HandmadeByLinanne
      @HandmadeByLinanne 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marissa Shelley Hi Shelley true, user error caused explosions! Here are a few things I should have added to my post to help defend cheaper than electronic stovetop models. The old stovetop pressure cookers do not explode unless forced open before the pressure is fully released. It takes a lot of force to open one when this is the case, so let it sit until the top opens easily. The other reason for an explosive stovetop pressure cooker is ignoring a gauge that has stopped its gently rocking motion. My entire family uses pressure cookers and not once in all these years has one exploded. Most importantly the newer stovetop pressure cookers have a black rubber safety valve that prevent explosions. If the pressure reaches a pressure that’s too high the safety valve pops out and safely releases the pressure. They’re just as safe as highly priced electronic versions, as long as one follows safety instructions provided by the manufacturer. I doubt manufacturers of stovetop models would be in business if they exploded easily. I do like my electric model, but turn to my stovetop models because of their size, my large pressure canner for example or my 4 quart model for small serving needs.

      @marissashelley2362 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Linda..I don't think I explained very clearly what my point was. As an adult I now understand that I have an irrational fear of pressure cookers simply because my Mom taught me to fear them even before she taught me how to cook. I believe that most of the fear that people currently have comes from the old wives tales that did occur when the unit was misused. As with most things, change comes through conversation & I believe that people are losing their fear of pressure cookers as we discuss daily how safe the newer ones are.
      You feel safe with the stove top version & I feel safer with the electric version. I personally don't think that either of us are wrong...we just learned from 2 different life experiences & we both end up with great results!!!

    • @HandmadeByLinanne
      @HandmadeByLinanne 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Marissa Shelley My reply wasn’t very clear😢, so sorry, because I totally understood and was agreeing with you! I love my electric pressure cooker too! I was explaining where Moms fears came from. They were capable of exploding, so Mom wasn’t entirely wrong. I’m so excited to see you and so many others discovering how safely they deliver a speedy and nutritional meal compared to takeout! They’re a wonderful addition to our kitchen, regardless of stovetop or electric preference. Thanks so much for your feedback! 👍

    All electric pressures cookers work the same. As long as you know how long it takes things to cook you can cook with any of them. I don't use the preset buttons because they never completely work because the food is never the same. It just takes practice in learning how long certain foods take to cook.

    I always do my baked potatoes in the microwave, but now you have piqued my curiosity. Is there a reason you prefer the pressure cooker?

    • @KimberlyFlanagan
      @KimberlyFlanagan  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      So to be honest I love that you can do it so quickly in the microwave but i think we can all agree although it works they just don't taste as good! :( so I kind of recently started using the pressure cooker for this task and I seriously love it! It really comes out like a true "baked" potato in consistency and is just so simple to do! And actually something I want to test with it is once it's done, put it in the air fryer just for a little bit to see if the skin will be a bit crisp! Still gotta test that! But what I like about using the pressure cooker for it is it doesn't heat up the whole kitchen like having the oven does on for hour ya know?! It still does take about 30 minutes or so just to be sure it's cooked all the way through (especially the larger ones) but it's so simple! :)))

    • @BettyHorn
      @BettyHorn 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kimberly Flanagan have you tried sweet potatoes in the pressure cooker? How long do you think that would take? If you tried it, how did it turn out?

    • @marissashelley2362
      @marissashelley2362 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Betty, my sweet potatoes take about 30 min on high pressure with a quick release. I must admit that I buy HUGE SPs & they would prob take 90 min in the oven. What I love best about cooking SP in the Cosori is that the skins just fall right off so it's none of the problem separating the skins like when cooked in the oven. I remove the skins with my tongs so NO more burnt fingertips!!! :)

      Amanda, potatoes cooked in the Cosori taste soooo much better than nuked potatoes, I can't even begin to tell you how great they are. When in a huge hurry, I cut mine in half or quarters & reduce the cook time accordingly. Quartered potatoes will cook in 10 minutes with a quick release & still taste as good as cooking the potato whole!!!

