Max, I’m proof to your theory A guitars looks is a catalyst to playing. I had a Epiphone LP studio 20 years ago for my 1st electric. 12 months past as I picked it up once in A while trying to learn. I decided to “Browse” the guitar store and a Red Quilted Ibanez changed everything. A sale sent me home with It at $199. I learned more in 12 Weeks than I did in 12 months with the black LP. Those red horns and quilted top along with EMG doubles wrapped in black contrasting the Shark tooth inlays had me coming back DAILY! Keep the vids coming, you rock TH-cam. Very well spoken and informative vids with get to the point accuracy. Thank you for that. With your help, I own A WOLF Lp, a Firefly FF338 Spalted maple, and IYV PRS. Great quality axes can be purchased for under $500..and sometimes under $300!
This is the only one I kept, returned 2 other Volgoa models. What do you think of the pickups? Mine were slightly misaligned to the strings. Also had to dull the fret ends, no ball endings unfortunately. But decided to keep it - headless for this price and stainless is a keeper
I would have flipped if that had been available in the 80's, as a teen I traded a dirtbike for a no name crapcaster 9000 that was slightly less fun to fret than a chain saw let alone play (kimberly guitar)... Got a budget Ibanez last year for Christmas, and now LOVE to play guitar again! Keep up these good reviews!
The resin composite material on the fret board is PRC, which is used on furniture, pool table's, exc... I work for a pool table company that uses that material on their tables. That material will never warp or brake, virtually indestructible. i find it very interesting that they would use it on a fret board. My only concern, if you had to replace any frets, could it be done without damage to the material? The PRC isn't flexible like rosewood or ebony, that would be my concern. Even though its virtually indestructible, it still can brake and or crack. Other than that, I would be all for the use of the material! Awesome looking / sounding guitar! You are an excellent guitarist, and I enjoy watching your channel!
I literally went and ordered this guitar as soon as you mentioned it in this video. From what i can tell online amazon is sold out of this exact color way and set up of HSH the gloss fretboard is super iconic . It arrives in the mail today super excited to play it when i get home . Your a huge inspiration to the guitar universe because most people cannot afford the really high end guitars but i feel you find the best ones for a crazy price like this one … i really enjoy watching your videos max !
@@losmazeman bro an amazing guitar the frets the fretboard are amazing pickups are hot but definitely have some great tone to them I definitely recommend this guitar to anyone max found a hidden gem definitely!!!!!!
My biggest gripe many years ago with cheap guitars, out of the box, is a lot of them have certain pickup positions that are only tonally useful and strong in one area only. From what I heard of you playing it clean it doesn't sound like it has that issue. That right there made me thing '... nice'.
It depends upon the style of music you play, if you only want one type of sound you can easily pick up a guitar like this and buy a Humbucker for sub $100 swap out the default (in my experience not very good) strings and boom for under $300 you have a rather nice setup. These often have cheap electronics so I'd recommend just wiring your good Humbucker straight to the plug and not having to worry about it. I bought my daughter a kids guitar for around $120 that's nicer than it has any right to be at that price range, sand the fretwires (minimally, they're not too bad,) replace the strings, and maybe do the electronic work as previously mentioned, and it would be as good as many guitars you can spend 5x that much on.
I ordered the Telecaster style version. Same color, but two pickups with a coil split. It's coming tomorrow and your video has me even more psyched up for it. There are some negative reviews regarding the electronics, but for $150, it's worth a shot.
I Grabed one of these the night Max put this Vid up. It is a Beautiful Super Strat w/ a Mahogony Body and Carmelized maple neck , a Super hard smooth HPL. Fretboard , Rounded Stainless steal Frets. -- Free Shipping. even the PU's are good. You could upgrade the trem block w/ a brass block for 25 bucks. The one thing I don't like is the headstick White letering which is a garish mark in an otherwise nice guitar. 189.Very Good deal. If you get a bad one its Amazon so just return it for free. Some may have bad sodering in the wiring no big deal. Mine is fine. Good bones for sure. Nicer/ Better than a firefly. SG. IMO.
hello, like other commenters this guitar sold out in the first 34 minutes of posting 3 days ago. You sound greater now though. A thing, when sliding your notes from 10th to 15th fret B string (0:28), you use your third finger when sliding, so that your first and second finger are always freed up and your execution smooth. What is called "Finger priority" in solo guitar - which finger chosen when executing notes in a scale or pattern in solo guitar so that your playing is effecient and sounds even.
