Aww damn, I've been trying to tint my PET sheet for a week now. I think I will finally need to invest into this iDye Poly... I was trying to use regular fabric dye.
Shoot I should have watched your tutorial before trying this myself. I didn't do a few things you mentioned and I got the black spots on my visor UnU maybe I'll buy another and try again...
A Theory I had just come up with apon your comment (meaning I didn't do research) is that by dyeing one part of a Visor with one color and masking everything off, you will have one section that is tinted. Rinse and repeat (dont forget to mask or else color and opacity overlay will ruin the bike visor) and there you have it, multi color visor. But hey, that's just a Theory, A Project Theory! EDIT: Oh god I'm 4 years late. Well, hope you had good luck on whatever you were doing.
@@YeetgamingYeet its okay lol, I don’t even need it because the character im talking about isnt a protogen anymore (and hasn’t been for years) because i didn’t like the constriction of the species. I don’t even know why i was asking in the first place lol, i was like 13 and didn’t have the time, money or skill to do anything like it.
@Enietty Wow You responded even after four years! bravo. Well I guess at least you still don’t need help 4 years later! (thank god) You had some confidence trying to be a Protogen at 13. I’d never have that sort of confidence man. (If I was a furry, I swear I’m not bro) I hope whatever you’re doing now is working out and making you happy.
There's no reason it shouldnt work on the PETG before forming, the only concern would be the tint becoming lighter and uneven as the plastic is stretched over the form.
@@atherofthevoid ehh it really depends. The mold doesn't have to be all that complicated so you could make that yourself pretty easily. As for the former, you could buy one, but you could also build one. It wouldn't be the best obviously, but it can be pretty alright. There are quite a few tutorials on how to build them
What makers are easy to gain contact with and are able to make a full body protogen suit as of I wish not to pester multiple makers on this topic, if you do know please comment below with a link.
i would recommend finding a small suit maker for the job, as kaiborg studios is ridiculously expensive, and has been known to produce low quality or fragile pieces.
Why would you shine electronics through tinted PETG. If you need to stay unrecognizable, lights shining will make you stand out more! your welcome for the espionage tips :)
@@PAdragons I think you would need to order intensifier separately, although a reputable company may sell the product alongside PETG. Depending on what the manufacturer generally sells the plastic for, it may be sold alongside dyes. I’m sure a cosplay company would sell intensifier.
That's a protogen visor I see ÒwÓ

Thank you! I've been struggling to perfect my viser.

Would the process be much different using a liquid dye?
Dunno 😊
@G0re_k1ttyx answering so if anyone had a general answer I’d get notified plus it was 4 years ago damn
I have a question- how do you make a multi coloured visor
Good luck with that.
You don’t 🤷♀️

any idea if it also works to dye sheets of petg before vacuum forming?

Are there alternatives to the jet propane burner? Especially because it's gonna be 1 time use?
a fire with lots of gasoline
but im gonna just use window tint its way cheaper it lasts like 2 years and then it start peeling a bit but is super cheap

@@SealMedia. hm, guess I can try that too

Anyone know how to make the actual visor peice?
it's made by vacuum forming a piece of petg. you need a mold and a vacuum former for that
Both of which, are pretty expensive.

im really planning to buy protogen head base, visor, and inner visor, is it really that bad with quality?

I was wondering, does the intensifier come with it, if not do you NEED it?
I’m trying to keep on a budget