    I own a couple of Instant Pots for a few years now. I only use the manual button (except for yogurt), so I think the extra buttons are just frills. I also batch cook, so the taller steamer rack would not allow enough room for a 5 lb bag of potatoes. I like that the cosori includes the extra accessories for the same price. Although, personally for the same price, I would choose the established brand, but would consider the new brand if it was quite a bit less expensive.

    Hi Kimberly. Great review. I’m a Dungeness crab 🦀 lover & like the idea of the steamer rack on the Corsori being a bit higher as it allows for more liquids to be added. I currently use one of the collapsible steaming gadgets that sit in a pot. Steaming needs to be constantly monitored so as not to end up with burnt crab stuff in the bottom of the pot.

    So you did the Corsori for 25 min on medium pressure( preset) but the Instant pot for 25 min on High pressure. So it really wasn't potatoes to potatoes comparison. I would think 25 min on high pressure is way too long in the Instant Pot

      @KimberlyFlanagan  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kathi Bucklin woo woo!!! Did you just press the steam potatoes button!? You should be good to go!!! ;) but I totally understand!!! And with that you should be good to just let it sit for a while after it’s done before opening it so you won’t technically have to release the pressure but when you do a Recipe where you have to release it first .... you will pee your pants! 😂😂😂 hahaha not really but I do remember the first few times I released the pressure it scared me a lot!! It’s loud and feels wrong! Just use a towel in your hand the first few times til you get a feel for where the steam exactly comes out... don’t want to burn yourself!! Now it’s not so bad and the kiddo thinks it’s just a steam engine train in the kitchen 😂👍🏻

    Is the steaming fluid always put into the metal cooking bowl, or does it sometimes go into the area below the cooking bowl? Thank you. : )

    • @KimberlyFlanagan
      @KimberlyFlanagan  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      ya know, for the most part it really just releases and I suppose does go back into the cooking pot but sometimes there is a little underneath the unit, i think it depends how much liquid you had in it and how quickly you release the pressure or just letting it naturally release : )

      I don't eat yogurt so I've not used it but it does have a preset button. On the bottom set of presets, it's on the 3rd row down, ( or 2nd row up from the bottom) 2nd button in. It's just below the Brown Rice & the just above the Saute/Brown preset buttons. The user manual tells you how to use it to make yogurt.

      I have had a couple of rice cookers but not a fan. My favorite way to cook rice is in a pan with a lid. 20 minutes cooking time and 10 minutes resting time and perfect white rice every time. I don't understand people who say that cooking rice is hard for them.

      Luisa, Cosori also makes a 2 qt version. It's a tiny little thing. When I need to cook less, I do a Pot-in-Pot cooking & use a smaller Pyrex bowl inside the 6 qt cooker. Then when cooking for friends, I have the extra room to cook more!!! Pyrex has a 3 piece set that are 2 cups, 4 cups & 7 cups that all will fit inside the 6 qt cooker & nest together when stored. That way you can cook smaller portions with even easier cleanup. Since I've learned how to cook in mine, it has stayed on my counter as I don't have time to get it in the cupboard before I'm ready to use it again!!! Many RV fans use a 6 qr PC because it's so convenient in small places!!!

    Great review! I was strongly considering an instant pot and now I'm thinking about the 8 quart cosori (it has a hinge that the lid rests on! Plus I do batch cooking).

    Thanks for the review. I felt that your review was kind of instantly bias toward the Cosori when you said in the beginning, "... I have a discount link for the Cosori..". It appears that at the end of your review, once you noticed that they both pretty much do the same thing, you were a bit reaching for an edge for the Cosori to have by mentioning that "oh well I do have to say that the Instant Pot top has a metal mirrored look finish and I burned myself, and the other one doesn't." Yeah, that was a bit reaching.