i recently bought 10/15/24 a grote les paul clone in red burst for my son to learn on $209 on amizon solid mahogany body with a flame maple top venieir. beautiful to behold i set it up for him the neck was straight as an arrow also magogany with rosewood fetboard round ended ss heavy frets smooth lg mother of pear inlays. the only real things i did was lower the strings about 1 mm put some dadario 9-42 xl coated strings on it and set atunation on the bridge. i swapped the white pick gaurd for a black one and pick up covers for black steel ones and steel chrome covers i already had just didnt like the dark red and off white look. it had no scratches blemishes or issues the freting was perfectly leveled no hanging edges 12 degree rad fret board 42mm nut plays as good as my epiphone player series i have nothing bad to say about it. pickups are decent later i might change them for seymore duncans maybe mojotone. and upgrade the pot to lg cts-500k with some russian poi .22 caps but for $209 its a steal for anyone looking for a cheaper lp to play with.
Not sure if already mentioned but these guitars have fake printed tops, they are not real maple veneer, Grote guitars, among some other low-end names, also use printed faux flame maple tops and you can spot it quickly. I ordered one of the grotes and could not un-see the fakeness so I sent it back. Some may be ok with these faux tops, and that's fine.....but I'm not one of them :)
Absolutely agree about your point about the look of the instrument. A guitar you want to pick up and play is … surprise … a guitar that gets you playing! Looks don’t equate to tone but man they really do matter.
Like the roasted maple neck and roller truss rod. The Amazon site mentions it has carbon rod reinforcement. Pretty cool. Be interested in a later review of guitar after you have had it for a while.
This looks like a shredders dream! Price on this is CRAZY inexpensive! AND looks like a $1500-$2000 guitar! Sounds are very good, surprisingly good! Maxx has hit it out of the park....again!
Sorry BUT NO! Everything is bottom of the barrel and will fail in short order. You still do kind of get what you pay for! After upgrading everything and spending the money upfront for cheap crap you could have just bought a better guitar to begin with. Seriously what do you expect to get at 150-200 dollars? A decent set of pickups cost as much as this whole damn guitar alone!
@@shane011471 no what? Everything I said is accurate. It LOOKS like a $1500-$2000 guitar lol. Its possible that it is a very good product. Marketing has a HUGE mark up. I own two Agile LP and the build quality is like that of Gibson, no word of a lie and price is under $500. Theres also AIO and Wolf to mention a couple others.
@unreal world i agree, its easy to assume that because its very affordable that its not good quality. People forget that its mostly the cheap labour that keeps the cost down.
@@dragan4658 If they sell it at $150-$200 how much money do you think it cost them to produce OR how much time and care went into it may I ask? The answer is none. Not saying you need to spend 2k on a guitar BUT everything from the pickups to the pots and switches down to the nut and tuners comes from the bottom of the basement. They slap them together and kick them out the door without even so much as looking at them. I do not see how anyone would expect anything different. It cost nothing to slap a cheap veneer on a chunk of wood to make it look pretty. If you like the guitar that's great! Just myself personally I do not understand the logic behind purchasing something like this just to wind up spending as much (At the very least) OR more to get rid of the junk when you could have just saved that money and purchased something better to begin with.
Nice....I just checked Amazon. $189. But they also have a model that is modeled after the John Pechuci signature model. Music man guitar. $199. Very similar. Except his style pick-ups. Controls. And headstock. 4+2
I don't know Max, pretty tough to sound bad playing through that Mustang gtx. I think that amplifier is the most under rated piece of gear out there recently. I love my gtx.
I have a Volgoa Tele copy with the same style fretboard. I really like them. I am looking to getting the guitar you are showing. Hopefully pretty soon.
First... it's gorgeous! And you are absolutely correct, a guitar that plays well and is that pretty, is going to make you want to pick it up every time you walk by it. Second.. I'd love to see apply the same approach to affordable amps. I can afford and have a couple decent amps, but the lower priced ones these days are pretty awesome. Third, Merry Christmas!
