Looking at this comment section it's pretty clear that no one really gets Oryx as a character. Yes he does talk alot and i mean alot, but that kinda fits his whole character for those who read the lore Oryx talked alot and i mean so much so that it seemed overbearing by the time we met him he was just a screaming king looking to kill us for what we did to his son, so yeah Oryx might be preaching and yapping way too much but it kinda fits who he is as a king.
Edit: please be civil and dont start a war
Also during the TTK dlc in destiny 1 he barely even spoke at all so I really don't know why people are upset

The reason I’m very happy for the new voice actor is the fact that his voice is way better for an oryx that talks a lot. People right now hate the way fikrul talks, and it was one of the reasons I saw a lot of people dislike revenant because they just didn’t like listening to him. Oryx in D1 sounded a lot similar to Fikrul, just less guttural growling, but it suited him angry shouting at us the whole time, and it didn’t get grueling because oryx didn’t speak much. Now that oryx gets entire yap sessions (not a bad thing, just couldn’t think of a word other than yap) him sounding much clearer makes that much more tolerable than it would’ve been if he had his old voice

Tbh out of all the enemy factions we have in Destiny 1&2, I feel like the Hive are the ones with the most effort put in their role at the game. Both in importance and storytelling.
I agree, I think the Vex could be interesting too, but we’ve only scratched the surface of what the Vex truly are.
The Cabal have been pretty well explored thus far, and their tie in with the hive gives them story relevance when it involves Savathun and Xivu.
The fallen I feel got the short end of the stick. Everytime they have a season or DLC, it’s usually becuase some new big bad wants to be Kell of Kells and is plotting something *terribly dangerous*. Now that we’ve established Mithrax as the Kell of Kells I’m hoping they can develop more.
The Taken have been explored, they are simply the result of a power once wielded by Oryx, and that power is now being explored in this season.
The dread are the newest race, and I hope we get some development on them. We the players know the dread are just amalgamations made by the witness from the races that it’s conquered in the past, but maybe there’s more to them that can be researched.

Agreed, all of the three sisters are poetic in their conversations. That much is shown with Xivu's vocabulary during season of the witch.

It's also worth noting that the echo is him before he had crota. He says something about "I am told in this life I had a son, and that I died in my effort to enact vengeance for him... what a waste of my logic."
D1 had oryx spoke very calm till he saw the guardian.
Half of what Oryx just said I started playing in my head with dramatic music and suddenly I was imagining up a trailer for a movie twice over
I think the reason he might be talking so much for a lot of people is that (unless someone states otherwise), all the lore here is meant to be separate readings collected or listened to individually.
Otherwise, pretty cool voice rework for him.

The cadence of his speech, the tone, the vocabulary… it’s honestly really awesome to listen to
Perfectly encapsulates the regal vibe I’d expect from the voice of an alien god-king
Because he was a gutteral hell-ghost-space devil which dabbled in esotericism and we only defeated him by sacrificing an entire civilization and by details like bomb logic

OG was fine as he hardly talked in D1, but yah this is objectively better if you're goign to have the guy talk a lot. He's clearer, and sounds more like a philosopher then the more brutish monster liek voice he had in D1. Now I want them to go back and update D1 with Oryx's new voice.

I have a hunch that his voice actor is the same as Imarû, but with some editing
THis really makes me want Bungie to give us and audiobook version of the Books Of Sorrow witht he 3 Hive God voice actors voicing their characters. But who should be the narrator? Also please Bungie, go back and update D1 with this new voice, he's so much better, still sounds like Oryx but less monstering and clearer to understand.

@@joulevette22he should have been a friendly light hive… all the sht Nokris put up with. He wasn’t upset at us. He was trying to keep us from the witness and failed greatly thanks to his aunt tricking him.

His voice has that Taken 'whisper' effect to it, his voice is deep, just pitched by the harmony of two voices layered on top of eachother.

Weaver and Unraveler I get, but who is the Hull Beater? Crota? Odd title.
I had to listen to this segment for three minutes straight while doing the captions, trying to make sense of what was said. At first, I heard "hole beater" or "whole beater," but I eventually realized that "hull beater" made the most sense. Not sure what it refers to, though.
