Love this car! I owned a 1970 454 Chevelle Malibu for 25 years! When I bought it, I was the 3rd owner, and it was dark forrest green with no strips! With the Cowl induction hood, it gave it 25% more horse power! With the big block 454 engine, I had 398 horse power with 25% more with the cowl induction, that brought it up to 498 horse power! Pozzi traction, turbo hydromatic 400 with a shift kit in it. I could punch it at 60 mph, and break rubber to speeds over 120 mph+ in seconds. I drove for 100 miles at 120mph blowing by cars, and 2 corvettes tried to keep up, and they could not! The 100 miles only took 50 minutes! People on one overhead bridge gave me the peace sign, as I flew under the bridge. They made only 1800 that year, and that was the end of the line of the big rat motors. Its hard to believe this car came out of the factory stock back then. And now to see this 2025 454 SS Chevelle makes my heart pump! I sold that 1970 454 rat back in 2004, all numbers matched on it, as original, minor dents and little rust around the rear tires. So pleased to see the guy that bought it refurbished it, and is in North St. Paul, Minnesota Friday night car shows during the summer.
How much did your 1970 Chevelle Malibu cost when it came out. The prices on this model is about what some houses cost back in 1970. After a car loan with interest it's going to make this unattainable for the average person.
If Chevrolet actually made that with a 454 LS6 or better, with a auto horseshoe shifter and a cowl induction and hood flapper, they would make SOOO MUCH MONEY !
i now know the car im getting when i retire ..... back in the early 90s i had a 1970 Chevelle with a 454 and a turbo 400 trans i found it at a auto junk yard in Washington back when i was stationed in Whidbey Island naval base .... i was so happy when i found it just sitting there covered in snow because on my 16th Bday my uncle gave me his 1972 Chevelle malibu with a 350 and a hydromantic 350 ,,,, because of that car and my last name i lost my lic. for a decade but the Navy turned my life around.. ... i miss both cars and this one is the best retro style Chevelle they have ever made ..... ... reminds me of the 1974 Chevelle style and the 1970 style i was hoping it had dual round taillights like the 1972s had,,,, Owell mine will someday....
I owned an all original 1970 SS 402 for a decade. Best car I ever had and by far the fastest. 4- speed 4:11 posi rear and lowered down 6 inches. A beautiful Black Pearl.. This new car looks very nice and I love the interior options.. Very Good Chevrolet, If it's a true commercial....here.
@@brianswartz6515they never called it a 402. They started with the 396 in the 60’s and were kind of invested so when they upped the cubic inches, they kept the 396 emblems and stuff.
The lines of this SS 454 are true to the 1970 Chevelle SS. Front grill, headlights, the roofline angle, vented hood, chrome rear bumper enclosing rectangular tail lights. Very beautiful, very impressive! I'd love to hear the rumble of this beautiful beast! . . Russell Daniels, Killingly, CT.
I don't think people get these cars are not real but computer generated images of what it could look like. If they had this technology back in the day instead of having to make models out of clay they could have came up with even better-looking cars.
I used to have a 70 Chevelle. It was gold with a black vinyl top and I love that car cannoli. I bought it for $3600 for speed for 96. I would like to have this one, but I don’t want to pay 55,000 starting price and going up to 70. I know cars are expensive. Bring it down. I love the way the body fell great looking job with a high performance.
VERY VERY BEAUTIFUL CAR IT LOOKS LIKE AN OLDY BUT VERY EXPENSIVE AND VERY NICE,GOOD LUCK GUYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR 2025 TO THE WHOLE WORLD ,FROM A MEXICAN LIVING IN ARIZONA.
Build it but with no electric motors, no dash screen, no bluetooth, no stability control, no traction control, no heated seats, no heated mirrors, no parking sensors, no cameras, no drive assist electronics, no remote central locking, no engine push start. It will be basic and real and most of all affordable to buy.
Yes I sure would love to go on ride,my hat's off to chevy--it's añ awesome car,I dig everything about it,wish I could own one,,keep em coming,,,Jojo dee
The problem with the heads of GM is , they beg for money from the government for New year model innovation and build all these prototype cars for car shows . Then the executives drive them around for a while before they crush them !
Y'all need to check the pics during this presentation - sometimes it has roll-out vent windows on the doors, and sometimes the gear shift is on the console and sometimes it on the steering column....fake?
This is of the original design but it is very sharp looking. My brother had the Oldsmobile SS from the same vintage and when I first saw this from the rear that what I thought it was. I have ridden in one of these cars when I was 18 years old. A friend had one of these cars and it would sale. I believe the car had a 350 cubic inch V-8.
I’ve always wondered why carmakers wouldn’t bring back *actual* original iconic cars as they were, with all the “bells and whistles” of newer generation cars, but with knobs/shifters/and tech that can *look* original, but is updated to 2025 standards. They’d make a killing from the older generation, who could actually afford them.
They need a 1/2 ton pickup with 3 on the tree and a straight 6 engine, bench seat and for the luxury guys a radio. Retail for 12,500 new. You would have to wait in line for weeks to get one
This needs to be made for real. It could possibly start a needed trend among automakers back to when cars were cool!!!
If GM WAS SMART THEY WOULD BUILD THIS AND IT WOULD FLY OUT THE DOOR UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE NOT THAT SMART
You got that right
I know my name would be on the list!
No, because it would be unattainable for the working man. Just another trophy car for the rich.
Yup. Meanwhile Ford and Plymouth get it.
Unfortunately I can't argue with you I have to completely agree
God, do I wish this car existed. That fastback rear is unbelievable.
Artist's rendering. Will never see the light of day.
Hey, I here GM is selling a lot of the newly styled Corvette. Here's hoping !!!! Think there is a wide open market of us old guys out there!!