Not really the top isn't flame maple its just a paper print stuck on and cleared in I had 1 mine was a plastic body mine split apart needed a re-glued and when I took it apart wasn't worth the effort I chucked it in my shed and its been there ever since it played OK pups were not to bad
Got badly burnt with "marvelous" Harley Benton crap of guitars. WHEN will people learn there is NO free lunch on this world ??? It was a perfect scam. The YT reviewers got perfectly set up guitars and mine way unplayable out of the box. Some even apologized afterwards. Save, get yourself a good guitar and enjoy. Buy cheap phone and good guitar. MUCH more fun.
@@panan7777 not all cheap guitars are junk. I prefer to buy used name brand and sometimes b stock which is even hard to tell its b stock, bought a few LTD's that were new b stock and are amazing!
I was doubting pulling the trigger on this since they only have 3 stars reviews, but I'm glad you did a review on it. I've been wanting to order their tele version.
That fretboard looks amazing the Frets look perfect. Makes me kind of want to spray one of my squire Laurel fret boards with some nitro or some polyurethane or something to get that look although you'd really have to go through a lot of sanding 2000 grit 3000 grit 4000 grit maybe up to even five thousand grit then apply whatever finish and then start puffing away until she shines like that. Maybe a little car wax to finish her off lol yeah I just cannot get over the look at that neck that is like the best of both worlds. Thanks again Max for bringing us another winner you my friend are incredible and I am so glad you are here to guide us into not wasting our money on buying $5,000 guitars especially if we're not in bands and touring the country or the world of course then we probably have to buy a $20,000 guitar but I would bet you that if you had to gig you could probably take this guitar on stage and people would be wandering wowwhat the hell is that guy playing. I mean it does sound great and when the light hit that fretboard every guitar guy in the audience is going to be looking at each other going what the hell is that thing it's like a guitar from outer space. Yes Max has a guitar from planet Zeutron! Right on brother
HPL is another name for "Ebonol", which Kramer was using for fingerboards back in the 70's. Another name for it is Paper Micarta, which I've used as knife handle material. It's rugged stuff.
Well I made it to the 1:36 minute mark when he said the guitar has a quilted maple veneer ... instead of a printed top which was very clearly stated on the Amazon page. If a reviewer can't tell a guitar has a printed top or doesn't bother to read the printed specs I have no use for watching the rest of the video. It's a printed top, folks, ... printed.
I couldn't agree more with your "I want to pick up that guitar and play" analogy. Look good, play good from Dieon Sanders comes to mind. I'm now a subscriber....thinking of buying this guitar. I just pulled the trigger on a BCP cutaway acoustic-electric...fingers crossed, going to try and learn to play BOTH!
Got a tip. When they have the three pickups soldered to the 5-switch in the traditional way, you will never ever hear the two humbuckers together. A very simple way to get this, is swapping the wires of middle and neck pickup. And turning the neck pickup 180 degrees is often a good idea, fase shift. I call this my BNM guitar. Position 2 is bridge and neck, do you see? Position 4 is still neck and middle. But now position 3 is NECK and position 5 is MIDDLE, which is not intuitive anymore. Point is, those 5-switches do not support all 7 useful combinations (number 8 is all pickups switched off). So YOU can choose which combinations you drop. It is YOUR guitar, after all. The other obvious swap results in a MBN guitar, then you still got the M+B option. How many guitar players did this mod? It's so easy...
with you playing the guitar which every time you do that let's me know whether or not I will choose to even give a guitar a second glance and this one I will be checking out.
Are the pickup cavities routed straight? I am a connoisseur of inexpensive guitars and I find this particular model very interesting. What I’d like to know is how the fret board holds up to a re-fret job. Since it’s compressed wood fibers and epoxy, not sure how it reacts to frets being pulled. If the frets are glued in they may need to be heated to break the glue bond. The heat may damage the HPL fret board. I may write the company for additional info. When I buy an inexpensive guitar, the first thing I do is rip out the frets and install Jescar EVO Gold jumbo frets. I cut a new nut from bone or use a composite nut. Also replace all electronics and pickups with Iron Gear pups. I love buying inexpensive guitars and rebuilding them to a pro level while keeping the cost down. I may very well buy this model and pimp it out. As far as I am concerned, Harley Benton is one of the very best budget guitars but this one really has me interested.
@@StringprodigyDuh 😮, I think Max covered MUCH MORE than just “the Looks” or were you sleeping 😴 up until the very end when he mentioned “the Looks” 🤪🤪
I bought an Ibinez Gio at a place called Bailey Brothers, that has almost exact paint style, pickup setup, for the same price. It plays awesome. This literally looks like a mockup of the Gio. Before I saw the name, I actually thought this video was about the Ibinez Gio, because without seeing the headstock, it looks almost identical.
