I would like to know what makes them believe he is still in the area??? It was a hour or more before they started looking for him and probably longer before a perimeter was set.
Because they're pretty sure he has unalived himself or will soon. He left his rifle behind which usually means they've given up. So it's unlikely his plan is to travel very far. They're just worried he may wander into an inhabited area before he has made up his mind and thus be a danger to more people nearby.
I also suspect that. And how did he actually buy a gun 'Legally" with approved 4473? He was arrested in February for threatening to do exactly what he did!! Why wasn't this entered in his record?
@pedrobossio5440 No conviction. Without a conviction or court ordered mental health inpatient order and diagnosis, you're not going to end up in the firearms database (by current federal law.) If Kentucky had a "red flag" law of their own covering such a circumstance, that would have done the trick. They have absolutely no red flag law of any sort.
Thoroughly corrupt economic, justice, and government systems will do that to a country. Along with a dash of religious-like fervor for politics and particular politicians.
Still safer than just about every other country in Central America, South America, Middle East, entire African Continent, and several parts of Eastern Europe.
With infrared & Thurmo tech on every Helicopter in the State ! How did he get out of the Woods so Fast????? this it starting to look like TOTAL BS FAKE BULL CRAP!!!!
I grew up in those mountains. They are extremely rough. Feels, valleys, old caves you name it. It's probably some of the roughest terrain in the United States. It's right on the heart of the Appalachian mountains. I was also in the military. FLIR doesn't work like it does in the movies. If he were to hide in one of those caves or dunk down in a body of water, they would never see him. He would be able to hear the helicopter coming for miles.
Military are taught how to evade infrared and thermal. Thermal is easy in a heavily wooded area, and FLIR is defeated with a $2 emergency blanket. One of those and a woobie/pancho makes a shelter you won't find from the air.
I’m from Kentucky. I’ve lived in that area. If he knows that area well and apparently he does he can hide there almost indefinitely. They will have to keep an eye on that area for months to come in order to catch him.
That's because the police had a very narrow search pattern, and did not think of a possible highjacking. This guy most likely highjack a innocent person and is long gone out of Kentucky
Get a new stage, that thing creeks like grandma's attic stairs. With that being said, find a good hunter. Not some deer stand idiot with a green field. A real hunter, somebody who knows how to track. Take them to the place where the shots were fired from, and get out of the way. This comes from a man in Ms who hates green fields, shoot houses, climber stands. I prefer to find my deer, not bait them. As the name implies, hunter, one who seeks out. Get somebody in there who understands how to find things in the woods.
In some places long guns have less restrictions than handguns. But you still have to do paperwork to buy them. The questions for handguns is more extensive and is run through a data base. I am disabled and a below the knee amputee! I can’t run so my handgun is very important
@@michelleheiss7630 Good on you for finding what can work! I am not pro-most restrictions. But paperwork, minimal waiting periods, and background checks that are truly and thoroughly vetted, as many current laws state, are fine by me. That said, as long as they aren't designed as a thread to continually be pulled. Not specific to this case, it's a shame that people that should raise a flag still go unscrutinized. That doesn't mean we need more laws, it means enforcement needs to be held to the same standards citizens are demanded of.
I never understood the need to bring in each alphabet agency in to give them their 15 minutes of fame? Each one just parrots what the others have said. Look at how many officers are wasted in this dog & pony show.

This guy/suspect if he is the actual shooter, most likely highjacked a car that stoped at the scene when altercation took place. Which is probably an innocent female, and long gone out of kentucky. I never heard the police say they extended the search until yesterday, which by then he is long gone
Outstanding job?????? it's been 48 hrs and this clown show doesn't even know where this guy is???? How many officers, agencies involved on this to find ONE SINGLE guy??? I don't know how anyone can say this was a legal purchase and why these clowns don't even mention this in their "Briefing". If I sound ticked off is because I'm tired of the clown shows with these shootings!
48 hours isn't much time at all. A few years ago a guy did this to a police barracks in PA. Almost a thousand police and federal agents were hunting him for 7 weeks in the woods. It's not easy to find someone in the woods when they *_want_* to be found, like a lost hiker, let alone when they don't want to be found and probably prepared.
It's not! its the idiots that have the guns. I have an ar 15 and I would never do that type of stuff. Car wrecks kill more people than guns do, we don't ban cars!
So he was charged with making terrorist threats before and ordered not to contact the victim, but charges were dismissed. Were tracking dogs not used, since he's supposedly on foot and they found where he'd shot from?
He left his rifle behind which was bought legally. He was a POI as a result. After talking to those who knew him and him not coming home, they probably decided that was enough to name him the suspect. Edit: They also found his car abandoned somewhat nearby.
@@possumverde after watching the rest of the video I got that same info... a rifle and a abandoned car could be items left to throw them off the real shooters trail... then again dude may have left them there so they'd know right away... ya'll stay safe frosty and free...

Ask yourself something. Don't this look like the police are blaming someone who may not have done this at all. To me it looks like law enforcement is putting fear in that community so they're department doesn't close. What evidence do they have that this gentleman has committed this crime? We want a news cast of why they believe this subject done this. Everything I have seen is, They suspect this guy done it. Could have been anyone and they are blaming an innocent person. Not to mention he has warrants, not related to this crime, and would definitely be in fear of law enforcement Especially if he didn't commit this crime. Say what evidence they have that he was responsible for the i-75 shooting. It looks like a set up. Like law enforcement done it to blame him. Don't Ever think they don't do crimes themselves, and place blame on someone else, because they certainly do! The public wants the laws proof broadcased on media of Why they believe this gentleman is responsible for the i-75 shooting. Nobody found at the crime. No evidence this gentleman was the shooter. Sad so many people believe the laws lies. They commit crrime, to make the public believe they are needed. But they won't admit it. Then they lie in courts. Naaa, we don't need police. Police need police.
@@shimmer8289 no, not at all. Never heard of him, his family, and never been to that location. Innocent until proven guilty, correct? Not, prove you're innocent, correct? They committe crimes, and blame other people. I have no proof he did it, I have no proof he didn't. But the law Must Have Proof, PERIOD....! They have stated, they have No Proof this subject did this. If they have proof, then great! A person of interest, That Has Warrants, isn't gonna turn himself in either way. Because if he didn't do it, then he, Himself knows what the law, or someone else done, that he is accused of doing. Don't be blinded thinking the law doesn't commit crimes, and frame/blame someone else for doing it. Happens Way More then the average person would know. If the accused is responsible, then he will do it again, and again until he is killed. The shooter probably knows the laws out to kill him, so he's playing war. Ya know, killing people like your country has to gain freedom. I'm not the smartest person, but smart is only measured by someone else. Whoever the guy is they suspect doing the shooting, knows if he did it. If he didn't, then the Law is pointing fingers the wrong way that's all I'm saying. War has no Law. A person hunted has no law. Don't forget, the law kills people, some innocent people. A killer is no different then a soldier, the question is the mission. Is this shooter at war, and in the country already active at war because we are stupid and don't see it? State the evidence of why they believe he is the shooter, and that is why he's accused. To me, it's hearsay, one blaming another. But one blaming, could be the shooter, and the guys innocent. I honestly don't know, and neither does the law. Without evidence!!!

Blood Hound dogs and other evidence tells the police that he's still in the forest/mountains
Because they're pretty sure he has unalived himself or will soon. He left his rifle behind which usually means they've given up. So it's unlikely his plan is to travel very far. He said they had choppers and drones with FLIRs must’ve been too little too late