    • @KimberlyFlanagan
      @KimberlyFlanagan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahh I’m sorry you took it that way Michael, I truly think they are both comparable to each other and at the time of filming this I did have that special link for a discount on the Cosori so because they were comparable in my opinion I just thought the Cosori was a better buy. But I understand, I think any time someone has a link to share it can come off that way, no hard feelings ;)

    • @michaelcabusi2155
      @michaelcabusi2155 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kimberly. Thank you for the reply. I hope that I didn't sound to harsh in my original comment. What I did get out of the review was that both products were pretty much the same. And if that were the case, heck yeah I would buy the Cosori if I got a discount :) However, the promo has ended so I'm stuck trying to figure out which one has more of an edge.
      After owning a beautiful Japanese made, Panasonic rice cooker for the past 12 years (and still going), one of the things I really find very convenient is that it has a self-winding cord; similar to ones you would find on floor vacuums. Does the Cosori have any features which make it a better choice over the Instant Pot? A detachable cord is also a big plus too when it comes to storage.

    • @KimberlyFlanagan
      @KimberlyFlanagan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No worries! 💕
      Soooo I’m totally not home right now to double check for ya but I actually completely understand that is such a nice feature!! I had a coffee pot that had a self winding cord and loved that! Haha so I do get it!! Off the top of my head I just can’t remember if it detaches from the actual unit! The instant pot does! But ya know, I will say I’ve had the cord come loose a few times on the instant pot now that you say that! Not a big deal but kind of annoying when I didn’t realize it was the issue! Hahaha SO! I did see on my link I have there it’s on sale again for $79!!! So it’s actually even a better deal than before! 👍🏻

    • @michaelcabusi2155
      @michaelcabusi2155 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh wait. The sale price was $79? LoL. Before I got a chance to read your last message, I went ahead and picked up the Cosori on Amazon. Regardless of the cord, I think that an extra gasket and a glass lid definitely put the Cosori over the top because with the Instant Pot, you have to spend more money to get the glass lid and more money again to buy a 2nd gasket. More over, I think that the Cosori has a better tray for steaming. From experience, if the tray sits low than there is more chances for the bottom of the food to get splattered by boiling water bubbles. This causes the bottom of dumplings and vegetables to get super mushy. I do like that the Cosori steaming tray sits higher above the water level.

    • @KimberlyFlanagan
      @KimberlyFlanagan  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Awesome!! I think you will love it and those are all good points! Oh!! They also have a Facebook group page for users who have the Cosori to share meal ideas or any issues too! Usually it’s not a real issue but more of not knowing how to work something! Haha it happens! ;) but yea! The regular price is $99 I believe!

    Excellent review! I am going through Instant Pot reliability hell right now (I have FOUR of them and only one functions properly) and am looking into alternatives. As a vegan for 40 years, you cooked two of the main items that I cook in a pressure every week. Nice! Unfortunately, the Cosori has a worse reliability history and customer support record on Amazon than Instant Pot. Have you tried Mealthy? They seem to have the lowest rate of defective units and the best customer support.

    • @marissashelley2362
      @marissashelley2362 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No matter what I'm cooking in mine, it seems to take 15 min to reach pressure. As a workaround to that, when I'm prepping my foods, I add the liquids & turn on the pot. By the time I've chopped everything, the liquids are good & hot. I add everything to the pot & seal. That will help to cut down on the actual time to reach pressure once the lid is closed. I work from home & I love the convenience of throwing everything into one pot, turn it on, go do some work, & my meal is ready to eat with cleanup a breeze!!! Time to reach pressure can also depend on how cold your ingredients are. The only time mine ever took 20 min to reach pressure was when I was cooking chopped steak patties from their fresh from the freezer frozen state. Once I've started the cooking process, I add the additional pressure 15 min cooking time in my head to know when my meal will be ready. Once I start cooking I go work for approx 20 min & then go check the remaining cook time showing on the cooker to know when to check again. I have noticed that although the pressure reaching time is a bit slow that the cooking time doesn't always take the full time I've anticipated. So, I think you make up for the additional time on the front end by it being faster on the back end. Any other electric pressure cooker that I've had always took 10-15 min to reach pressure; so I don't find the Cosori to be any less efficient as any of the others I've used. I had my concerns when I first started using my Cosori; however, after using it for over a month, I purely love it & the conveniences it offers!!! Instead of looking for the negatives, look at the positives it provides. After you grow comfortable using it, you will discover a lot of little hidden gems so you can customize it to your preferences.