The fact that you said it was playable out of the box with no dead frets says a lot. You mentioned that you were going to attempt to lower the action in the future. Would be nice to hear if any frets need to be lowered when you do that. But at hat price-point, it’s almost expected to have to do a little TLC work. Maybe that laminate fingerboard helps with that? I’d be real interested in how everything shakes out after you had it for a while and set it up to your liking.
Anything that's looks too good to be true usually isn't.And this thing seems to have only one sound. When someone demonstrates a guitar or an amp and runs it thru distortion pedals is a red flag.Let the buyer beware.

Awesome find ,love a guitar that has all the latest features ,at an affordable price ,it's hard to believe the price ,that has got to be pretty close to cost ,for sure ,and that riff you played after kicking into overdrive ,as well as the solo was inspiring !!Thank you for another great demo !

Some of the reviews for the guitar are bad, but for that price point, and the beauty of it, the electronics and pickups can be swapped out if need be. About half the people that got one are totally happy with it. I'm on the waiting list...

i'm almost 60 years old and i grew up listening to alot of different music from alot of genres, my favorite became rock after i started listening to f.m. radio in 1978. music certainly has changed alot since then but only since the late 90's has for me become unlistenable. i love the video's that you do that highlight some really good guitars for not so much money, i'm hoping it will get some young and old musicians into playing and coming up with some new old school fm rock. as a black man i understand that rock was introduced to the world by my people, i'm not saying everyone has to agree with me but it's getting harder to be a black man in this society to love rock and roll. i can't stand rap or hip hop....it's just not for me. anyway, thank you for posting about some inexpensive ways to get into actually playing real music.
Yeah, black people pioneered some awesome music, but in more recent history, not so much. There is some good new music out there, but you have to dig to find it.
I'm A 58 year old white guy who grew up listening to rock n roll I play guitar and my guitar heroes are Jimmy Hendrix and SRV and my favorite music is old original acoustic blues . If this younger generation would listen to the roots of rock n roll they would be inspired to come up with something better than rap and hip hop and most the new metal is just terrible . music has been going in a bad direction for a few decades
I have seen these reviewed and they can go either way. That said I actually was considering their headless guitar Volgoa GTWT it runs around $240.00. I would have gotten one but came across some amazing deals on some pre owned guitar that I could not pass up.
Reported another impersonator/scammer to TH-cam. I think the content creators really need to get together and get them removed or maybe having a action that will take them down right away.
Hello, (PLEASE HELP!) based on your review, I bought this guitar. You are right! Ìt is beautiful! There are only two issues. It has fret sprout and is painful to play. That's OK,I can fix that. The fatal issue is that it will nou stay in tune. Not even close. I have lots of guitars and have been playing for sixty years, so I am familiar with tuning. If I try to tune it, by the time I tune the sixth string the other five are flat. No matter how many times I repeat the process. My thoughts are: 1) string stretch or not installed correctly. 2) Tremolo bridge keeps relaxing. 3) Neck is loose or bending. 4) The tuners are that bad. But I've never seen anything as bad as this. I have 30 days to return it, but I really like it other than the tuning issue and would really like to fix it. Dang! Do you think I should send it back? Please understand, I believe you did an honest review and in no way blame you for any of the aformentioned problems. Thank you and I hope you have a happy and blesses New Year. Shalom/gw
Also the fretboard and neck design are not as friendly as the other companies. That might just be years of preference though. Maybe for someone who started on it and played it for years it would fit but Paul Reed smith just had the best spacing between strings (at least for my hands). On many guitars the gap is so wide to me that it makes no sense but it seems other people don’t mind.
Ibanez sells the same type guitar for under $200 bucks too. It's all cheap parts, doesn't have great tone, and won't stay in tune very well. But if you want something to plunk on in the basement, it's great.
Merry Christmas to you and yours Max. Thank you for highlighting a great cross section of eclectic and affordable guitars for another year. Wishing you a happy and prosperous new year, and good luck with the album. Tim from Oz.