Had a 69 SS 396, 400 turbo, bench seat, ... even getting groceries was fun.
That 396 was bad to the bone 😈
Standard shift or automatic?
I would buy this car in a heartbeat! Wish it was real!
If Chevrolet actually made that with a 454 LS6 or better, with a auto horseshoe shifter and a cowl induction and hood flapper, they would make SOOO MUCH MONEY !
Hardly. The cost of production would make it completely unprofitable.
So would the insurance companies...
And folks wouldn't care if there were 3 or 4 of them, in their neighborhood. This is that kind of car.
I did too...still have it...was my first car bought in 1974
We NEED this car...please get Chevy to produce it. I'll buy one!
They start at 250k$$$...
Did you hear how much it was going to cost? $55,000.00 to $70,000.00.
@@brianbrazil4426 Brian, according to Giovanni (above) they start at $250K...way outta my league!
If this were the real deal, it’s one car I’d actually be willing to go into debt for. 🤗

Ah the 402... a friend's dad who was some big-wig at BFG had a 71 Monte with that motor, he claimed it was one of only seven built. What a ride.

My first car was a 1972 Chevy Chevelle Malibu SS. I’d give everything to have it back.
Believe it when I see it. ON THE STREET
It's far too beautiful to ever be considered for producing even if it only had 454 CCs, never ever would this happen.
I think you mean 454 c.i..
@richardrice8076 nope I meant what I said.
@@ajdenzer3039 oooooook
@ajdenzer3039 oops my bad, I misread your comment. My apologies.
I have a 72’ with a 454. So fun and the looks you get when going down Whiskey Row in Prescott AZ is hysterical.
I'M STILL WAITING FOR THEM TO BRING BACK THE S 10. THE REAL WORK HORSE.
Absolutely beautiful.
I'd definitely would love one. When I was 21 my brother had a 1969 ss
One of my favs! I had a 67 Malibu 327
This is what a throw back should look like! Totally would scoop one up if this comes to real life!
I would buy this in a heartbeat!
i need one of these under my Christmas tree
Just Awsome , if only it would happen I would buy one ! No doubt I’d get rid of my Pick Up and buy one tomorrow !
WOW - I love it..I WANT ONE!
That car would fly off the showroom floor!
Wow .... love this car. Needs to be manufactured ❤
I was sitting in my chair when I noticed I drooled on myself!
Gm would sell a shitload of these.
Not for $55,000.00 to $70,000.00 plus interest unless you buy it with cash out right. Then there's the cost of insurance and license fees.
@brianbrazil4426 not for everyone, so how much for a corvette? Seems like a buy for 55 to 70 k sign me up!
I'd buy one for sure!
I'm retired, I'd go back to work to buy that....build it!
Hell yes! SOLD. IF BECOMES. AVAILABLE ON MARKET, DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND. PRODUCTION WOULD BE NECESSARY 🎉😊

Its total BS. He's literally telling you about the digital display while looking right at the dash
There are real photos of the new Cheville Being released in 2025. The Copo Motor version will produce 1,200 HP. 200 HP more than the Hellcat
Still looks badass
WOW! Now that is beautiful, I want one!
Looks outstanding !
Love to have one. It is beautiful through out.
Beautiful concept car!
This is a drean car, bring it on and see what happens.❤
I've been saying this for years! "Bring back the old car bodies from the past."
Would be super nice to have one. I like it.
Looks pretty cool 😎😎😎😍😍😍
I love it, its definitely an icon ❤❤❤❤❤
Are these general motors builds or individual custom garage builds i seen the 2025 impala earlier ?
This is ai slop. Just look at the wonkiness of the logos.
Great Presentation do they have 6speed manual transmissions
A awesome blend of many of the best parts of Chevrolet and 1963 -67 vets
I totally love this
No matter its so cool looks a lot like the old days only faster and more fun!😮
A Black Beauty! Wish I could afford one.
I bet it will beat the old 70 chevelle
That's bad ass love it😮
Una obra de arte. Muy por encima del Challenger y Mustang 😃😉😎
Hell yeah I’d like to take a spin around the block with this!!
