This is awesome! By the way if you wish to fix the lazy shifts on the A650E transmission, definitely look in to an upgraded valve body and an external oil cooler. All of this will help the transmission hold up with the extra power + it's more content for us ;)
Yes, but the A760E should have the same boost valve assembly selection that would make it easy to select the "firm" shift setting without any valve body replacements. All they have to do is drop the pan and change the selection.
@@TickleFingers Looks like you're right, if the second-gen IS and this LS430 have the same basic A760E valve body. I found a pic on an IS350 service thread where the pressure dial is clearly visible.
The drive mode ' POWER' with make the transmission downshift quicker and hold rpm higher before it shift to next gears. I love it...I wish I can transform my 05 like yours.
Wish I could of afforded/did this when I owned my 2001 LS430... Loved that car... drove it to 244K and sold it, 6 or so years ago, the owner is still driving it... That is awesome !
Maybe an exterior mounted camera for some exhaust note when you're getting on it to edit in would be a nice touch. Also drive by videos from outside is always a plus. Loving this series builds and tune in for every new video!
Wonder if this entire process would fit on my 06 GS430 (3uzfe)? You guys are a game changer! Clean edits, good music vibes, and sick content... you have my support.
Neat! I trimmed the stock engine cover to fit over mine and sanded the Ford SVT logo off :) a GT86 T2 Torsen diff center should help with the peg leg situation if yours is an open center. cant wait for the smaller pulley and dyno testing the different ecus
@@jlemeshe yes you need to swap bits around, but if your car has the 8" narrow diff the 86 center works, be aware there is a wide 8" diff where it wont work and Toyota/Lexus diff codes are a huge mess of A, B and G codes and sometimes A does not equal A and B does not equal B or A of another model so you need to measure!
Nice job boys! PT the trick with spraying wrinkle paint is a bucket of hot water from the sink, submerge the spray can in with a weight on it for 15-20 min. Have your part prepped and ready go and with your heat gun in one hand and the properly shaken paint can in the other, bring your part up to temp with the heat gun and alternate back and forth laying down paint visually seeing the finished texture within a second to get an even finish. I did all of my charge pipes and a valve cover like this and they look like I got them back from the powdercoater.👍
Hitting the tape with a mallet is how you used to make gaskets with universal gasket material. For the bolt holes you would place a ball bearing on it and tap that
Great job guys, I can’t wait to see the LS stack up against the M5 on the track. The bay of the LS just looks sooo factree the way you dropped in that supercharger. You should be proud
Can't wait to you put the custom ecu! I have to say that I've been yearning for this car for years now and to see the way you guys moded the car is makes me want it more... Great job!
Hey DP and PT, if you pull the transmission pan, you should see all the solenoids on the passenger side of the valve body. Closest to the engine, right by a bolt that secures the valve body is a little dial with three pizza slice slots in it. Push it in and turn it clockwise so the little triangle piece is now sitting in the shallowest pizza slice. That'll push that piston in a hair and give you a small boost in valve body pressure. Should reduce the slipping of the clutches. (This is according to the IS350 transmission; the LS430 might be different)
I have a 2005 lexus LS430 and i was thinking about doing the same thing. But i didn't know how about doing it like that. I am very impressed and also surprised that you can use a Ford charger. I just want to say thank you for sharing this.
If you have a piece of scrap pipe to stick inside of the hose, the hoseclamp trick goes next level. It's a good trick I've used for years after struggling so hard with it.
Also for removing tape off edges I use a small file and rub the tape off the edges very gently. Just enough pressure so it brakes the tape only and doesn't touch the metal nearly any. Has worked great.
I really like these builds. Mature yet tons of character. I am a professional, have a family, and struggle with auto options that are fun, professional, accommodate family needs, and don’t blow the budget. Not saying these necessary check all those boxes but it definitely makes me think. Good work.

Not going to lie, but I actually expected a lot more. Probably because I own a terminator cobra, which is the type of car the blower came from so I'm well aware if its full potential. Cant wait to see it running at its full potential after the upgraded ECU.
The A650E and A760E transmissions should have a selector on the main valve body to select different shift setting characteristics via the Boost Valve Assembly. There are three settings from super cushy smooth shifts to firm shifts. All you do is drop the transmission pan and change the orientation to the shift selection you want. It should make a big improvement in the luxo shift characteristics of the stock Lexus LS430. Easy and practically free upgrade.
