    I managed to pull myself away from Elden Ring for a bit to revisit some of FromSoftware's previous titles. I chose to only focus on games with details I found interesting. I couldn't find any in Demon Souls, but I'm sure they're there. Let me know if you found any!
    FromSoftware's attention to detail is mainly in how they build their worlds and lore, and less so like Rockstar who focus on making their worlds realistic (e.g. shrinking horse balls). This meant the video was a bit tricky to make, but I managed to find some stuff I found interesting. I hope you like them too!

      @@millbridge1016 Thanks! The only games I've really played are Elden Ring and Bloodborne. The rest I just played for videos. Even if I had played them all, I know Elden Ring would easily be my favourite. I still prefer Bloodborne's atmosphere, but I adore Elden Ring's exploration and combat far more than anything they've made before.

    Wolf fumbling his sword is one of my favorite details. He's rusty, only getting it back a few minutes ago after being without it for who knows how long. This perfectly mirrors the player's inexperience at this point. Both Wolf and the player are thrown into the fight with Genichiro without being ready, without having had enough time to truly get a feel for the game's combat.

    • @bolson42
      @bolson42 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Yeah, i thought exactly that too. This can actually be proven if you go back and play a new game against genichiro. He’s basically impossible for your first playthrough and you’ll no doubt die before you even get a quarter of his first phase. But after finishing the game, you can almost always beat him.

    In Elden Ring, Miquella is the one who created the rings of light technique as a gift to his father Radagon who then perfected it. I read this in an incantation description about halfway through the game. And it all came back to me the moment I tried to use the halo scythe weapon art on Radagon. He deflects the rings of light and instantly sends a holy bolt back as punishment as if to say “Lowly tarnished, do you know who tf I am?” This moment is what I love about fromsoft. Storytelling through gameplay and attention to detail.

      Not to disparage your discovery, but Radagon has a somewhat subtle animation where he will occasionally hold his free hand in front of him as he advances. If hit with any projectile based spell while in this stance he will deflect it and counter. It rarely lasts long and can be hard to spot if you don't know what to look for, but it is probably what happened rather than a specific interaction with the Rings spell. Though if not, then it is indeed cool.

Could just be rng making me think that.

    1. Larger trees and boulders will protect you from dragon fire and flames, but thinner ones will crumble or allow flame to pass through.
    2. The demi humans will lose hope and stop fighting if you kill their leader.
    3. Grass sways when you walk through it.
    4. The siren bat songs are actually in Latin and provide lore of their past lives before the Shattering.

    That's some next level shit for details, I love all these universes from create along the years, I grow up with it. I almost cry in the sekiro flumbing his sword in the first fight against genichiro, is tells you SO MUCH about his feelings and fears in that fight, all that is overcome by the journey of the player and in the end, sekiro is confident and so in peace with his motives that all that is gone and he is calm and collected, and ready for the fight.

    One of my favourite moments was when a merchant on Altus plateau says 'Oh I'm sorry I don't have much to offer' when you don't buy anything from him then he pulls out his imstrument and plays that beautiful piece of music, so good.

    For sekiro i doubt that is fumbling, probably a deliberate motion, some people tend to do a peculiar motion as a way to calm oneself, the most common example is swinging your leg when sitting or shaking your foot aggressively when legs are up in prone position. And that gesture of chopping(?) before then grabbing the hilt is a quite common motion. I remember vergil also do this, and i tend to also do this except hand stay longer on the hilt bcs i do that to rest my hand on the hilt while also stay on alert, ofc when i play pretend.

    In Elden Ring, some enemies doesn’t get any Bleed status like the Erdtree Avatar miniboss. Possibly cuz they don’t have blood. And yet other mobs like Skeleletons or Ghosts like the Tibia Mariner do

    Fire doesn’t spread in DS3. The dancers bossfight has fire that spreads because of her swords spreading it for the ambience of the fight, but no other spot in the game does that