The neck heel looks like it's carved pretty closely to a prestige or j custom. I have a couple Starfield (a single year run, 20+ years ago) that have the same heel. It's an excellent shape and actually enables an ease of play on the upper frets that goes beyond access - when you're reaching you don't feel a square-ish heel/plate pressing into the palm of your hand; I came to like it so much I basically created a "heel comfort" category in my mental assessment list to help me decide whether or not to keep/buy/replace an instrument...glad to see it turn up in a range that even beginners can afford - you'll be a lot more likely to practice more if your instrument plays well and sits nice in your hand.
I don't see the HSH version today, but the 2H version is available. One of the 2H has the hard bolt on with plate, not the smooth heel of this one, no thanks on the square plate heel. There is another 2H version with a smooth heel, but the head is not 3/3 it is 4/2 which I don't really like either. Seems like a nice find. PRS is the main hole in my collection, but I would be fine with this until I stumble across a bag of money to buy the real thing.
03/29/2023: Hello, I am retired 77-years young, and I love your informative videos. May I ask you to do a video on the best "wireless" over the ear headphones that don't need a computer or Bluetooth phone. I seek to just plug in an adapter to headset jack on amp and play. I could only find Waza headset that simply had an adapter to plug in amp, but the price point is about $400.00. I am just a home hobbyist and do not wish to pay that much. My EART Guitar T-380, Modern Humbucker Pickups, Double Coil Split, Two Point Tremolo Bridge, stainless steel fret wires electric Guitar guitar only cost me that much. So, what do you think? Regards form Orlando, Florida 🙂
One way to test to see if you'll have feedback at higher volumes is to tap the pick ups with a pick: if you hear the tapping, then the pickups are "micro-phonic", and unfortunately, you'll probably have feedback problems. (Make sure you change the selector switch when checking.)
So glad you made this video. I was looking for an 8 string on amazon and seeing what prices and availability were, and i ran into the 7 string version of this same brand and style exactly just as a 7 string. And even though I'd REALLY rather an 8 this time, i just might have to pick it up especially after hearing your feedback on it, I'm super interested. And its $229.99!!!!

@@WhoaK At some point, you just have to split the part between the bass and the guitar. I dabbled with a 7 string and realized I could have a great bass part and and great guitar part or I could have a mediocre mixed part on one guitar. .
Cool video and it seems to be a great guitar at that price. That being said, in the same price range, I believe the Yamaha Pacifica 012 model to be a superior guitar
Yamaha seems to offer superior quality control to other offerings in this price range based on numerous reviews that I have come across. That said, that doesn't mean everyone will like it.
My favorite cheap guitar is my Yamaha Pacifica that is good enough to keep me from buying a Strat but I have to admit you have me thinking of buying this Volgoa Axe.
Review on Amazon 3/5 stars I was really excited when I saw this guitar, which looked like a Suhr copy, offering a roasted maple neck and rounded stainless steel frets for such a low price. That excitement quickly turned into disappointment. This guitar has bad electronics (pickups have very weak signal - tried different cables and amplifiers, and all of my other guitars are fine), bad fret buzz due to very unlevel frets, frets sticking out (even though they are slightly rounded) and extremely poor pickup routing. The tremolo is extremely low quality Pros: The guitar looks nice from a distance. The red finish is beautiful Tuners seem to be decent quality Lots of modern cutaways Hpl material is finished and feels great to the touch Comes with a gig bag Cons: Defective electronics and pickups, couldn't really tell you how they're supposed to sound Fret ends stick out Very uneven frets causing lots of buzzes The neck shape is way too thick. Heavy neck dive The nut is cut poorly Tremolo bridge is poor quality Terrible factory setup and the guitar is unplayable I wanted to like and keep this guitar but there are too many things wrong with it for me. If Volgoa wants to be successful it will need to make the following adjustments: 1. Inspect all electronics are working and guitar is playable with little to no fret buzz 2. Make sure fret ends do not stick out 3. Make the neck thinner (D or even thin C) 4. Clean your route work
The flame is a print, according to the description at the Amazon link Max provided. Not surprising at this price point, but I don't think Max mentioned that so I thought I would. For me, the print makes it no bueno but YMMV, as they say online. Would rather have a plain painted finish that isn't trying to be something it's not. On an unrelated matter, Max maybe wouldn't need to search Amazon for teeth whitening foam if he'd kick the TAB habit.
