- We were looking for some coarse gold but we found something that might be even better....
While most of the garnets with nice shape and color came in between 1-5 carats, Rose uncovered an almondine garnet weighing over 20 carats!
We've found lots of coarse little bits of gold and we're searching for a significant deposit or maybe some bigger pieces.

Find a rock pinch point, a bottleneck, where the water flows through fast (at high water) then spreads and calms just after. That is a good gold settling area. You should pan some good color from the sandy bottom in such a location.

Good to see you have something better than just pans. You could of just took the hopper and the back off the highbanker and used it as a sluice. I've got a Keene mini max and it comes with a flare to do that with it. You don't need a flare,it's still more productive than just panning. It's definitely got potential that claim.👍😉❤💛💚

3:58 you should investigate ALL of the "heavies" in the bottom of your pan. You have a bunch of transparent colorless minerals in there that are all quite similar, could be aquamarine. Aquamarine is very expensive.
