Nice video. For my Jon boat I went with the larger Beaver Dam kit and the HF 15.8 HP motor. Took a little time getting it dialed in, but I'm very happy with it. The Beaver Dam owner, Mr. Robert Milner is First Rate! We were in constant contact via chat and calls, as I dialed in my set-up. Since I'm tall, and the distance to my transom and the first bench seat is a little far, I ended up having them make me a longer handle. Now I'm very comfortable as it runs through the water. I'm looking for to Ducks and Deer this season. Did do a little fishing out of my rig also and discovered I needed a long paddle in the boat to help me get away from the shore, the docks, and structure at certain times.

Good video! Hope you like it, I just assembled my kit last night and need to take it out tomorrow to see how it runs. I have the 6.5 hp predator stock for now.

+Gars Gone Wild It was hard to handle and it got loose on the transom. I traded it for a outboard. I should have never bought a Tracker jon boat LOL!!

Panfish yea the transom mount I have has a hole on top so you can drill in a screw for extra protection . and the bolts have suction cups plus a secondary locking bolt inside each bolt. I have. A 14 ft tracker . I know they aren't great but I got a good deal I couldn't pass up.. Sub to my channel I'll post videos of my set up out on the water this week. I already uploaded a video of my kit and of the heavy duty transom mount. Thanks for the quick reply

After you break this thing in be sure to chunk the rot gut motor oil and get a good synthetic. Make sure you get some tie down for transport. and that skeg will dig in to the seat, so make sure you have some foam under it.
You'll be surprised as how fast you'll move compared to paddling that kayak.

+Black Warrior Lures I am thinking about trying to find a magnetic oil drain plug. I may fool with the exhaust too.

I like hoe forward mounted this motor is. Jonboats in the western world, the transom is turned the wrong way. We really need a plum or forward tilting transom.

Yeah, this is a CLP Thailand motor. There are basically three brands over there: CLP, SPS and KKK.

+Black Warrior Lures Yep. I think the transom mount is made in Tennessee.

One last thing: Don't modify the engine! Maybe go with a good open intake, exhaust and carburetor rejet, but that's it! These little motors can't handle any more than that. If you want more power than that, you'll need more displacement. Having a motor blow on you while hunting cats below the dam ain't now time to figure out you over powered the motor.

+Black Warrior Lures Yea, it's not a Honda haha! I did find what they call a stage 1 kit. lol

Nah man remove that governor and cut the plastic on the intake to force air in while at speed, also throw a fat jet in there. It will cost ya 10$ and you can shoot flames. (Keep a trolling motor in boat just in case) have fun

Enjoyed the video, but I gotta disagree on one of your points, that Predator will probably last longer than a Honda. I have 6 of those motors on various things including my son's Go Kart that he has destroyed everything on it except the motor. A GX160 burned up after just 1 year and the Predator went on and hasn't had an issue yet, even after he run it without much oil for about 20 min

I do not remember on that one. You may want to speak with Beaver Dam Mud Runners to see what works best for you.