Neat find! You suggest that a good looking guitar can get you more excited to play it, but I bet if you had, side-by-side, this sharp looking guitar that DIDN'T play or sound great, and a bland looking guitar that plays and sounds amazing, 9/10 you would probably pick up the bland one! That said, about 15 years ago I got my oldest son a Squier Bullet Strat for $99. It was sonic gray metallic with dual humbuckers. At the time, my guitar was an orange sunburst Fender 40th Anniversary Stratocaster with triple single coils, which I absolutely loved playing. But when I picked up my son's $99 guitar and started to play it, I was mesmerized. How could such a cheap guitar look, feel and sound so good?! I have to say that the sheer value is what made it so desirable to play. I was so impressed that I later bought my younger son a sunburst Squier Bullet Strat which currently stands in my bedroom. 😂
As usual, by the time I found this video, the guitar is completely sold out (yes, I am subscribed to your channel). It looks very nice, though. I’d love to get one, but I really don’t have room for it right now anyway. Thanks for sharing!
Searching for volgoa guitars on Amazon brings up 1 6 string model, a gt6 which is different than what's reviewed here. That model doesn't seem to be on Amazon. It's only been 7 days since this was released. BTW I highly doubt thats a flamed mahogany cap. It's either a veneer (not horrible, but not awesome either) or a photo finish (basically a sticker)
Best part of these guitars is that they don't lose value when you mod them. Trying to sell my wife on how great the house would look with guitars hanging on every wall. Working on getting around "Why do you need yet another goddamn guitar!?" and "I'm not going to live in a guitar store!"
I have 2 in my house on my living room wall, the third still waits for approval. That's my 1986. Yugoslavian home made classical guitar, I sticker bombed it and now it looks gorgeous. She likes it. Fingers crossed. 😂
@@StephGV2 Damn, you'll have to do something really epic for her to change her mind. :) My luck/problem is that we live in the apartment, I don't have my man cave so she has to accept shared space. :D
I’ve found it’s best to not say anything and if she notices it, just say this is my new baby and play her a song. Works 50% of the time depending on how hungry she is
Likely she wouldn't be saying things like "Why do you need yet another goddamn guitar!?" and "I'm not going to live in a guitar store!", if you weren't attempting to hang them on every wall of the house you SHARE. It's a house and should look like a home shared by ADULTS. It's not a storage warehouse, and attempting to make them look like part of the decor is neither reasonable nor should you expect her to accept that. Designate them to ONE room (make a room into a studio or office) and I guarantee you'll find greater acceptance to your collection - because she won't have to see them all over the house. Think, brother.
Great review. I have a few expenses guitars but I like buying cheaper ones that play great in spite of their lower cost. I can buy one on the fly just for grins. Guitars are like guns and motorcycles, I don’t need more then one but I like to own lots more then just one. Thanks
I'm impressed by that. I guess the frets aren't stainless steel?. I've just built a CST24-T from a kit and that has impressed me for the price. It's amazing what you can get for the money if you look around.
For $200 ? Oh my word! She's Fantastic. Just from hearing the vid.,. Sounds like a great substitute for someone looking for A PRS style Guitar on a low budget scale !.
Hence why my Kramer has a sound through my uberschall that my other guitars just can’t get even in the 5-6k range. It’s just a unique sound where it sounds alive. It’s weak spot is the actual playability because the tuning can go whack so easy but the TONE
Great find and review..thanks.. unbelievable what you get for your money....even the trem seemed to hold tuning better then a traditional strat trem..still being issued on expensive brand name guitars. May I ask where this is made..my guess would be s.Korea.
@@chasbee Yes some printed tops look OK ... others, not so much. It depends upon the company and how much that means to you. It does mean a lot to me, however.
@unrealworld6782 It looks exactly like an Ibanez Gio. Headstock is different. Fingerboard is different. But do compare them, do you see much difference?
@unreal world Are you serious?? There are several guitar manufacturers that have REAFL FLAME MAPLE veneer tops for under or slightly above $200, where have you been???
Amazon reviewers aren't as kind as you, but you show us the guitar and you actually play it, so I trust you more. But surely it's a risk as to how good the one you're sent will actually be. And boy, that blue VLG6 is sure purdy!
I think the issue is average joe's don't know how to setup their guitars properly and these are too cheap to have techs spending time doing proper setups before shipping out.
Looks and sounds like a decent guitar for the apprentice and maybe even the more experienced players. And the price is right. Where are these instruments made?
