The bikes from back in the 80’s were a piece of art compare to modern bikes. Love that you guys have dedicated this channel to mostly vintage bikes and not so much the newer stuff.
Well we try to mix it up! There’s 1,100 videos on this channel but the majority are still modern BMX
I used to think the same thing. Grew up in the 80/90’s, but as I got into modern day stuff there is a lot more character and identity to the newer brands than I thought. It’s hard to appreciate the aesthetics and differences in the different brand until you know what you are looking for. My 2 cents.
I live near Cincinnati and the girls here seem to ride the best bikes ( especially if they have a man😂)

My 84 chrome GT Pro Performer came from Roy's bike shop in Upland with a tuf neck stem also with no gyro back in the day.

I had an 85 pro performer, chrome with white mags, such a sweet lookin bike, no gyro

@@AlfredoMancuso I know you are an 80s GT freestyle fan. I have in storage tons of GT 80s build sets. I have frames sets to build 4 84/85 PP and World Tours...4 to 5 86 frame sets spanning every model.....5 87 frame sets of PFT and PP all with coin roll(dayglow pink, white, maui blue, black and pink). Will consider selling once I move and start my builds.

For that clean look, i always keep my seat tucked, just be eyefull to avoid the seatpost hitting & breaking bottom seat 😅... great vid master Phu..

I put my seat all the way back for more reach, having bigger hands helps when doing a trick to grab the bar and seat helps to fill the gap between. Both cables for me in front of the bar tangles less with the feet if going over the bars. I'm surprised no Odyssey Gyro or ACS Rotor for it.

Phu you are the man this was a great build video I couldn't agree more with you on how you set up the brake cables. I build a lot of bikes I just finished an 86 mongoose fs1 and it needed its brake cables run exactly how you said.

Front brake cable should go under the bar IMO.
It would definitely look alot more era correct with a 1 pc crank and 1/2 inch pedals !

Why rear wheel is not full slammed in dropouts, you have a lot of clearance, I know that, that the old frames doesn’t have a lot of room and clearance, but I personally think you can remove 2-3 links and rear end will be shorter and wheel will be looks more clean, sick and closer to frame bridges ❤

By rights, you should should be using a torque wrench so you don't over tighten your and crush the bars and stuff
That would be wise for sure
It would be the proper way… but no one can tell you the torque specs for these things… so it’s pointless.
