    it's 7 years into it's life and still going, still selling buckets
    It's so Successful, so poised and beautiful, BMW have wondered if to change anything and are worried in bringing out the next gen as per it's already overdue delay. Instead, they're just adding new tech like Wifi hotspot to the existing chassis. What amazing design.

      I hate the low seating position and will switch to a CLA hopefully very soon. But my God the rest of the car though,,, to think BMW could ever design something as futuristic as this is in the plain-jane saloon world; this started the revolution!!

    Ok I've owned a 320d f30 for over 2 years so I'm in a much better position to review it.
    Pros- cheap to run, road tax £30 per year. Insurance/ £700 for 31yr old with 6 yrs no claim bonus. Fuel economy (I hate it when pro car reviewers repeat manufacturer Mpg numbers) you'll NEVER achieve these numbers in real world driving. I averaged 37mpg highway & 27mpg city driving.
    Cons- no idea why the reviewer would say it isn't crafty over bad surfaces. Take it from me, it is! Not to mention these tyres are run flats which aren't great over poor surfaces. Diesel lag- whilst it's a huge improvement over the previous generation e90/e92, u still get some turbo/ diesel lag at low speeds. Car feels heavy and doesn't take off as fast as u want it. And the handling, it's a good car for daily driving BUT don't think the "sport" part on the badge means it's sporty. It ISN'T. When pressed, the car can be pretty wobbly especially around bends UNLESS u buy new and opt for "adaptive suspension" Which transforms the handling
    Overall- a beautiful looking and cheap car to run with lots of room.

      johnny g what configuration/packs is it worth to have on this car?

    • @SuperKoreanzombie

      +Yessin A, hmm my 320d was pretty basic. It had the extra storage pack which is great if u have kids like me. And the car is always packed with things. I would get the "folding mirrors". Rear split folding seats were a good option luggage.
      Now, on my current 328i m sport, it has the light package which I highly recommend. U get xenon headlights which looks great, along with adaptive headlights & high beam assist. I would highly recommend the M sport package, u get the alloys, sport seats, bumpers, steering, suspension etc. If buying new, "adaptive m suspension" which isn't expensive transforms the car's handling. As for sat nav, there's 2 types. The more expensive package is called pro if I recall correctly. U get a bigger screen however I rarely ever use my sat nav so this wasn't money well spent. I've also got heated seats but have yet to even use it.

      +johnny g I've had my 320d sport for 6 months now with the 328i 18" rims and goodyear 225/45r18 tyres installed. And it is the best car I've driven, likes of which include 520d and Jaguar XF. Yes it handles and drives better than the 520d. Yes it is heavy, but if you're complaining about that and wanted the pick-up, you should have spent more money and bought the 335i or 530d. What was stopping you. It is the smartest sports sedan you can buy for the money, and is a dream to drive. Like the reviewer mentions, it means all things to me. Money well spent and am gonna drive the car for another 3 years, and have a really good time doing that.

      +rocco3099 ok, the reason why I didn't initially spend more to get a 530d or 335 is simply because I didn't have nearly enough at the time BUT that's irrelevant since we are reviewing the 320d sport/ not a Ferrari or anything faster for that matter. I simply stated the car is heavy & suffers from turbo/ diesel lag from standstill. That is a fact so I'm not quite sure why that bothers.
      Secondly, I'm based in the uk & we have some harsh roads. In fact a lot car manufacturers are test driving their cars on uk roads now. Therefore I'm not sure what country your based in? U.S? Do u own a 320d sport or M sport. I'm guessing it's "sport", since u didn't include the M. I have no idea why u would rate this as a fine handling car. I belong to various Bmw forums & 99.9% threads/ posters agree the F30 stock suspension is NOT sporty when pushed. Seeing I have driven mine for over 2 yrs and you've only had it a few months, all I can suggest is try some uk B roads.

    Why is it always a 320d tested?, there are some who would like a Petrol 320 tested, I agree it’s a great Car and the Petrol is no slouch in the performance department also, and to be honest there’s not much extra I’d want inside and out, it looks great!

    This looks like a 1999 3 series with some led's...

      +Albert Arrabal Er no, you really need some new glasses.

    • @AlbertArrabal
      @AlbertArrabal 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      netweed09 I do wear a new pair of them. If you haven't had the chance to get into a 3 series, do it. Then we talk

    • @netweed09
      @netweed09 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Albert Arrabal Mm, well that's not what my point was. I love all the 3 series but until 2012, hated all their exteriors; this new one blew me away, how on Earth you can associate the fine, elegant timeless lines, swerves and curves for the previous lizards and box-ruler lego designs is truly beyond me.

    • @AlbertArrabal
      @AlbertArrabal 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      netweed09 I'm not talking about personal opinions. Maybe not from the 1999 model, but the 2016 3 series is a deep facelift model of the 2005 3 series.

    • @netweed09

      Albert Arrabal Sure but I feel it looks strikingly different; the whole side quarter view and front are transformed with the longer Bonnet.