Im still pinching myself to see if it was a dream where I found a used Epiphone SG with awesome Ibanez new $65 gig bag for $125 ! At a Marin Ca music store mind you! Sounds and plays amazing so my old American made Strat sits in closet. I think I need one of these too!
Is this a veneer that's actually a piece of printed paper glued on? Kind of like tinted window-shading? They're doing fabulous things with paper-thin plastic.
I looked on Amazon Canada and they only have 2 pick up standard colors with a middle type pick up and neck pick up so they are missing the bridge pick up . Priced at $179 to $189 .

Cool! I've got a Volgoa headless guitar review going up tomorrow. Fantastic guitar.
Those 200 Ibanez look sweet. Hard to pick this up over the quality name of Ibanez
Surprised no one has commented on how good those pickups sound. Very PAFish in the cleans, lovely tone
They sound crisp, don’t they?
Lots of them too eh?! 5 Pick-ups?!?! I've rarely seen that on an electric guitar....
I added it to my guitar shopping list. GAS is a problem. Thank you for contributing to the issue.
Please give us an update after you play it a bit.

My biggest gripe many years ago with cheap guitars, out of the box, is a lot of them have certain pickup positions that are only tonally useful and strong in one area only. From what I heard of you playing it clean it doesn't sound like it has that issue. That right there made me thing '... nice'.
Yeah, but this dude could make pretty much make anything sound good.
He’s like Andy the pedal demonstration dude.
SG. IMO.
I'm loving how often the uploads have been coming!
hello, like other commenters this guitar sold out in the first 34 minutes of posting 3 days ago.
Just ordered one...was looking for another super strat!!! Great video
Let me say something. Not a pro. But.
Max can make any quitar to play amazingly.
Every time it is WOW!
Thank you, Max!
The ball end frets are must-have for any guitar I’m going to get going forward.
Probably the nicest looking budget guitar I've seen in a long time.
it’s a photo flame though.
WOW That thing is beautiful! Love the budget vids!
i recently bought 10/15/24 a grote les paul clone in red burst for my son to learn on $209 on amizon solid mahogany body with a flame maple top venieir. beautiful to behold i set it up for him the neck was straight as an arrow also magogany with rosewood fetboard round ended ss heavy frets smooth lg mother of pear inlays. the only real things i did was lower the strings about 1 mm put some dadario 9-42 xl coated strings on it and set atunation on the bridge. i swapped the white pick gaurd for a black one and pick up covers for black steel ones and steel chrome covers i already had just didnt like the dark red and off white look. it had no scratches blemishes or issues the freting was perfectly leveled no hanging edges 12 degree rad fret board 42mm nut plays as good as my epiphone player series i have nothing bad to say about it. pickups are decent later i might change them for seymore duncans maybe mojotone. and upgrade the pot to lg cts-500k with some russian poi .22 caps but for $209 its a steal for anyone looking for a cheaper lp to play with.
@@shane011471 i disagree , a decent set of pickups cost 20-30 bucks , a name brand set cost 150-200 clams ..
Not saying you need to spend 2k on a guitar
BUT everything from the pickups to the pots and switches down to the nut and tuners comes from the bottom of the basement.
I would love an update to see if the pickup and plug-in connections have stayed intact and how much neck warping may have happened over a year.
I don't know Max, pretty tough to sound bad playing through that Mustang gtx. I think that amplifier is the most under rated piece of gear out there recently. I love my gtx.
Ordered one right after seeing this for a Christmas game my partner’s family plays.
Don't do it. It won't hold a tune.
I like the raw look of no frames on the pickups, reminds me of Eddie's Frankenstrat which is never a bad thing
HPL is another name for "Ebonol", which Kramer was using for fingerboards back in the 70's. Another name for it is Paper Micarta, which I've used as knife handle material. It's rugged stuff.
I have a Gibson and a bass with a fretboard like that. They work great, especially the bass fingerboard. Black like ice.
The quilted maple is digitally printed on. Not real veneer. Amazon is all out of these at the moment as well. I like the blue one.
I got the epiphone special SG in black off Amazon for the Christmas deals. Sounds and plays great!
Mine were not straight. The routing was done at an odd angle.

Isn't the tone more a function of the amp?
Oh yeah I'm getting one. That stick is beautiful and sounds amazing.
Sold out and can't find it anywhere else online. Sounded great and looks decent enough, though!

