    I just had a look of CX-9, Santa Fe and Tiguan Allspace this weekend. TBH, CX-9 is the only car having enough space in the third row for an adult. If you are having a kid under 4 yrs old, there is possibly an adult needs to sit in the third row. I am 175 cm and I feel comfortable sitting in CX-9 while sitting in Tiguan or Santa Fe is terrible. Plus, CX-9's interior is amazing. Tiguan and Santa Fe's interior are too bad comparing to CX-9.

    Mazda CX 9 for me

  • @crk58241
    @crk58241 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    The Mazda CX-9 is very safe to drive. 5-star crash test results. Consumer Reports recommended for 2019. Yes the Mazda CX-9 is highly recommended! Car and Driver magazine for 2019 rated midsize SUV'S and their choice was the Mazda CX-9. Why do hyundais have such a high mileage warranty, because of their past flaws. They had to renew consumer confidence to bring back their customers. Japanese build better cars. That's a proven fact. The Mazda CX-9 exterior and interior is more refined and better-looking. The body style is almost 4 years old and still is a looker and will continue to be. The Santa Fe won't age as well. If you want refinement and class go with the Mazda CX-9. Check out people that actually own them, they're very satisfied Customers!

    Couldn't agree more.
    I couldn't believe when I tried them out that Santa Fe actually has a much better interior quality than its competitors.

    IMO, it is the Peugeot 5008 that should be #1. an amazing car in every possible way. Someone should drive this car before making any comment.

    For me I still consider the CX 9 no matter what the outcome of this test comparison, but the Hyundai is my second choice...

    I have the previous model and it's a superb vehicle. I will have no issue updating it to this one. Hyundai is what Toyota used to be.

    I have done test drive with the all of these cars and here is my list:
    1. Mazda CX-9
    2. Hyundai Santafe
    3. VW Tiguan AllSpace
    4. Mazda CX-8
    5. Peugeot 5008
    1. Mazda CX-9 is amazing car, it's too big for everyday commute though, specially if you live in Sydney!
    2. Hyundai Santa Fe is very practical. It's got premium quality interior with very comfy seats. Also I found it a really good size family SUV, not too big but very spacious inside. The only issue was the annoying lag of the 2.2 diesel engine when starting to move from stand still in particular.
    3. VW is also great car and it drives like VW Golf. It's very spacious considering it's 1840mm wide. I don't 100% like the interior build quality and I think all of the other 4 cars beat VW Tiguan's in terms of interior build quality.
    4. Mazda CX-8 is practical version of CX-9. Eventhough it's not much smaller than CX-9 but it's much easier to park it in narrow spaces. The only issue is the dashboard is sort of cramped and had less visibility than what what you have in CX-9.
    5. Peugeot 5008 is also good economy car with nice interior design, but not my cuppa tea! I like Peugeot 3008 though.
    I think there is no clear winner between these cars (ignore P 5008), whichever you go you would be happy.

    People comparing the New Santa Fe to the Sorento , need to experience first hand .... This new Santa Fe is NOTHING like the old one .... NOTHING . The interior is not cheap looking or feeling , and it is luxo barge quiet on the road .

    Without knowing how your point are allocated it’s difficult to understand how you come to your conclusions but I can generally understand your points. That said it’s always going to be a personal take on each vehicle. I wouldn’t argue the point on the Santa Fe or CX9 but I’d argue the Tiguan for third. It all really comes down to your own personal criteria at the end of the day.

    We got a santa fe because of its price. But we got the active trim, and we were comparing it to the outlander and xtrail, which both felt too small for what we wanted. Cx9 and even the cx8 were out of our price range by about 8k.

    Hyundai santa Fe has really small boot if using 3rows. What's the point of having a 7seater but no luggage space? When used as a 5seater, I don't think it is much larger than a RAV4 or CRV boot space either.

    CX9 over the Santa Fe. Mainly because of the Turbo Petrols advantages, Size, Internal Capacity, Looks and Handling. Even though I like driving to much to ever own one a road barge.

    Cx9 is the best car of this lot without any doubt, then Sorento and Santa Fe. Will be interesting to know the judging criteria and point distribution. Hyundai’s driving dynamics and steering feel is no where near Mazda

    • @techpappee
      @techpappee 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Previous versions of Hyundais i would agree. You're missing the bigger picture, Albert Biermann. Formally BMW M head is now in charge of drving dynamics throughout the entire line of Genesis, Hyundai and Kia vehicles. N head is only one of his jobs.
      Improved steering, torque vectoring, etc etc. Hes implamented a lot of changes the eyes cant see 😉. Hyundai motor group current releases are nothing like their past in regardes to driving dynamics. Arguably the one area that still needed addressed.

    If cx8 comes with a base spec sorento 3.5v6 engine, for 45k drive away would be a total winner. Even the newly announced 2.5t from cx-9 is better suited than the 2.2d

    Well I think you have over rated the 5008 by a huge margin. And the Cx8 3rd row seats are far more usable than 5008 and Allspace, which you have failed to give strong credits for.

  • @frankluo230
    @frankluo230 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just checked spec, santa Fe 2018 has 516L when third row folded. My tiny Peugeot 308hatch has 420L and a humble old Camry has 524L. So called family sized SUV

    • @frankluo230
      @frankluo230 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @daniel jacksonthat's what I mean. So called family SUV winner here has no space advantage to any normal SUV, like Rav4 Tiguan or CRV. The third row is really small too.

      Mikey: The Feds are to focussed on themselves making change a bit slow down here. The Aussie motor industry knows that the general public understand that turbo diesels are less expensive to use day to day in fuel economy. The motor industry will keep selling them if sale are strong until the Feds ban their import. I would go the CX9 for the obvious reasons. Zero particulate filter blockages, lower maintenance costs better power characteristics larger interior size, nicer appearance and better handling.
