What is Tai Chi for? Did you think of this...

  • Yes, it's a silly video - still Tai Chi has immense value as a tool for non-verbal communication and emotional regulation. This might annoy the people who say 'It's a deadly martial art and that's all' but those people are fun to annoy.
Also, don't get a dog unless you can dedicate the time to training and exercising the beast, have your patience tested, your floor dirtied, and one day your heart broken.

We adopted a fairly traumatized dog and TC has been very helpful to me in winning her trust. She trusted my wife immediately...fell in love right away...but with me she's been way more cautious. I probably remind her of someone who was mean to her when she was younger. She's definitely a smart once burned twice shy creature. I've learned to avoid direct eye contact and signal in any physical way I can that I love her and will not hurt her. This I do with my whole body as TC has taught me to do everything that way. Body to body, that's the way that's worked best. Cheers and good on you for making this video. ;~) Your dogs are great.

It works exactly the same with children, I don't have a dog, I have two children :-)

Chicken works better than Tai Chi, my dog agrees!

You can use both (unless you have a vegan dog)!