I like what He said about the looks of a guitar makes you want to play it. He's right.

May I ask you to do a video on the best "wireless" over the ear headphones that don't need a computer or Bluetooth phone. I seek to just plug in an adapter to headset jack on amp and play. My EART Guitar T-380, Modern Humbucker Pickups, Double Coil Split, Two Point Tremolo Bridge, stainless steel fret wires electric Guitar guitar only cost me that much. So, what do you think? One way to test to see if you'll have feedback at higher volumes is to tap the pick ups with a pick: if you hear the tapping, then the pickups are "micro-phonic", and unfortunately, you'll probably have feedback problems. (Make sure you change the selector switch when checking.)
Feedback now a problem? Spent years chasing how to use it
Definitely think you should give fesley guitars a shot from amazon as well bro they seem to have a very solid review build seems pretty good as well

Just checked Amazon prime, no volgoa guitars available, none and they don't know when any would become available and price was over $200.
Review on Amazon 3/5 stars
I was really excited when I saw this guitar, which looked like a Suhr copy, offering a roasted maple neck and rounded stainless steel frets for such a low price.
The tremolo is extremely low quality
Pros:
The guitar looks nice from a distance. The red finish is beautiful
Tuners seem to be decent quality
Lots of modern cutaways
Hpl material is finished and feels great to the touch
Comes with a gig bag
Cons:
Defective electronics and pickups, couldn't really tell you how they're supposed to sound
Fret ends stick out
Very uneven frets causing lots of buzzes
The neck shape is way too thick. Heavy neck dive
The nut is cut poorly
Tremolo bridge is poor quality
Terrible factory setup and the guitar is unplayable
I wanted to like and keep this guitar but there are too many things wrong with it for me. If Volgoa wants to be successful it will need to make the following adjustments:
1. Inspect all electronics are working and guitar is playable with little to no fret buzz
2. Make sure fret ends do not stick out
3. Make the neck thinner (D or even thin C)
4. Clean your route work
That was my review. I went into moee detail on YT before I sent it back: th-cam.com/video/TlYF7JIoCVM/w-d-xo.html
That guitar really packs a punch for the price range. Awesome demo
If a print, then no thank you, although it looks beautiful here 😏
Yep he said it has a veneer....for 180 honestly you can't go wrong with this. Really how can one complain at that price
@@richardcarle786 My understanding is _veneer_ on guitars can be real wood, but paper thin. Printed is a printed image :(
Max with the insane recommendations again.
Beautiful! Clean channel stuff sounded good. Distortion was terrible but could probably be tweaked
I just bought one...no middle pick up ...with the trem....I got a blue one.🤘😎
Nice and killer intro.
Heck, i thought i got a deal for a $75.00 DeltaTone, S HSS,,,um, yep. Back 15 years ago. hell yeah, i did.
I got the GTM-01, and it came set up alot like Sterling/Ernie Ball JP model. Even has a Crunch Lab bridge pick up. That pup alone is $100+.
@@Wantar The number of guitars my wife wants to see outside The 10x12 Studio is ZERO.
Thanks
Bought it! Love your reviews, keep'em coiming
Okay, I 'm sold. Love the tone.
That is an incredible finish for such an inexpensive guitar. Nice work finding the gem.
You realize it's a fake faux printed top.....NOT maple, right?
@@deftone1715 Was just gonna say that. Says right on Amazon it's printed.
I am going to order one of them..
It looks way cooler then any one's I seen for as low as it cost..
Thanks 😊👍
Nice guitar! My friend got a firefly really cheap on line and it's really cool.
Im still pinching myself to see if it was a dream where I found a used Epiphone SG with awesome Ibanez new $65 gig bag for $125 ! At a Marin Ca music store mind you! Sounds and plays amazing so my old American made Strat sits in closet.
I think I need one of these too!
Thanks Bananas at Large! They have Neal Schons Gibson Byrdland there for sale also.Shes a big girl.
Is this a veneer that's actually a piece of printed paper glued on? Kind of like tinted window-shading? They're doing fabulous things with paper-thin plastic.
Its beautiful! May have to order this one.
I looked on Amazon Canada and they only have 2 pick up standard colors with a middle type pick up and neck pick up so they are missing the bridge pick up . Priced at $179 to $189 .
What?! That's the goofiest pup array anyone would want. Lol. Leave it to Canada😁
