Thanks for the video, other websites say you have to take out the heat pipe assembly to get the NVMe drive out, but im glad to see it is actually possible to replace it without taking the heat pipe out.
I know this is a old thread. I just got a light blue line on my screen (possibly dead pixel) I am going to open the screen out and try to remove connector and clean ..then plug back in again to see if it fixed this screen issue. wanting to know if the screen is held in by glue ?
when I use crystaldiskinfo, it showed me pcie x2. and i checked samsung PM961that it is capable of pcie x4. my question is, If i upgrade my nvme drive to pcie x4, will the socket of the lenovo dumb down the speed or it is also pcie x4 capable?

that took me by surprise too. I just saw the pic of the teardown and for sure i was going to remove the heatsink. this video saves me the trouble.

What is the Torx screwdriver size for the inside components? I know the casing is t5 but I want to remove the heatsinks and repaste the CPU.
Sorry i don't remember, i have the tool set and i'm using just one that fitting
Is that the Ram or the SSD you removed? can the Ram be upgraded?
khaled Ali Yes this is hard drive (NVMe), Ram is soldered in this platform
What exactly is it you took out and why?
In simple layman terms please, I'm not tech savvy.
It's NVMe SSD by Samsung 256G, almost the only part you can replace in following laptop
IT FIX
Thank you for the reply and details. But why did you take it out and not replace it with another one?
@@christurner3857 because it's new ssd, just wanted to show how to take it off
IT FIX
OK thanks, I was just worried why, because you put the case back together without it in there. :-)
can the wifi card be also replaced on this?
Yes , sure
Teardown????, you just open up the rear casing????😢
can i upgrade it to 16gb ram?
The RAM is soldered, so you can just buy 16GB RAM version
