Troop 88. This experience was one of the best experiences ever. LOVED to see mike Rowe as well! Although walking to the shooting range from sub camp A was one hell of a walk. But once you got their it was the most amazing thing ever. The shooting ranges were amazing. Overall AMAZING experience!
I am sure, as sure as I am sitting here, that the chief of the “Dirt Patrol” is so proud of you and the work you are doing in his honor. I, for one, am extremely proud whenever I hear you talk about the humble beginnings of your idea for “Dirty Jobs” which led you to the most important and monumental job of your life -thank you for doing what you do. Mike how true is everything you said I am from the late 60's my senior year was the same with guidance councilors an teachers you had 2 choices go to college or the service my dad having a doctorate degree college was everything, well went into the service an learned a trade came out used what I learned to make a living. Yes, that's exactly it, Mr. Rowe: taking a lot for granted. I live in the Buffalo, NY area, and by-and-large, as you can imagine, the water in my house comes from Lake Erie. I traveled to Colorado Springs for professional training for a week, and happened to ask a couple of the hotel staff, where does your water come from? They really didn't know. And water is a really basic human need.

Actually a brilliant message. If anyone thinks the trades are only for those who can’t afford or handle college they are wrong. I’ve know skilled craftsmen of trades that are leaders of innovation and achievements. America doesn’t give enough credit to those with dirty hands, a clever mind, and an outstanding work ethic. This combination of character strengths have proven monumental achievement in our world, and they are the salt of the earth.