      Oh I totally know what you mean I really do!!! I think the pro though even when things can still take a while is you basically "set it and forget it" if you will! You don't have to watch it, you don't have to mix it in between and all that.... now I get for a potato you wouldn't have to do that anyway! :) But I think that's really the pro overall to pressure cookers. I think people who have kids and a super hectic schedule really like that about them too! but don't get me wrong! I know what you mean!! Microwaves have spoiled many of us!!! :))))

      I felt the same...that is until I cooked my first potato in my Cosori. The taste was well worth the wait!!! Plus you have several different options to reduce the cook time. You can cook the potato in with your meat or other veggies at the same time without increasing the cook time. You can cut the potato in half or quarters & reduce the cook time accordingly without losing any flavor. I threw in a piece of frozen chopped steak along with my potato & 30 min later I had a delicious steak & potato dinner. You can cook a half dozen potatoes in about the same cooking time as one. You don't have to do a 15 min natural release. I cook my whole potato in stead for 30 minutes & then do a quick release (manual release) in place of waiting on the 15 min natural release. The options are endless!!!

      Pressure cooking changes the structure of the potato to a healthier food. See HIPcooking.

      Microwaving is probably the worst way to cook a potato. It's fast but is not evenly cooked and tends to dry out a russet potato.

    I would prefer the Instant Pot, one of the reasons is because the handle fits the lid handle and works as a holder. And a whole potatoe does not take 15 minutes in the Instant Pot.

      That's right nothing special over most other electric pressure cookers. Only the marketing is better.

    I disagree with your choice and here's why: Each pressure cooker is different and you MUST FOLLOW THE REQUIREMENTS IN EACH MANUAL (All "PC's" are different) AND you cannot get the same results if done the same way (water, time, etc.). The Instant Pot potato proves that. It needs Less time. 25 minutes to cook a potato? NEVER have I come across that length of time to cook a potato. Even in my less expensive PC's the is way too much time. Anyway, bottom line is, they all work a little differently and if you come upon a good deal, buy it. Important is the seal (no good seal, no good pressure). I AM A Seasoned PC user and I say if you are a beginner then an Electric PC is great. If you Become More Advanced (not much), then a Stove Top is better. Example: Stove Top is 15 psi versus 11 psi for Electric. Stove Top is HIGH heat to bring to pressure (5 min) Then LOW to cook. Release is the same in all PC's. Whatever you choose, good for you. This video is fine and I wanted to point out a few things about PC's. THE MORE KNOWLEDGE YOU HAVE (about anything) THE BETTER YOUR DICISION. Good Luck and Happy Pressure Cooking! :)

      I haven't tried the Cosori, but it looks good. I already have an Instant Pot and love it, but I'm sure I'd like the Cosori too, and the extras included are nice. There is one selling point not mentioned, and that's the fact that the Instant Pot Facebook group has 1,300,000 members, for help and recipes. There are already thousands of recipes exclusively for the IP. I'm sure the Cosori will catch up to that eventually.

      Ohhh gotcha! Since this was new to me I definitely can’t really speak yet to the longevity of it but I am definitely happy with it! I’m letting my neighbor use it just because I had the instant pot and wanted it to get more use and she’s loving it too! 👍🏻

      IP is a Canadian company. The IP itself, however, is actually made in China to the Canadian companies specifications. If it was American made it would cost $900 due to the workers' pay scale. Although I prefer buying American made products, the reality is that...IF it's affordable, it's made in China!!!

    what does the hot pot setting do? meaning, what happens when you hit that button. i have a different pressure cooker and im curious if i could replicate the hot pot feature somehow since i've never had real hot pot before, only the ramen version.
